yeah, just set up a bunch of target dummies and kill her almost like a cheese. now murasama is actually viable/a thing so there's no reason to go with stellar striker though. wonder how this would work with the nerfed hp now

Man the exo mechs patterns are SO different in normal mode compared to Malice......... Much slower and much much less frequent. Being able to pick up hearts sure sounds nice as well.
Step 8 can be skipped if the material you are after is luminite. :) Since the Draedon update, upon Moon Lords death, the sky generates *large* planetoids that contain massive amounts of both luminite and exodium clusters that basically provide you all the amounts of material you ever need, if those 2 are what you want. Like no joke, those things are absolutely massive.

If you played Calamity before the Draedon update, those planetoids did not spawn into the world, instead the existing planetoids gained veins of exodium clusters for the player to mine out, nothing else. They now spawn in dedicated extra planetoids containing both Exodium Clusters and Luminite for you to harvest, which I feel has been a great addition to calamity.
I don't think I could ever play true melee. The amount of time where the boss isn't getting damaged makes me die inside. If I'm not dealing damage, it's either a phase transformation, I'm not doing it right or ceaseless void
I'm pretty sure the Gliding Probiscuit does more damage than the Stellar Striker unless you hit all the stars, even then the Biscuit's heals are really good.
oh boy, what a challenge though, you could've used directional melee mod, which could've made your true melee playthrough easier since with that mod you can aim your melee in any direction (pretty much vanilla 1.4 shortsword system but for every sword)
next calamity changelog: other bosses can no longer be summoned while exo mechs are alive. Pretty sad that you weren't able to use the directional melee but it happens
Good job man, I love how you can still get Providence's malice drop without malice, and glad that calamity team reworked a lot of weapons, now I don't have to fight yharon with a pre DoG weapon nice
There's the super dummy from Calamity which is pretty good, but luiafk has the best kind of dummy called the "improved dummy" but I don't know if GitGud had that mod installed
I've completed a Calamity run with all classes other than Rogue, which I'm working on right now at pre-Plantera (your guides are lifesavers btw) And the melee playthrough was the hardest, despite using the strongest swords with projectiles. Well done man, respect.

Good on you for clarifying the difficulty you were doing it on, took the feedback like a champ. Why did you re-fight the moonlord though? After the first kill there's new sky structures comprised of exo clusters and luminite, more than enough for a single person's playthrough. EDIT: I see you do go up there for some exo clusters at some point...but you only need a lunar pickaxe to mine through that and luminite so my question still stands on why did you re-fight moonlord for it. :P Anyhoo, I did a true melee playthrough recently as well, though I did it in death mode from the start. T'was fun, good jorb on yours as well.
Providence has increased iFrames, making most of swords ineffective against her. BUT gilded proboscis ignores her iFrames which makes it so good weapon even pre-DoG
I use Greatsword of judgement on Providence, it takes almost 3% of her health per second. I killed her without bothering with guardians. Also terror blade is great but is non homing.
Very Nice Vid 👍 Big Respect for doing such a difficult challenge. I could bearly defeat the poltergeist with mage after 30 deaths on revengance mode. You did it with True Melee. 👍
i know this video has been so labour intensive already but i kind of wanna see your health bar throughout the fight,, it kind of gives me an idea of how you felt during the whole time especially if you're really low - otherwise this is really amazing
@@GitGudWO stellar striker does probably still outclass it, but just saying, its fire projectiles also home in on enemies so it probably would have done more dps if you used a super dummy for testing
fun fact: providence's true melee has homing. which makes it better than stellar striker in most ways, including a bit higher dps and removes the need to aim, and also has a simillarly large hitbox, and they swing at *similar* speeds
Providence true melee is better than stellar striker when you use improved dummy or super dummy. It's projectiles home and explode. The sword is also bigger (very important).
If you craft the absorber and the camper and set up a chamber with honey and heart lanterns, you can tank the profaned guardians (and providence) while standing still. This is especially possible if you have a nurse nearby.
I didn’t even know about that cheese for the Mech’s. I have been unable to defeat them legit, and your tactic might be just enough for me to do them solidly! So glad I watched your videos
Pro(?) Tip, for night provi, make a hell arena, make it as wide as possible, you'll get both biome rewards anyways, i say this for the inmense extra space the underworld offers for the fight, luck!
tip: this mod is 20x easy with omni swing and that one mod that allowes you to swing in every direction, and also cooler item visual affects help with confidence because it makes you look cool as hell
I just realized that Providence is like The Empress of Light, but Has reversed functions and similar ones. It's actually really amazing that the Tmod Loader doesn't really need to update to 1.4 because Calamity already got almost everything
this is what I call the new best graphing hook in terraria vanilla it's the static hook that can be obtained by buying it from the steampunker npc why well you can control it if your asking what I'm talking about you can go up/down left/right and also control if you like wanna expand the length a little bit or contract the length of a little bit

You are right, I got around 4000 luminite ore from two planetoids itself. Too bad I noticed it while summoning storm weaver.
