I always go their website when I have problems with knees, hips, back. I have had pain in one knee for several weeks now. So far every time I have followed their exercise regimen the problems have been solved. I am a stout believer of their practice.
I started doing some Bob and Brad knee exercises - just this and that from different videos - on Monday. It's now Sunday. By Tuesday, my right knee already felt like it was less 'creaky' inside. By Thursday I was surprised how fluid and free-moving I felt and how easy it was to go up and down stairs multiple times (before I started the exercises, often I would have to pull myself up with the banister or stop on each step or pause after a couple of flights because my knee was just too weak to do the whole walk upstairs to my apartment). On Saturday I was expecting to be totally wiped out by being on my feet 8:30-13:30, because I had been too exhausted to do my shopping after that experience the Saturday before. I was amazed that not only was I not exhausted physically after teaching from 8:30-2PM, I was on my feet talking to students until 5PM and still had the energy and ability to go up and down stairs returning materials to the teachers' room AND to go to the store and do my shopping. I did NOT go home and just fall on the sofa as I had the previous week. I was tired mentally, but physically I felt like I had much more energy and ability to move about and concentrate and do something at home after what normally (before Bob and Brad knee exercises) would have been an impossibly exhausting day. I'm amazed how working on my chronically creaky right knee and weaker left knee/leg not only helped me not feel pain and heaviness in my legs after a long time of being on my feet, but that my WHOLE BODY felt less exhausted, more energetic and 'ready to go' even after what would normally be for me an extremely long day of teaching and being on my feet. I wish I had known about Bob and Brad back when I was teaching several days a week for a living and exhausted completely every day - instead of just teaching as a volunteer occasionally in retirement.
Thank you, Bob and Brad, for all your advice! After working in the yard the past month, one knee began to hurt so bad I could hardly walk. After watching your video and doing your exercises, I think I can easily get back in the yard - hopefully after a week of resting it! You 2 are a blessing!
You are my go to guys for anything that is hurting in my body. You help so many people. Nice gentle humor. Matter-of-fact approach. Professional and knowledgeable. Thank you. R
Bob's tibia rotation can also be done seated, with the foot on the floor or a step stool. Better for people with less balance and ability to stand on one leg.

Thanks for this video guys! My left knee sometimes feels like it’s going to give out regardless of whether I’m walking on a sidewalk or on a treadmill. Hopefully some of these exercises as well help. Thanks again!
I did some frog jumps on a concrete surface and now my knees are hurting. I’m trying these exercises tmr and hopefully they’ll help. Keep you all updated.
Wow. I'm 71 & can do a few single leg deep squats without any trouble. Yet my knee caps don't budge even a tiny bit. I don't think they ever have, & didn't know they should. Recently I had a few days of pain at the inside left of my right knee. The dimple area. 😉 I don't know why it started 🙄 and I don't know why it went away. 🤔Thanks for all the information you share!
I have a full range of physical therapy exercises for my knee but we never covered how to handle the stretching or pain that goes from the back of the knee to the back of the bottom of my butt. It’s only on the one knee. I had my cortisone shot this week. I’m not going back to PT because they already have a few thousand dollars of mine. I just need that one stretch/exercise. Thanks
A soft compression knee sleeve can be nice too if someone doesn't want to get a full-on brace. It feels strange at first but once you're used to it, it feels nice.
Very good advice in this video! Regarding that “knee kick” demonstrated by Brad (second last exercise), that’s a good move to remember because even though I’ve had two successful knee replacements, my knees stiffen up somewhat after eating out in a restaurant. I will try and do some ‘kicks’ under the table just before I leave.
Thank you Bob & Brad for your professionalism and humor. Need your advise. I went bowling in Dec and did really well, however, I hadn't bowled in over 20 years, I'm 62, anyway, the next day I had thigh and knee pain which turned into sciatica pain and knee pain. I have been doing all of the stretches and still in pain. I play tennis and haven't given it up. What should I do to relieve the pain in my buttock and knee?
Is it now that you can move the knee past the toe's, your up-to-date videos state this? I had a fall and my knee cap is a pointed shape with less range of motion, am doing these exercises, thank you for your videos.
Bob & Brad Can you please comment on why our knees move and how to get them where they are suppose to be if possible. And how to tape your knees. Thank you.
Have pain in both knees in certain positions, especially the left knee, I have full range of motion in both knees but they feel graunchy and get pain as I start to flex the knee slowly when sitting then pain goes off as I fully extend the leg, so it's variable and is sore when I go up stairs.
Hi guys, I'm a new viewer and subscriber. I love the videos I've seen so far. I get pretty severe pain when I am driving in my right inner knee. It almost feels like it's out of joint but then when I get up and walk around it's fine. What can I do to help alleviate this pain? Thanks!
Dear Dr. Bob, I believe that bulging disc could go back to normal again with good exercise and strengthen the core. What is ur opinion about it pls? ??
Bob and brad I bought an adult bike It hurts my knee Am I harming my knee? I’ve had pain on and off since helping my husband lay flooring and make a deck
I got a steroid injection and have started PT twice a week. Things are better. As my orthopedist said "no body ever died from knee pain" so it just depends on how it interferes with your life.
I am turning 22 and I have hip pain and knee pain and now shoulder pain. Last time I went to my doctor I just got an nsaid. I am about to go back in. My previous time in he was moving my knees around and leg. But obviously when I was in there no popping or anything at least to my knowledge. Should I push for X-ray or ctscan I want more information on exactly what’s going on. This all started after starting work at a mill where I lined up boards as they came off the saw. Though months prior I had groin pain which I may or may not have mistaken as hernia because I have had a groin hernia at a young age and swear it felt the same so knowing now the hip at least couldn’t been prior
Jose Sanchez Once the inflammation, pain and discomfort from the surgery is gone, all healed, then give it another week or two, Work on your diet, and slowly ease into working it out. It’ll be discomfortable but you should know the more you rest it the more discomfort you’ll feel so once youre good to go you must stretch and exercise it. Not just your knee or legs but your whole body.
Muscles from the knee area are connected up by the hips. I believe that cramping you describe means that you're keeping the muscles tight habitually, without needing the muscle to be contracted to serve an action. (You won't feel you're tightening a muscle if it's a habit.) When you do a movement that requires the muscles be lengthened, (such as these exercises) some of the muscles return into their tightened state with too much force - so they cramp. The same thing can happen if you get a massage that manually relaxes a muscle. When you go to use that muscle after the massage, it cramps. This is because the muscle is starting out in an unusual relaxed state instead of being slightly tense. The effort of moving that you habitually associate with the action needs to usually overcome the habitual contraction...but the habitual contraction isn't there because the muscle has been relaxed by the massage and so it cramps. This is because you're using too much force to make the movement, given the starting state of being more relaxed. Since you know these cramps are likely to happen, do the exercise before or in the bath and alternate hot & cold water to make the cramping go away. Or, (since baths are expensive) - get an "impact" electric massage stick (which delivers a stronger vibration, they're around $35. My fave is the Wahl brand.) This electric massage device will make the cramp go away, especially if it is applied to the spots where the muscles connect that are cramping at the hips and knee areas.
Can u help me ? i got a muscle tear in my foot when i fell down..done almost eveything still hurts when i walk much or put pressure on that foot. Its been more than 3months.
Hina B. See a doctor. If its still painful after three months its more likely the injury is becoming permanent. Dont wait that long, its not worth it just see a doctor.
I have developed a bad condition due to a bad eating habit. Now my body has allergic reactions to certain food (anything not fresh). I get sharp pain 2 to 3 hours after I eat something. Now some food look innocuous, but if it has not so fresh ingredients, my joints (fingers/wrist) will be paid did (and paralyzed). Minute amount of soya in chocolate can do this or shrimp in curry sauce. Oddly, the pain location differs from one food or another! The pain vanishes adter 24 hours. If a researchers wants to use me as lab rat, let me know. lol
So what do you do for the treatment of patellofemoral syndrome when your knee cap going up and down causes extreme pain and snaps. My knee locks up sometimes while walking forward and thankfully I no longer fall because of the pain. However the knee still snaps and I have extreme pain. More pronounced pain going down incline and a struggle going up incline.
Two walking sticks used at the same time alternately can take up to 30% of the force off the knees. (Of course, if you're carrying anything, it would need to go into a backpack.)
Can you talk about cons of sitting on your leg. I have of sitting with my left leg under me. Hurts to do that with the right leg. I'm sure neither is good for me. I'll add that I get left foot or plantar issues. Wondering if it's related to sitting on it!
