Memory lane for me. My first bike as a teen back in 1966 was a Bantam and I loved it. And then in 2016 I bought an Indian Scout in traditional red as he has here at the nine minute mark. He's right, it was boring, but only if left stock. Put some decent pipes on it and give it a proper tune and it sounded like it owned the road and performed to suit.

That was brilliant. What a collection. And a lot of knowledge. I remember Death Hill. I was born and grew up in Kent. And my Dad was a motorcyclist. It was a long time ago. But I seem to remember the council realigned the road. And the sign came down. I looked up your East Kent sprint. Comes up as Betteshanger. Presumably the old colliery site. When the pits were still running a few had badminton teams that played in the leagues. I used to play in those leagues. Then the pits closed and those towns turned into ghost towns. You could buy a house there for next to nothing. Same with all the docks houses, when they closed. Kent has an amazing history.

@@davetaylor4741 I lived in Deal for 25 years all my family are still there. Deal is a thriving town now and incredibly busy during the summer months.
My Grandad was pit deputy at Bettshanger many years ago. The park was what called the slag heap from the mine.

My Mrs was listening to this as I was watching.
She said; "How many motorbikes has he got?? I bet he's not married!'
I replied; 'Obviously not to you dear...'

This video made my day!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful , brilliant, fantastic collection of motorcycles with us!!!! No one else made motorcycles as good as the British. I had a BSAA50 Royal Star 1970 and a BSAA75 Rocket 3 1972 and I greatly miss both.Greetings from Virginia USA.

Cracking video. I've heard a lot about this chap from others, but have yet to meet him. I've even been at the same Kent motorcycle shows, on my Enfield Diesel, at the same time as this chap, but our paths have still not crossed. Nice collection. 👍💯🇬🇧😎

With the GREATEST RESPECT, I have just noticed this and obviously Dave must be very well known, however i have no idea who Dave is !? I can relate to the lotus cortina as a colleague had one, also the "E type" jag as my mate like Dave had an engine for a brain and served his time with ecosse at Merchison Mews in Edinburgh, Jim Dickson a wonderful guy, The original Lotus that Jim Clark drove is back on show in his museum in Duns Scottish Borders. I think it's on loan from an Italian owner. Thanks for expert info Dave and i probably should know about you, they call it brain fog nowadays. Thank you.

Just a small note the wording came up with the bantam as a d5 it's a b175 not a d5.
Loved the video wish I had the time and money for collection like this.

Must admit, having seen a couple of Jaguar engined trikes... I would by far prefer that engine in the e type it came from. Love all the motorbikes though 👍❤️👍

Stanley Sprocket, put a RR Merlin engine into a moped. BUT... due to the weight ratio, it wouldn't move forward!
    Thus it was deemed... "Useless!!"
