- An excellent day out on the 80th annual Pioneer run from Epsom to Brighton. Riding my lovely RD250 .
It was such a good day with fantastic Spring weather that I have done 2-3 parts.
A lot of laughing and general heavenly 2 stroke fun.
That’s a cracking bike you’ve got there 😎 I’m watching this thinking I’m 17 again 😂
Cheers Paul. Makes me feel 17 again.......The good old, bad old day's.
Me to my friend, I had an rd250b, still wish I was 17 years old, unfortunately, my brain is, but my body is definitely not!
That’s such a cool bike! 😎
Cheers man
Oh the memories! My RD 350 was one of the most fun bikes Ive owned. 😎
That's just such a beautiful little bike. I owned two of the later 'E' coffin-tank models in the eighties. They were great. I preferred them to the 400 (too thirsty without being that much faster). I'd love another but they cost stupid money.
My era was the 70's. I do have a love of the RD250. Never owned a 400 and they are just as costly. Cheers
Bike is sounding and looking lovely
Thanks, was a beautiful day all round
Thxs, that’s so good to see and hear it again! God I loved mine ! Thxs!
Glad you enjoyed
This is so similar to the YDS7 that my brother had. When did the RD250 come out? I had a new RD250E in 1979. I got it cheap because it was the last of the wire wheel models and everyone wanted the new mag wheels.
When I was at college a mate of mine bought a new RD250, the one with the squarish tank, it would have been 1975 or 1976. I wanted that bike so much, it was so much more than my Suzuki GT125.
I guess that's why I bought this one as it took me back to when I was 17 and I don't think I will lose money on it......Mine was the coffin tank version back in the day with a disc brake. It sure was the bike of an era!!! Cheers Tony
That goes well , That was a nice 45 flathead believe it or not got a dl 45 engine in my shed I bought 20 years ago and was going to do something with 3 house moves later and still gathering dust , Cheers mate got to say a bit jealous of you with that I would love one
Hey get your engine sorted, be worth a bob or two now!! Glad you like the RD, certainly brought some big smiles to my face.
Really awesome bike and lovely sound, I really should come on this ride out next year as I know that cafe well. Good video but I thought you was in Thailand. =)
Thanks Andy. It sure was a grand day out in perfect weather, Love to see the old bikes running.
Just like my 'N' plate one..
(I had a front disc)
😄 happy days.
Happy days indeed.
First large motorcycle I rode was a 1973 M reg RD250A belonging to Steve Burrows my neighbour. It had a front disc though.
Nice, was the first bike I had as well at 17 years old after my FS1E
Nice
That 750 Yamaha a mate had one of them in the day. Thats the only other one I have seen since then, the Z900 cant beat em.
Yeah gotta love the Z900, I lusted after those for years and i still hold a candle for them.
My first bike at 16 was a Honda cd 175 , then had a yds7 250 , how im still hear i dont know, it ruled me couldn't stop giving it a thrashing, anyhow 68 now and just found a minter yamaha Yds7 paid a fortune for it but i had to have, but i will not be riding like when i was 17 thats for sure.
Hi Steven, those were the days. All different now!!
YDS7 is a great bike, you must enjoy it. Take care
I pass my test on my 1975 RD the only time it let me down when I went to work on very cold day and carbs froze up but after 15 mins the heat from the engine thawed them and I was on my way again
Haha....I passed my test on one in 1977 on my 17th birthday!!! Cheers EDDIE

@@davexs thanks dave new helmet ordered yesterday i will see how it goes when it turns up
Gorgeous bike. Is it a B model. How reliable are them, in the long term? Thanks
This is the model before A and B and C Just called the RD250. Being a 2 stroke they do need maintenance.
is it 5 or 6th gear? what sprockets are you using? looks like mine has lower power from low to middle than yours.
Is that a UK spec bike or an import?
It's a UK bike
Love ❤ it.
🙏🙏
I have ridden a RD350 and that went like a shower of s**t!!
Not a fan then I take it?
@@davexs You gotta love a classic, went like a shower of s**t means it was quick not that it was s**t 😀🏍👍
@@banditnev AH! When I say shower of shit it means it's bloody useless!!!!! You bloody Aussie's always upside down.......haha :D
