Billy so wracked with guilt, so convinced he is black, and dark, and an irredeemable murderer... Agatha so worried Billy might for one moment think that she, Agatha Harkness, would EVER sacrifice herself for another... Jennifer, a potions witch with a new and crippling phobia of mud-packs... I love that Agatha was not forced to redeem herself, but even more that she now has a chance to BEGIN to work through her issues, and maybe one day be able to move on and see her son again... Such beautiful acting, design, writing, direction... *emit loud scream of excitement and joy* I can't wait for Agatha More Along: The Search for a Quick Twink!
16:05 Completely agree.I want an Agatha season 2 that goes back in time to fill in a,, the things we still want to know about her *life* - not her afterlife. If they wanna have a separate Wiccan show where Agatha is in & out, ok. But there’s so much more Agatha, Rio, and Nicky lore to explore, and story to tell!
For all the wonder of this series, the most impressive thing to me is that they made it for $40M total. For comparison, every other Marvel series has cost $20-25M PER EPISODE. 🤯 Proof that you can’t always buy quality. The return on investment for this series is massive in terms of new “non-Marvel” audience engagement. Not bad for the gay witch show. 🏳️🌈🧙🏼
Agatha as a ghost is funny and fitting, and comic accurate. They should definitely return her to full opacity with the silver hair and maybe some shimmery makeup though, there’s no way they keep her transparent forever. Less nice to watch, and way too expensive! I look forward to more Agatha/Billy shenanigans, hopefully in an Agatha All Along season 2, or a spinoff. They’re submitting this season to the Emmys as a comedy series, not a limited series, which hopefully means they have some continuation of it planned. It feels like there’s room for Jen and Rio to reappear in that, and potentially in other MCU stuff. In addition to the search for Tommy, I hope they explore more of Billy’s seemingly still unresolved identity crisis and relationship with the Kaplans. Lots of comedic potential in a Ghost Agatha/Billy road trip to retrieve Tommy too. I personally don’t think our final girl Jen needs to become a mentor to Billy, I fully support her leaving Westview behind and making her own way and returning to her rootworking/midwifery/healing whatever she wants to do. I think her character also has ties to other parts of the Marvel world (Midnight Sons…?), though they took a lot of liberties with her backstory here. Agatha on the other hand is often a mentor/teacher in the comics and obviously sees Billy as surrogate son, so it makes sense. But I’d love to see them cross paths with Jen again in the future, her dynamic with Agatha is very funny, and I would love to see her face when she learns the truth about the Road. If Agatha wasn’t already dead I think Jen might actually kill her.
Vision is coming back in his own show. Vision Quest I like that Agatha wasn’t redeemed. Especially because I didn’t particularly feel the most sympathy for her. Sure, losing Nicky is definitely sad, but her actions caused any sadness I felt for her to drop a lot. But hey, I don’t hate her, and I still think she’s fun. This was a great show
My guess is that there will be a Wiccan(Wiccan and Speed?) show with Ghost Agatha as the mentor figure. To cut cost they find a way to give Agatha some type of solid form. Pretty sure in the comics where she is mostly a ghost in her appearances she can do that. Also turning Agatha into a ghost is the perfect punishment for this version of her character. Imo I wouldn’t have liked it if the show didn’t punish her at the end. So her being not able to move on cause she can’t face her son and losing her powers is the perfect punishment for her. She was a villain all the way through the show. She did purposely killed Alice cause she wanted to kill them all along to take their power and life force. She showed at the end with Billy that she could stop. So to me Ghost Agatha is great punishment and a great way to bring comic book accuracy to her character. Would love a Wiccan show to continue both Billy and Agatha story but also explore the idea that was introduced in Ms.Marvel. The idea of the government trying to keep track/capture super powered people. Tommy can be one of them and also introduce Hulkling who could’ve also been captured. They also have to introduce the consequences of Billy’s sigil being broken. Some type of powerful evil witch/sorcerer going after Billy because of his magic. There is also A LOT about Billy story that they left open and didn’t resolve so I expect those things to be explored there.
Agatha did not intentionally kill Alice. (This per interviews from Jac Schaeffer and Kathryn Hahn.) As she clearly _had_ intended to kill her “on day one”, I’m not saying her intent was benign. Just she didn’t intentionally kill her during her trial. She wasn’t in control. I’m personally not all about punishment for its own sake, but if you are, does the same apply to Wanda? I could see there being some benefit to a reduced power set while Agatha takes her first steps down a more redemptive path. If the endgame for her is to be OK seeing Nicky, she has to deal with the shame over what she’s done and be less of a villain.
@ Wanda was punished but also she was corrupted by the darkhold and regrets what she has done. I’m sure she will have power still like ghost abilities and minor magic but her magic sucking ability should be gone. A serial killer like Agatha needed to be punished specially if they want her to be a mentor figure which was Jac’s goal for her character.
Not sure being a ghost is a punishment. The deal she had with Rio was that if she made Billy surrender she wouldn't want to see her after she died, so she kept her promise and she didn't come to collect Agatha's soul. I understand that's why she says it was a calculated risk.
Loved, loved, loved this show, and loved watching your reactions and discussions. I have no notes, fan version or head cannon for the ending, because I fully leant into the absolute devastation and tragedy of Agatha bargaining with Death NEVER to see her face again if she delivers Billy to her. That was such a gut punch moment, and the script didn’t take back the gut punch. I respect that, the way I respected the devastating deaths in Logan. Usually I opt for happy ending stories, but sometimes I just need to cry it all out with a magnificent death. Like Lilia’s! And Alice’s! I think Marvel studios gave free range to Jac Schaeffer to do anything she wanted (which was to make a show all about Agatha) as long as she delivered Billy Maximoff as Wiccan at the end of it, to be used for the Young Avengers in the future. I just watched ruclips.net/video/G0LxA8vGSGo/видео.html a new The Making of Agatha All Along, released 3 days ago. I *highly* recommend it. Everything about the behind the scenes making of it, the care and attention to every little detail, and the bonding of the main cast is heartwarming and extraordinary. I think this is a clear career highlight for everyone involved, and it’s fantastic seeing the spotlight turned on everything and everyone. I came for Joe Locke because Heartstopper is without question the best queer television to be made to date, both in its writing and in the enourmous and positive effect it is having in society worldwide. (It’s audience numbers are enourmous in nations where homosexual behaviour and trans care are illegal, and all the nations where queer and trans acceptance are backsliding.) (Teachers are showing it in school, and forget about the positive queer representation, both adults and children alike are benefiting from the skillful communication representation, and the mental healthcare journey that culminates in season 3 from seeds planted earlier.). Now I’m following the Heartstopper main cast and author around. I’m so fracking glad Agatha cast Joe for teen, because otherwise I’d never have watched AAA, and missed out on what is now my co-equal favourite Marvel show with Loki 1 and 2. I’m already being pulled back into Marvel because I want Wanda’s full story now, which means getting on top of the multiverse shenanigans, and watching out for more Agatha, Billy and Death appearances in the future. Billy is bound to be a big character, and he’s gay! Ha! All the intolerant alpha boy men are going to have to deal with it. PS I care about Vision. A lot!
I think this is the middle series in a trilogy of series. I think one of the show runners pretty much said that in an interview, Jac maybe? Not that it started that way, but wv was so popular that they got more freedom to do what they do in the best way possible. So now WandaVision is season one, Agatha is season 2, and I think VisionQuest miiiight be season three in this mini saga?? We don't know much about it, yet, but theoretically Vision rediscovering his identity and as part of that these children that aren't his but kind of are but also not? So maybe he finds Billy and then they find Tommy? And Agatha is an occasional supporting character as Billys mentor? Idk I'm not a writer... But, for me, this series had Empire Strikes Back energy: phenomenal, but clearly the bridge in a trilogy.
I don't know if there will be a season two, I think we will get a Wiccan spin-off where they find Tommy. We know VisionQuest is coming in a couple years, but there is no way they could have announced a Wiccan series without his reveal in Agatha first.
I actually want “Agatha season 2: rewind time” set during the 1700s after Agatha killed her coven but before Nicky. Mainly Agatha and Rio, but featuring Lilia and Jenn. We would learn why Jen hates Agatha and maybe a time when she didn’t. I think Agatha and Lilila have a past - Agatha told her about her power to protect her from what she tried to do later that night. - she cried when she said Lilila’s name after Lilia read her in the shop. Crack!Theory: Agatha remembered Lilia from when she was a young witch and Lilia didn’t remember her. Lilia would’ve been older than Agatha and possibly the only witch to show her kindness back then. And Ali would play Alice’s ancestor witch that got her family cursed. There would be ZERO Billy, Tommy, or Vision - they can find each other on visionquest or a Wiccan show, but not within 100 miles of this coven. Basically, we can actually enjoy the fucking coven we signed up to watch and learn heaps of backstory, while they wear hooded shawls and other fierce 1700s looks 😂😂😂😊😊😊
Imo Agatha story and backstory can still be explored through flashback and future appearances. Alice and Lilia’s stories are done. I would not like them to milk them. Tho I really want Alice back to be the detective she is in the comics but I also don’t want them to just bring her back from death. Jen character is moving on to the Midnight Suns to hang with her cousin and Man-thing. We already know why she hates Agatha. She is a witch killer and now hates her even more after the revelations at the end.
But also if you see her in costume without the effect, the make up is crazy; very pearlescent, so it's two things! Maybe if they had her in regular make-up and the white hair but in her normal top bun, the ghost effect wouldn't have been that bad.
Hah! I was just coming to say the same thing! It’s a waste of Kathryn Hahn, who is magnetic and sexy and full color! She has said before that Agatha has “main character energy” and even making her a supporting side character seems like kind of a waste. They’ll probably do that though because that’s an easy way to fit Agatha into the larger MCU. I’m more worried about what some writers might do with Rio. There’s a fair amount of excitement over having Death as a character based on the Lady Death character from the comics. The thing is I really love how they portrayed Death here as The Original Green Witch. She carries a blade _and_ a bloom. She’s the natural order of all things, baby! Jac Schaeffer referred to her as a romantic antagonist - not a villain. I am hoping they can keep that neutral quality of decay and growth combined and not rework her into something dark who you couldn’t imagine playing that Agent Vidal scene with Agnes. Much less kissing Agatha like that, only to turn her body into a bed of purple flowers. 🪻💜🪻
@@ParticleZon I get the sense from some of Jac’s interviews that they are proud of the show and grateful for getting to air what they did, BUT, that they still lost a lot on the cutting room floor
Agatha is Wanda’s ghost mentor in the comics. They walked the real Witches’ Road and Agatha was returned to corporeal form much younger. But now let’s get real. There is no Agatha season 2. There wasn’t even a season 1. This was “Wiccan!” Agatha isn’t even a zit in the comics. The Emmy submission notwithstanding this saga continues elsewhere with Agatha as a bit player. This is the MCU, not the CW. Final thought: personifying death is idiotic.

In the comics ghost Agatha can make herself solid so that’s what’s going to happen to save money
I think Agatha was a ghost in the comics.
I think I heard that Agatha ending up as a ghost was one of the goals of the show.
She was a ghost in the comics, and Wandas mentor.
Yes in the Scarlet Witch comic, where Wanda goes to the Witches Road, Agatha is a ghost mentor.
Yes, Agatha’s been a ghost for a long, long time in the comics until she found a way to get a new body
Vision is coming back in his own show. Vision Quest
I like that Agatha wasn’t redeemed. Especially because I didn’t particularly feel the most sympathy for her. Sure, losing Nicky is definitely sad, but her actions caused any sadness I felt for her to drop a lot. But hey, I don’t hate her, and I still think she’s fun.

Rio wasn't frightening to Nicky because she knew he wasn't frightened of her.
Excellent as always! If either of you did not catch it when it came out, House of Usher would be a great reaction show.
I would like to see the doggo in a Wiccan costume.

Sword.
Thank you! I knew it was some kind of weapon or armor!
As a father of 6.... that "newborn" is MASSIVE.... She's gunna be walking funny for a century. They could have picked a more newborn size baby.
😂😂😂 they aren’t allowed to use real newborns unfortunately. So it’s either small doll or big baby 😅
16:34 right!!! The ghost is so not it.
