- I have been going to Verralls since I was a kid. It is a well-hidden secret only known to the keenest of old motorcycle enthusiasts. It is a fantastic old fashioned traditional place to find the perfect old motorcycle to buy. The majority are in superb original “oily rag” condition - the condition we all hope to find one in. Whilst the bikes are closely packed, they are more than happy to pull a bike out so that you can see it and let you take it for a ride if you are serious.
They are very friendly and have many decades of knowledge, even if you know little about ancient motorcycles, they will have a chat and help you decide.
It is a fantastic living museum - BUT you can buy what you see!
If you ride a motorcycle as you enjoy adventures, they you will get plenty on an old bike and join a community of splendidly eccentric characters!
You can see their stock and where they are - www.verralls.com/

Thanks for sharing! Great collection of bikes indeed!
Glad you like them!
I don't know if I could handle the emotion of being amongst all these gorgeous vintage bikes. I'm in my mid 60s and am trying to get enough dosh to buy at least one, before I'm too old to ride. In my early 20s I was informed of an old bike in the shed of an abandoned house on a village edge, inherited by someone not using it. I went with a mate one night and we managed to open the lock and get in. There it was, a Brough Superior, decayed tyres and rust patina. I didn't know anything about Broughs then....it was just an interesting old bike. But the access dirt track passed another house, so I was always scared of nipping up with a van to rescue the bike. A few years later I heard someone else grabbed it. Never forgave myself for that.
In my youth in the 70s - 80s old bikes were easy to come by for a song. I had Triumphs, a Cossack and a Bantam while I was unemployed! Nowadays you almost need a second mortgage to buy them. I sold them all when I became a dad😢 Stupid!
Glad you enjoyed it and that it brought back many memories. Still time to get one and tell the Mrs it's an investment. Best regards Paul
more classics pls
Having re-lined HRD tanks with gold leaf, it's interesting to see the line thickness and position on the '48 Rapide. Whether the line should follow around the tank or taper in toward the back for a more waisted look is a point of debate.
The original bikes are the ones to use to get it period correct, hope it helped - Paul.
worth a look for The Derby alone.
sound level is sooo low, can barely hear commentary.
Will talk louder in future ones 👍
They gave Harley Davidson a run for it in the 60s
True. This Rapide did 110 mph when new
you did this cos the dandy, fred dobbs went there, right
No idea who Fred is, but thanks for taking the time to comment
