This Women is one of the most optimistic and humble individual I have ever seen! Literally out of a terrible destructive situation for nearly everyone on those islands I didn’t hear anything besides “This isn’t that bad” “It could have been much worse and it is for others” and she had a smile on her face as well! Really nice to see that 😊

I am so Grateful she found some of her family heirlooms intact and ok. I loved her hope and optimistic attitude toward her home

After finding that she had 3 feet of water in her home and she was able to leave with a smile and optimism! That’s something to admire as most of us couldn’t do that. We also had Hurricane Ian in New Smyrna and many had terrible flooding in their homes that were up to almost 5 feet. Can’t even imagine. We lucked out with a lot of flooding in our streets that turned into rivers but our home was high enough the water got to our back door!

This is such a sad scenario. She was one lucky lady and is so thankful.

Now it’s just cleanup for her & taking down whatever walls had water damage. She is very lucky, but even if you go out for a walk just seeing all the devastation whether it’s minor or major still takes on your mind.

Bless her and everyone else in Florida who is rebuilding after Ian. She is so optimistic, I almost feel over when she said “oh wow its not that bad the water only came up 3 feet.” She turned everything into a positive. ❤

She and I are lucky our homes are cinderblock and made for FL. 🌴🌞

wow, this lady is one of the very lucky one's, she'll be able to recover so very much of her family possessions. Furniture...most of that can be replaced. Family mementos - photos, even some books, can be conserved if the time and effort is done to recover them... in some cases. Best of luck to all from the Ian storm path.

Cheap homes available in Sanibel and captive. I'm in Cape Coral and for sale signs are going up. New homes that were being built are continuing to be built, just 5 days after the storm.

I don't understand why people don't pack up everything before these storms? Even if your house survives, you still have so much clean up to do afterwards. It's just easier if all your stuff is packed up and protected. I would be such a minimalist if I lived near the beach and had to evacuate every year due to storms. This lady was thinking about retiring....she should think about passing down some of those family heirlooms before they get destroyed in the next storm and really simplify her home.

I’m happy she is ok. I had a foot of water in my house in Cape Coral and I have to look for a place to move to. My landlord isn’t fixing the house and wants to sell. Houses are hard to find because of all the inflated prices and gouging that’s going on. I want to stay in Cape Coral but may not be able to.

Omg the journalistic narrative is kinda nauseating…makes it sound more dramatized, fictional and theatrical than a description that tells it like it is…..glad for once someone found her home in comparatively decent shape.
