I just discovered you this summer & I enjoy your videos. I’m 70 y/o & live near Chicago & I want to tell you that you are providing a very important service to the world by bringing your viewers to parts of the world that many (if not most) of us have no idea about & this creates goodwill between our countries-especially important during these times. I’m half Slovak & visited there in 1972 so I can understand a few words here & there when you speak in Russian. It’s such a big world but we’re all so much like one another in our pursuit of life. I’m old now & raised a family who are very successful & off doing their thing. I have mobility issues & can no longer walk very well but I can travel along with you to see the world & this is a tremendous gift. Anyway, I’m so glad I have found you & will be watching. Loved this video again and you show the reality and beauty of places without creating clickbaits. I am so sick of all these travellers with titles like: "do not go here, the worst, disgusting food,..." they never understand the cultures and they do not want to, just gettings views plus there is mostly no research done. I don't know if you two realize what a wonderful service you provide to many of us. It is 6,423 miles from Westfield Center, OH. to Almaty. I never heard about Almaty before a year or so ago and I didn't know much about Kazakhstan either. That has all changed since then. I know that Daneliya Tuleshova comes from Almaty and I know that Dimash is from Kazakhstan. Daneliya has filmed several location videos from there and of course the two of you have given a lot of information as well. New people, new things, new ideas. Actually, I like your plans. I would love to see one video per week that goes a LOT more depth into each area. You have focused only on food and restaurants, which is fine, but I would also like to see the inside of major buildings, museums, schools, more on culture, sights etc. As for food, as an elderly person, I would like to see baked goods that are also healthy such as very little sugars and salts and butter. I don't know if you can make cultural foods with these limitations, but it would be nice to see. Anyway, I look forward to see what you are doing each week. You guys are a very cute, interesting couple.

I immigrated from Russia to the States when I was 11 (I’m now 44) and as I get older I’m starting to get nostalgic. One of my most vivid memories from childhood is the smell of a Хлебная (a bread bakery). A Russian bread bakery, be it a separate store or a supermarket department has a unique smell that I haven’t encountered in my travels since. It’s the hearty rye and winter wheat sourdough, I think.
Over the pandemic lockdown I started to bake a bit, but there are few good Russian “black” or “gray” bread recipes, so I’m hoping I might bake with you… and remember.
As I was reading your message, when I got to the part where you are talking about smell in a bread bakery, I just had this smell appearing. I absolutely adore it too! When we go back to Russia, I will go and film inside one, so wish I could share the smell with you!
You know...I love the smell of white bread, but rye is my favourite!

We are currently filming our course and I'm busy writing all the recipes up at the moment, so will share it as soon as we can! I just wanted to say that I'm sorry if I didn't explain it well enough, but we will be creating an "online baking course" on a platform called 'Udemy' (I think). I will include 10 video tutorials and downloadable recipes in the first course and it will be Eastern European/my Grans recipes. I love to incorporate cooking and baking into our videos, but if I started to just upload all of it here, I would get sooo messy and I wanted to create a space where I can share everything in the best detail and bring the most value. So we decided to do that. I'm working on my first course, but I have so many ideas...just need to keep finding kitchens on the road with ovens to film everything 😀

Matt & Julia 2.0 coming up from a wonderful mountain top! I remember seeing a video of a Baker that would go to his mountain cabin and bake his bread in a wood stove and while baking he would play classical music until the bread is done; the videos of different breads were very relaxing. I never learned the baking or the violin and don't have any cabin in the woods!. You guys should know we accept you the way you are, the most important things are honesty, integrity and being an all around good human being which you are, so don't stress over the future. Somehow things will work out.
You guys are great. So natural, and not over -produces and “in yer face”. It’s the only channel I can watch back to back with not getting annoyed / bored! Watching your films last year helped inspire and gave us confidence to travel on our 8 week honeymoon adventure in Central Asia. Now enjoying re-watching your clips after visiting places in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, and enjoying them differently having been to the same places now. Currently up to date with all your latest updates and can’t wait to hear about where life takes you next - I can’t wait for what you’ve described , and learning more about the real stories and people you meet ❤ from Wales.

It’s healthy to have goals in your lives and your vision of what content you want to work on and ultimately show us sounds really great. It’s a kind of continuation in some ways but going into more depth which of course will take more time to produce.

You both bring a unique perspective to the table. Matt is from the most cosmopolitan city in the world. Julia has a unique Eurasian perspective. Siberia is a part of Asia. He has the Atlantic and she has the Pacific as their starting point. You want to show how regardless of where in the world you are people are people. The writer needs to create a template for interviewing people, Find people living somewhere and spend some time with them, do a series of interviews about family, food, their world perspective, what they think is unique about their country, etc. Edit the hours together for continuity and then add the one magic ingredient that you possess. The chemistry between the both of you is human and warming in this chilly world. Develop that as a subtle undertone and I think you will be very successful. Good luck.

I've told you before on another platform - you and your videos have helped me a great deal "correcting" or changing my perception of the way of life in countries east of me. It's amazing to learn about, see places and meet people through your eyes, because you are honest and real - you really do love people, and we can all see that in your videos.

As two Americans, we (My friend, an employee of the US agency and me, a turon) were turned away from a Plov center in Moscow. Admittedly it was near closing, but there was plenty of Plov left and they seated locals behind us. My friend was pretty fluent in Russian and gave them an earful.
O my god! I really don't get why people do that, I would always try to give out as much food as possible , so there is less waste! well, I guess they were in a rush that day. If I was there with you - I would do exactly the same thing as your friend haha!

Snap that's me too, on super strong painkillers oxycontin pregablin ketamine, watching this couple walk round is so nice I can't walk far now, I have an unusual bone disease that form cysts in the bones that turn into holes my hip snapped when I turned round to talk to my friend in a shop. So young couple enjoy your lives together, I'm finding it so interesting I'm from the UK.
@@tracyfarnath2270 I've found that sometimes watching this channel, and a couple others, that I will go a bit longer before next pain med! Right now I'm hooked to a negative pressure vacuum trying to get a cavity to heal from inside to out, initial surgery was 3/22 then 9/22 they scraped out whole area even larger since wasn't healing right. People just don't get how draining constant pain can be! Good Luck!
@@lbednaz The same to you, chronic pain is the worst thing in the world, I get so frustrated I've never smoked only drink on special occasions , had collie dogs so did ten mile walks, worked as a nurse so it was incredibly busy, they did give me my pension early when my hip broke and I was in hospital seven weeks, ended up with a hip replacement they were thinking they may need to replace the whole femur but I escaped that. I've done my right ankle twice and my left once just by standing on a stone my husband thought it was a stick snapping I said no it's my ankle. Sorry I'm rambling, I agree with you that things like RUclips take you away from it for a while. I am lucky we have a lovely motorhome so we can go somewhere scenic and it's a change for me. I wish you all the luck hope your cavity heals, if you ever want to miss feel free x

We are currently filming our course and I'm busy writing all the recipes up at the moment, so will share it as soon as we can! I just wanted to say that I'm sorry if I didn't explain it well enough, but we will be creating an "online baking course" on a platform called 'Udemy' (I think). I will include 10 video tutorials and downloadable recipes in the first course and it will be Eastern European/my Grans recipes. I love to incorporate cooking and baking into our videos, but if I started to just upload all of it here, I would get sooo messy and I wanted to create a space where I can share everything in the best detail and bring the most value. So we decided to do that. I'm working on my first course, but I have so many ideas...just need to keep finding kitchens on the road with ovens to film everything 😀
