Did you know the Mayor of a small town out side of Poznan, asked the Germans if they could let him flee’ to Britain in 1940. The Germans simply responded: “Yes, if you run around The Streets of Warsaw naked, screaming *Im a small kid that has just shit my own pants! Someone give me towel.* After that he should drink 15 liters of sewer water. And throw up. He ended up rejecting The offer. But asked in 1941 if the offer still was available, but the Germans sadly said no.
I see one big issue with this scenario, there is no way eastern Prussia gets occupied that easily, I would rather expect front to stabilize on Vistula river, or even further into commintern territory

Just a few things I disagree with personally 1: Poland would likely lose all their Belarussian lands, as well as maybe some of west ukraine, due to soviet claims to the region and poland really having no capability to resist 2: Slovakia has been bugging me this entire time, why did it not get carved up by hungary 3: Yugoslavia would have to be invaded before Germany could get to greece, as a naval entrance would be expensive and unsafe compared to an extremely safe invasion of the unstable yugoslavia 4: Since belarus and parts of western ukraine are given to russia, Lithuania excluding memel goes to them instead 5: Bulgaria likely wouldn’t be directly given thessaloniki, at least not that early on. This is primarily due to it’s immense value to germany as a gateway to the aegean, and it is almost entirely greek so, unlike thrace, Bulgaria could likely struggle with keeping it in line
Why did the Germans invade Denmark at all? This isn't very clear in this scenario, and seems to happen entirely out of the blue. 9:29 Why does the invasion of the Benelux change. Belguim lasted 18 days, and the Netherlands lasted for a week. I don't understand why does the fact that Belguim lasted longer then the Netherlands change.
Great work, much improvment in terms of scenario accuracy in regards to the previous Poland alt hist! I could actually believe in this happening, even tough I have my own problems with the video. First, how do the inferior, barely-after-purges Red Army is able to do so well? Same with Poland, which just finished civil and would need lots of time to teach its full strength (like Red Army). From what I understand, war lasted until 1946, so this fact would theoretically eliminate this problem. However the Germans, even tough fighting on only one front, with more manpower avaible, against an inferior army, weren't able to make any gains, which makes them worse than combined Italian-Bulgarian-Hungarian forces. Germany would have propably advanced to Vistula, maybe even further, only then be pushed back with Allies joining back for second round. Second thing is post-war Poland. I'd say small amounts of clearly Belorussian, Ukrainian territory is ceded to USSR, compenstaed with half of German Silesia and Masuria. Other than that (and maybe more dynamic frontlines) really good work.
I think a more realistic POD could be done much more simply, with the relatively desperate Poles accepting an overature by Stalin to defend the country, this proposal did not exist in real life to my knowledge, over the summer of 1939 when the Allie’s were telling the Poles they couldn’t mobilize because it might prevoke the Germans, likely creating fears that the western Allies would abandon them like Czechoslovakia or cripple them through blatantly foolish attempts to not provoke the Germans. Stalin would need to convince the government that he would abide by whatever deal they signed but, if he could do that stayed true to his word, the Poles may say yes. Or once the invasion had begun and with no other option they easily would have said yes assuming the terms weren’t incredibly severe. The most important thing in the minds of these politicians was the survival of the polish state. If any political change is needed instead of a full blown civil war just have the peasant uprisings be dealt with by political promises to include the sanitation left more heavily in government, this seems like it would have at least temporarily ended any problems with the farmers and created the environment where politicians might be more open to doing buisness with the Soviets. Having a full civil war may just mean that the Germans not only take Danzig but also just refuse to leave the Nationalist zone after they lose the civil war and annex it into the Reich, either meaning an early start to ww2 or the sacrifice of most of western Poland to the Germans.
your scenario is very unlikely for several reasons... 1. the allies (Britain and France) didn't see Germany as a threat at first. if Poland turned communist they would support Germany in a massive offensive against the Soviet Union and the USSR deemed a much greater threat then the Germans with their massive industry and population. it wouldn't be far from the idea of them aiding the germans either with supplies or direct military intervention against the Soviets. the british were far more inclined to accept a german request for aid against the red giant as they had promised help to any european nation threatened by the red giant after WW1. 2. in the early stages of the war the USSR commanders were incompetent. (the experienced ones were killed in the great purge due to stalin's paranoia) and even if they did encircle east prussia. the Blitzkrieg tactic relies on encirclements and destruction of large groups of enemy troops. not to mention the soviet air doctrine was a disaster. they could take the corridor under heavy losses but insufficient air support and the poor state the red army was in at the time will only get them counter encircled in Posnan and pushed into the sea by the Germans. not to mention a major offensive from east prussia to slovakia will encircle the entire front line and crush the main soviet force allowing the germans to steamrolls most of the soviet army until it reorganizes in the winter just as they had done in the Maginot line. 3. even if this scenario plays out as you described as churchill being elected, mobilizing so soon after losing a war and peacing out is political suicide and is bound to launch the UK into a civil war. as for the US. it will prefer the Germans over the Soviets as long as the Germans don't join the Japanese after the US declared war for pearl harbor. in conclusion with the German army focused on one major front. while the soviets have the north against Finland (yes the continuation war is still a thing) and central european theatre against the Germans,Hungarian,Bulgarians,Spanish and French Volunteers,as well as Romanian revolutionaries as Romania was overwhelmingly split at the time between fascism and communism which will make them a ridiculously terrible ally. the Soviets stand no chance and will just get steamrolled. Germany lost a lost during it's war over britain which didn't happen in your universe meaning they could use all that lost equipment against the soviets in the east.
Why do you say democratic like it is the opposite of communist? Communist ≠ Dictatorship. Just as there are capitalist dictatorships, there are communist/socialist democracies.
What if archduke franz karl von hapsburg, the father of franz joseph died in 1820 and his father and brother too, leading to austria being inherited by napoleon II?
The USSR did not have ANY offensive capabilities in 1941. The idea that they would take all of prussia over within just one major offensive is laughable.
I don't think Germany would declare war on the USA in this scenario, the declaration of war against the USA was due to long term uboot warfare and a worse situation than in this scenario "military history visualized" has a great 7 minute video on that
I feel like you bent history too much in this video. A: the germans didnt want to go north, they wanted to go east and secure lebensraum and destroy bolshevism. Invading denmark and norway in otl was just a strategic move to prevent the british mining the sea between germany and sweden and so secure the german iron supply. B: by having the germans and poles avoid war you have crafted an entirely different scenario that causes the allies to peace out earlier. Imo a better way to approach this would be that a leftist government is peacefully put in power v in poland either because of a coup or democratic election due to soviet meddling. They choose to give up the east of poland in exchange for an alliance. Germany wanting to achieve lebensraum and crush bolshevism attacks the polish soviet alliance. The british desire to maintain the balance of power so they join on the soviet side. France wants to secure its borders by abolishing the german state so they also join.
Most likely they won't. I assume the USSR would combine them, just because they wanted the DDR to be bigger in terms of size, compared to the Western German Alternative
I don't like this timeline but i like it more that the Original Timeline, since Poland isn't as devastated and isn't as much of a minor Parter to the USSR
With the Soviets too I think, both wouldn't be so devastated after the war. So, in this timeline we get: -Overpowered USSR and Poland -Smaller USSR -Bigger and stronger Polen -More industrialized USSR and Poland -MUCH less devastated Europe (specially Poland, Germany, Hungary, Yugoslavia and the USSR) -Less casualties in all the war -More Jews -A greater Communist influence in the world (as they would have been seen as the winners against Nazism), but at the same time a lesser influence in Europe -No occupation of Iran? -Slower decolonization I think -Friendlier moustache Stalin -Japan would have been f*cked -Probably an earlier Soviet intervention in China -Repeat I honestly prefer this world even though it is very unrealistic. Less deaths, less suffering.
@@rewriting-history I am a communist myself and I am curious on how history could have been different, though I do heavily criticise past socialist states as much as I praise their successes, I am interested in your take on this scenario!
Not at all, what do you mean? Most of Europe is not under communist influence, meaning the USSR is in a weaker position. Communist China might not form, Vietnam and Korea will be united and democratic, and etc. This scenario changes a lot in terms of politics
Interesting scenario, there's some things I personally disagree with particularly about Romania: Romania's geographical state is quite interesting especially since the Carpathian Mountains could've played a massive role in DELAYING German advancement, not stopping. Romania also had a lot of oil so it wouldn't really abandon Wallachia easily considering it would basically hand the Axis its oil if they do retreat. Communism was also not a popular ideology in Romania back then, the PCR was the least popular party and only emerged after the Second World War. To think Romania would collaborate with a state that the government portraits as the devil is quite off point, however I assume maybe the Soviets here promised to remove its claims on Bessarabia and Bukovina? Either way, forgive my rambling, this video just focuses on Poland 😂
Romanian army was quite shitty at the time tough, so I believe they couldn't hold Wallachia. They did buy their allies some time after all, and maybe Romanians just sabotaged their oil rafineries before retreating. 🤔 I do doubt, if USSR would tolerate monarchist country as their close lesser ally, but I can believe, that resigning from Besarabia and Bukovina, as well as guaranteeing their territorial integrity could make Romanians ally with the Comintern.
@KedAR_48 You are correct. The Romanian army was back then in the 1930s in a period of reform. Corruption between commanders was evident, which draws a similar outcome to the First World War, where we saw how Romania got destroyed after losing the battle of Turtucaia in Southern Dobruja. A thing worth analysing about Romania is that the Iron Guard led by Corneliu Zelea Codreanu could have revolted or taken over the country in this scenario if not properly taken care of.
@KedAR_48 Most likely, however, when allying with the Soviets the Iron Guard might be triggered even more, as they absolutely despised King Carol II and further allying with the country they hated for being Communist might spark even more conflict and will see maybe a short rebellion like in our timeline on the streets of Bucharest, though in greater numbers. (For context: In our original timeline, after the ceding of Northern Transylvania, Bessarabia, North Bukovina, and Southern Dobruja, King Carol II abdicated in favour of Michael who was considered unexperienced by the Head of the Government: Marshal Ion Antonescu. Therefore as we know Michael stayed a figurehead whilst Antonescu had authority, during this time he collaborated with the Iron Guard to settle the National Legionary State which did not last long. The Legionaries led by Horia Sima following Codreanu's assassination in 1938, thirsty for power and realising they could rule the country under full rule decided whilst Antonescu was in Germany for a meeting, to rebel in the streets of Bucharest. Eventually, the rebellion died down following the intervention of the Romanian and German army. This caused Antonescu to revoke any cooperation with the Iron Guard and, therefore, a military dictatorship was in charge until August 23rd 1944.)
What about scenario "If Ukraine stayed independent after WW1"? You mentioned this outcome in video about Moldova. WW2 would be very different, because Ukraine was mighty industrial power and even more stronger if Holodomor, repressions and mass migration never happened. The presence of Ukraine in one bloc or another significantly strengthens it. And sustained german-soviet alliance seems more realistic
Well this picture summons everything.Like it woud go this way.We helped you but our army is in your naction so an anexation is Next as a way of payment
The Soviets were absolutely not ready for anything in 1939, following the brutal Stalinist purges that left the Soviet army in complete disarray. The purge removed 75-80% of top military leaders (from marshalls to corp commanders). It also eliminated around 8% of the lower rank officers. By 1938, the army was a collection of uncoordinated regional corps. It had no generals with any experience coordinating ground troops and tanks, for instance, and the navy was crippled.
I doubt that Comintern armies would be that successful at the start of the war. You mentioned Germany preparing for Barbarossa, but in the ended up as total stomp of the Germans. Polish army after the Civil war would be in the similar state with Soviet Red Army (if not worse since civil war ended just 2 years ago) there is no way they outperform Wehrmacht and take Danzig, same goes for Romanians - they wouldn't be that motivated to fight Axis similar to France until they capitulate (and most likely change sides). After that everything will be similar to original Eastern Front - Germany would occupy Poland and almost reach Moscow and/or Stalingrad and after that battle-hardened Red Army would begin counteroffensive. And after end of the war there is no way Poland and Romania wouldn't become "satellites" of USSR - their government would be unstable and majority of people would be very pro-communist seeing Red Army as liberators so in the end everything ends pretty similar to our timeline.
"In this alternate timeline, romania refused to give up the *rightfull* territory in favour of neighbouring *hungary...* " I am 3000 km away from you and rapidly approaching. *RUN*

The USSR did not have ANY offensive capabilities in 1941. The idea that they would take all of prussia over within just one major offensive is laughable.
It would've been possible if Poland didn't hate Soviet union guts
I don't think Germany would declare war on the USA in this scenario, the declaration of war against the USA was due to long term uboot warfare and a worse situation than in this scenario "military history visualized" has a great 7 minute video on that
I think they would still declare war, the Germans hated the Americans either way and Hitler was kinda full of himself
I dont see how denmark would remain a part of the DDR
Most likely they won't. I assume the USSR would combine them, just because they wanted the DDR to be bigger in terms of size, compared to the Western German Alternative
Just watching it now was not there to watch it live
I hope you liked the video regardless!

Average 1939 Scenario on WC4:
I don't like this timeline but i like it more that the Original Timeline, since Poland isn't as devastated and isn't as much of a minor Parter to the USSR
With the Soviets too I think, both wouldn't be so devastated after the war.
So, in this timeline we get:
-Overpowered USSR and Poland
-Smaller USSR
-Bigger and stronger Polen
-More industrialized USSR and Poland
-MUCH less devastated Europe (specially Poland, Germany, Hungary, Yugoslavia and the USSR)
-Less casualties in all the war
-More Jews
-A greater Communist influence in the world (as they would have been seen as the winners against Nazism), but at the same time a lesser influence in Europe
-No occupation of Iran?
-Slower decolonization I think
-Friendlier moustache Stalin
-Japan would have been f*cked
-Probably an earlier Soviet intervention in China
-Repeat
I honestly prefer this world even though it is very unrealistic. Less deaths, less suffering.
@@saidblanco7696 Yes, it is very unrealistic but it is better for people living in this world

Can you do a video on what if the soviet aided and establish Kurdish soviet socialist republic

This makes me think of how HOI4's Montreax Convention event chain can lead to war if the Turks and Soviets are both bullheaded enough.
What if yugoslavia was named memeslavia
what if the sino soviet split never happened and the USSR never had Khrushchev
I had this idea for a long time in mind, should create a video in a month maybe on that
@@rewriting-history I am a communist myself and I am curious on how history could have been different, though I do heavily criticise past socialist states as much as I praise their successes, I am interested in your take on this scenario!
What if Germany defended Poland instead?
So it ends literally the exact same way.... Great.
Not at all, what do you mean? Most of Europe is not under communist influence, meaning the USSR is in a weaker position. Communist China might not form, Vietnam and Korea will be united and democratic, and etc. This scenario changes a lot in terms of politics
even in this timeline kalilingrad is part of russia
Unfortunately , yes lol
Now what if china was more succesful during sino-soviet split influencing warsaw pact
Interesting scenario, there's some things I personally disagree with particularly about Romania:
Romania's geographical state is quite interesting especially since the Carpathian Mountains could've played a massive role in DELAYING German advancement, not stopping.
@@ptopds They might have crated a collaborationist government in occupied Wallachia
The best and most based alternative timeline!
I'm glad you think like that and I'm glad that you liked it! Cheers mate!
if they did poland would be top 5 economies in europe
It is a better ending ngl

Yes I'm indeed Bulgarian. As for the accent, somehow people like it and want to listen to it, who would have guessed
So a Communist Poland HOI4 Game 🤣
What about scenario "If Ukraine stayed independent after WW1"? You mentioned this outcome in video about Moldova. WW2 would be very different, because Ukraine was mighty industrial power and even more stronger if Holodomor, repressions and mass migration never happened. The presence of Ukraine in one bloc or another significantly strengthens it. And sustained german-soviet alliance seems more realistic
Will save the idea, it sounds good to me and I have wanting to make a similar video on it too!
the ussr wouldnt help poland either, but..... germany would
Well this picture summons everything.Like it woud go this way.We helped you but our army is in your naction so an anexation is Next as a way of payment

No
I just thought about this what if and then I see this video😂

Appreciate that very much for sure!
The soviets already had a defence pact with Poland, they disregarded it when they invaded alongside Germany.
