We were on the Encore to Alaska in August of last year. This was our 10th cruise all with NCL and this was the best. I am sure they have all left (even the cast of Choir of Man was differant , they were fantastic) but Ron Ron was outstanding in the District Brew House and Jane was the best at Sugarcane, she was also serving on the Waterfront while we were cruise through the Glaser!
Everyone on the ship was so amazing. I honestly don’t know how they can work so hard yet keep the guests interactions so personal.
Alaska was our 5 yr anniversary trip and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate. It is truely one of the most beautiful areas of the country and suggest everyone experience it if they can.
Hope you enjoy the rest of our trip videos and we are already planning the rest of the year and into 2023. If you enjoy please subscribe, it means so much to me and will make sure you don’t miss any of our videos.
Hope you have a great rest of your week!

Looks like fun😁 we will be going to Alaska week too for the first time. It was cool to see all the fun you guys had
Hope you enjoy your trip! It’s really a great trip! I have an episode about Juneau and one on Skagway coming out tonight if you wanted to see more! If you haven’t subscribed yet we would really appreciate a new subscriber! Thanks!
We traveled Encore to Alaska last year, had an excellent time.
I did the go-carts -- made me quite dizzy, because of the tight turns. My wife skipped that.
We were really impressed with the ship and the activities. Can definitely see how the go carts can get you dizzy because there are so many tight turns in a tight area. Still incredible that they can fit that on a ship though!
We have a couple more cruises booked on different ships for later this year so if you haven’t we would really appreciate you subscribing to catch a glimpse of those as well.
Have a great day!

Emma, I really enjoyed your vlog!! Please keep it up as I am anxious to see the rest of your vacation. We will be on the Encore Oct. 23 while it makes its way from Seattle back to Miami. It is a 21 day trip and I am counting the days until we fly out to Seattle.
Thank you so much! That means so much to me!
WOW that sounds like a really amazing trip! Are you going through the Panama Canal? I have always wanted to do that!
I will have a new episode every Wednesday (so tonight)! So much fun stuff to come!
@@lindsayslivealittle Yes, we are going through the Panama Canal!
You're doing a great job with your videos and should be upping your subbies soon! New one here. :). Thank you for showing us this trip; we're getting pumped for our Sept 2023 Alaska cruise, God willing.
Thanks so much for the sweet message. We hope you have a great time in Alaska. We actually did a unique trip and flew back up to Alaska after our cruise to see more of the state. You will see those videos over the next few weeks.
Enjoy and let us know if you have any questions as you plan you trip.

Allison, we just booked our trip to Alaska for Sept. 2023 on the Encore also. We’re so excited!!
Love your channel!
I have a reservation with NCL Bliss on a Haven room in August 10th 2024. I am considering May into June 2023 What are your thoughts?
We have only traveled during May but absolutely loved our time in May. Early May things won’t fully be open but late May into the 1st week of June is prior to the rainy season so you typically get better weather. June-Aug is the rainy season.
Thank you so much for watching and enjoying. We will have another series on Alaska later this year so stay tuned for that.
Emma & Jack
So why did you pick the encore over the bliss? Looks like it was on a similar itinerary. Planning for next summer.
It was our first cruise to Alaska so we really picked it because it goes to Glacier Bay National Park.
We will have an episode coming out soon as we have now done both. If you are looking to book soon, we would suggest the Encore itinerary.
Have a great weekend.
Emma & Jack
@@lindsayslivealittle thanks so much! I'll look forward to the new episode!
Thanks for the great vlog! I am planning my trip to Alaska with Encore, just wondering if you think if its worth it to go for the Haven (vs Club Balcony)?
Thank you so much!
I will say you definitely get a lot more perks with the Haven than with a club balcony. But that also comes with a price tag! I would say if you do the Haven make sure it’s a newer ship with the restaurant. Otherwise I would maybe save the money and go with Club Balcony.
If you wan even more info I would watch my episode about is the Haven really worth it?

If you have liked what you have seen…would love for you to subscribe so you don’t miss any of the Alaska trip! Lots of great trip ideas.
I just booked this trip for October. So I’m curious, how cold will this cruise be in October?
We haven’t been in October but based on our experience we would plan on just bringing layers. If you plan on temperatures between 45-60F, you should be fine.
If you go up the mountains at all it can be 10-15F colder so you want to pack the winter coat just in case.
Our friend @griffandalyssa did the encore in the fall and have a great video on it, if you want to see their experience.
We go to Alaska July 31st on the encore. Was the boat fully booked or are they sailing at reduced capacity still?
We went in mid May. Our boat was about 70% full. It did not feel overly packed at all. I do know July/August in Alaska is a more popular time to go though. Would love it of you could follow so you can see the rest of the Alaska trip and get some good tips. Hope you have an amazing trip in July/August!
@@lindsayslivealittle I subscribed and will be watching. Ty
@@masonchiasson2140 Thank you so very much! Means the world to me!
Hey Emma, my parents and I are going on the same trip but for the last week of September this year.
I’m super curious. Do you need a negative covid test upon boarding even if you’re fully vaccinated?
Website mentions it but wasn’t super clear.
Hi Brianna. When we went, we were required to show negative Covid test results when checking in at the port. The test can be done up to 2 days before you embark. The easiest way is to use their online proctored tests that you can self administer at home.
These are subject to change at anytime so would suggest being on the lookout for updates via email from NCL on the latest protocols.
We hope you enjoy the trip as much as we did.
Let us know if you have any other questions. And if you haven’t, we would really appreciate you subscribing and the remaining vlogs from the trip will come out over the next few weeks.
What tips do you have for how to get from the airport to the port area and where did you stay?
We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel by the port. It was around $50 and super easy. There is also a team rail that you can take from the airport but it is a little less convenient as you have to walk a bit to the station but is definitely the most cost effective way.
We stayed at the The Charter Hotel by Hilton which was about a 5 min taxi ride to the port. You can walk but it is super hilly. Directly across from the port terminal there is a Marriott that is probably the most convenient.
Let’s us know any questions you have about the other ports. And many more videos coming in the next few weeks.
To keep up in the latest we would really appreciate it, if you could subscribe.
Hope you have a great weekend!
Just had a couple (three) questions for you about the cruise if you don't mind. I'm scheduled to go on the last Alaska cruise of the season on the Encore in mid October. Due to a family history of heart conditions, I decided against getting vaccinated, but cruises are still requiring proof of vaccination. A friend's parents just got back from a cruise, and they were saying they never asked or checked for proof. What was your experience with this? I'm still 3 months out, but if rules don't change it would be a shame to go all the way to Alaska only to be turned away.
Secondly, you said at one point it was rocky on board. Did this make you at all sea sick? Was it tough to keep your balance? Did you need to take anything to avoid sea sickness?
Lastly, in many clips of the voyage, you could see land, but in some you couldn't. We're you able to see land at all on your sea days? Or was it nothing but ocean? How long did this last? First cruise as I mentioned. Not sure if I would find that disorienting or not.
Thanks for doing the video, and I wish you lots of success with your channel!!!
Thanks for the questions.
We will do our best to answer with what we know and have experienced. We last cruises at the end of May so some of this may have changed or might change by the time you cruise.
1. We absolutely had our vaccine documentation checked at the port and when checking in online it requests it. Additionally, because of the port stop in Victoria, BC you have to upload the information into the Canada visitor app (ArrivCAN).
2. The first day at sea was the rockiest. It wasn’t hard to keep your balance but you could definitely feel the movement. It was not near the worst we have experienced though. For sea sickness, we have never gotten sea sick or motion sickness before. However, we did see a couple people that need to take some medication. A family member of ours carry’s the prescription patches and we have also heard the wrist bands work well.
3. The first sea day was the only day where we really didn’t see much land. The other days you are sailing so close to the shore that you can see the cliffs unless it is foggy or rainy.
Hope this answered your questions and if you have anymore please feel free to ask. Our next vlog will come out Wednesday evening and it will be from Skagway. If you haven’t subscribed please do, we really appreciate all the support we are getting.
Have a great weekend! And get out and live a little!
we are debating on which NCL to take to Alaska.
oh and we have never sailed NCL before too.
Personally I really like NCL. I have done Royal Caribbean a few times and Carnival once.
I think for Alaska you have to first decide if you want to leave out of Seattle or Canada. And then if you want to end at the same port you started with.
Then you have to think about if you want a bigger/newer ship that has things like a race track and laser tag. (We went on the Encore and that was a newer ship.)
Some but not all ships stop at a Glacier. Glacier bay or Daws Glacier are the 2 options. So I would also factor in if seeing a Glacier is important to you!
Hope that helped. And if you have any more questions please ask. Also if you haven’t subscribed I would really appreciate it if you do there are still a few more Alaska episodes.
Want glaciers
Bigger/newer ships go to Glacier bay. The smaller ones go to Daws Glacier.
We enjoyed the Encore.
Make sure to watch the other episodes and you can see where the Encore goes!
Seattle is fine
Any glacier will do
Great vlog, what’s the name of the hotel you guys stayed at
We stayed at the The Charter Hotel by Hilton. It was nice and in a great location for the evening.
Thanks for the comment. We really appreciate it. And let us know if you have questions.
Pike Place, not Pikes Place
Yes
Those awful masks:-(
We had to wear masks on planes at the time of filming this! Hope you enjoyed the episode!
