    As tempted as I am to not say anything because of the free comments from those who jump to conclusions… since it’s safety-related I feel I have to address it. The Holosun is mounted to a “blue gun” mold that is painted black with the Holosun logo on it. Holosun also instructed me and encouraged me to point it at them since that’s the entire point of the sight. Otherwise it would just be a blank screen and there would be nothing to show.

    The Beretta has an upward motion decocker because you don't want to decock your gun while using the safety as a thumb rest.

    • @TheRancor53
      @TheRancor53 7 месяцев назад +2

      Exactly- I’m actually looking forward to getting one. The slide mounted version is workable but a frame mount is more intuitive and fits the 1911 style of shooting. Langdon will probably make an even lower profile decocker for people who feel a stab from the recoil like Honest Outlaw. Plus the Xstreme S trigger set up is Beretta’s best stock trigger so far.

    • @NightwoodGuns
      @NightwoodGuns  7 месяцев назад +2

    7:30 I'll gladly defend this thing. I'm a big fan of 92s and use them in competition. These guns are great for USPSA & IPSC Production divisions.
    Beretta has their flagship match gun in the 92X Performance, but I and many others don't like it much due to its heavy weight with little benefits to show for it. The standard 35 oz, aluminum-framed, non-Brigadier slide 92s are a dream to shoot when set up properly - I know you have an LTT and know what I'm talkin' bout. I view the 92 GTS as a sort of "92X Performance Light".
    I don't have a problem with slide-mounted controls but would gladly add a frame-mounted safety model to my collection - I'm a 1911 thumb safety riding type of guy. The GTS being DASA-capable will make it legal for use in Production divisions.
    Even outside of competition, a traditional (like OG OG) style 92 with frame mounted controls + DASA capability is pretty appealing for both EDC and duty. The decocking is weird, but at least we don't have to always manually drop the hammer. I'm excited to check one out once they get on the shelves.

      Thanks for the perspective! That helps me understand what is going on. The Beretta rep I talked to knew nothing 😂 I just wish the decocker wasn’t so uncomfortable to use as a thumb rest. Could just be my hand, but the corners were grinding me.

    I noticed the same on my 5" Apollo 11 when I was cleaning off the factory oil. I guess it may have to do with the 3D printed grip rubbing the trigger bow and the grip safety? I oiled the trigger bow and the grip safety, and it still does that. But if I gently tap on the grip safety, both the trigger and the grip safety will return to position, and the hammer will not drop. So I think it easy fix and may just needs some breaking in. I still haven't shot it yet; I'm waiting for the optic. And I'm still going to get a 4.25" when it is released.

And what is with the front of the dust cover. It looks totally wrong with the odd cut and slide cut together. . Really off for a full length dust cover rail. Kill the entire look. Same as the sides of the grip. Seems they are making a 2011 type pistol with no idea what it is supposed to be. GRRRRRR!!!!!!!

      @@NightwoodGuns Gun… it’s just a gun. It’s not a Glock clone. Technically Glock copied its specs from the Heckler & Koch VP70. So when you refer to the Glock you should say the Heckler & Koch VP70 clone (if you want to be technical). Calling a gun that is clearly unique a “Glock clone” is a spit at the foot.

    • @NightwoodGuns
      @NightwoodGuns  7 месяцев назад

      @@Prof.Albusdumbledore But when it is nearly completey compatible with all Glock parts isn’t it fair to refer to it as being Glock-adjacent? It’s not like you can put VP70 parts into a Glock. The Glock Gen 3 patent expired so now these companies are literally using the design. Hence the phrase “Glock Clone” has been adopted as a short hand for describing these guns. Kind of silly to get triggered over semantics.

    • @Prof.Albusdumbledore
      @Prof.Albusdumbledore 7 месяцев назад

      @@NightwoodGuns when people are wrong the first word that use is “triggered“. no one is triggered, I just find it annoying. And you missed my point. To say it’s a “clone” means they took the specs and parts of the design. I’m saying Glock did the same thing with H&K. So that’s why I said call it and HK clone then. And key word -MOST- not all companies use the design of the Glock Gen 3. And even if they use the shell it still doesn’t make it a clone. The ergonomics of the pistol is totally different. Please learn what clone means. It’s is not made to closely resemble a Glock. Is an android and iPhone clone? Is a corvette a Lamborghini clone? Where does it end? You Glock fanboys are weird. Every gun with a boxy cut is not a Glock clone. It’s funny how you guys say something is a Glock clone but never once say anything about a revolver being a clone of another revolver. That lets you know - you guys have some weird obsession with Glock and don’t want another gun to shine. Glock is not original
