I agree with many points but about Durrani,
He did defeat the Marathas in one battle at Panipat, but when he was made aware of a bigger Maratha host riding for Delhi he was quick to retreat. He also sued for peace via his letters to the Peshwa(the head of the Maratha government).
Overall Panipat was a battle that was won by the afghanis through the skill of Ahmed shah Durrani, the incompetence of Sadashivrao, and some religious backstabbing to the Marathas by the Nawab of Oudh. The Marathas were quick to regain every inch of lost territory and then smoke, but the war was still a destabilising factor for the somewhat fragile system of governance of the Marathas. Soon the empire became increasingly decentralised, commonly now referred to as the Maratha Confederacy. Eventually, this gave way to the stat on state politics which allowed the Europeans to take advantage, which was pure RNG as outside Europe, the Indian subcontinent had the most active use of firearms. Thew durranis themselves fell into a bit of infighting as well as getting stomped by the Sikh empire.
About the Indian volunteer army in WW 1 and 2. That is on us, or more so the congress. There are even theories that the INC was more so a pressure lid than a freedom movement to the British. They were more afraid of the INA of Subhash Chandra Bose than a self-starving Gandhi.
Also F#CK the Mughals. It truly is hilarious that some people from the subcontinent only hail the barbaric monsters as heroes on one hand whose atrocities made the Europeans (except Spain & Portugal) look like some hippies.

They never was a huge population of the Indian people here in New Orleans, but I think my grandfather knew every single one of them that did settle here because he would always make sure to seek them out and to welcome them here because of how much he really loved them

One quote that I love in one of my books are "remember that the way people thought during that time reflected the politics of that time" in a way they acknowledge the wrongdoings of colonialism without blaming modern day Europeans for it. They reflect on the way that things just were the way they were because that's what that time period entailed. Other European countries invaded other European countries. The Ottoman Empire try to come into Europe as well. Yet these were often forgotten or people just didn't care about it because we don't pretend to have an innocent history because we very well know that no single country/culture has an innocent history. That also helps. I just hope people will never do it again... although Russia is now invading Ukraine, but that was the leader that decided that the people were all surprised. Saying something like "Muslim" colonisers is same as saying "Christians" colonised Europe. Which though is true to some extent but is very different from British colonialism of Asian and African countries where British were invaders and not natives to the land.
They were racially motivated to commit acts of racial violence against people of the land and consider them as not equal humans.
They looted from their counties and made themselves rich and then they made a run back to their countries leaving the natives of the colonies to die from famine.
Muslims were almost always natives of the land they ruled. They never took the wealth out other nation in most cases and made the areas they ruled as their country or capital, they didn't rule from London from example.

It’s ironic, hilariously embarrassing, but anti-British for a Pakistani to try and claim that the disunity between Indians and Pakistanis only occurred because of Britain, when it was the Muslims in India that pushed for their own state because they didn’t want to be ruled by a non-Muslim majority.
He is playing on an anti-white, anti-British, anti-western narrative that because Indians are Pakistanis are both South Asian and ‘brown’ then they must have always seen themselves as united brothers, when it was their huge cultural differences that distinguish them from each other more than anything.

@@ryujin9568 that’s very unlikely. Suggesting that every other group that didn’t survive to this point simply weren’t as tough or resilient as the celts is really just an insult to them. It’s much more likely that the English just cared much less about homogeneity in their nation (which is generally pretty much true, it’s very individualist and hasn’t done much historically to force the English together). England also recognised the Welsh people very early on, the Welsh really didn’t have to do much fighting to exist, the English gave it to them during the Tudor period.
Finally the celts are not resilient at all, they dominated most of Europe and lost pretty much all land they covered.

I love the argument of “we are not taught (insert subject matter here.)” Problem with this narrative is that no one is actively stopping you from learning about world history, at least when it comes to living in Britain and The United States, and pretty much any other country that doesn’t actively censor the materials used to research and read up on recorded history. Primary schools are meant to give broad information, especially when it comes to history. If you want to learn about specific times or places in history in great detail in an academic setting, you will pretty much have to go to a university.

Mughal Empire Sultanate also United India. He was talking about Mughal Empire. Yes, it was in decline but another Muslim power would have emerged on the same scale as usual after some time if chaos , in a natural state, if it wasn't for UK and others intervention and manipulation and then colonialism.
Yes, you said alot of facts, true.
But, at the end of the discussion in 1946-47 Watson and few others came with the idea to make the problem with Kashmiri and drew the line - Radcliffe Line. As usual with no regard to anything but chaos on purpose by no care and putting some pieces there and there. Who assassinated mahatma gandhi? The actor is one of his realtives that he was a bit mental. But who is the orchestrator? UK. Because if Gandhi meet he would have solved the Kashmiri problem in a way or another.
Also, it doesn't matter fact here. Regardless of his bs. People hate Europe and USA governments and those whom is racist people amongst them. Same in China too and Africa.
British themselves where surprised with their success. They sort of win because: division, manipulation of the heighest level by the British, traitors, bad leaders, it gone on for a longtime, Indian bad traitor leaders. Because even during colonialism India was still controlled by Indian rulers in behalf of UK. A portion of Indian leaders decided to use the British. Also the UK used a class of people against the other. They and their traitors Ailes gang banged any good guy.
It is a fact Mughal Empire Sultanate had 35% of the world economy at the time and UK did steal tone of stuff. The value of it especially by time is in my opinion priceless and even if they give us all of USA economy would not be enough and not even close.
You ignoreing Mughal Empire Sultanate whom ruled India for 800 years and before that there was Delie Sultanate whom lasted for 200 years but for 50 yers ish controlled most of India. The guy was talking about Mughal Empire.
Ya because those Indian soldiers that fought for colonialisers are part of the problem itself and they are traitors to their people. At least to their village.
Ya exactly their entire ancestry. They where a specific class of Indians that UK created as a tool to secure control over India useing Indians. Those where already living well for most of them.
Also treatment of solders it doesn't denie the racism and what tgey still where doing to the majority of indains in the Indian subcontinent.
About your last point. There is an Arab proverb goes exactly like this "me and brother against the/my cousin. Me and my cousin against the foreign". They shared borders and close to eachothers not the other side of the world.
Eye for an eye my friend. And if it makes the world "blind", then so bad whatsoever. Blind physically with pride is better than haveing eyes without pride/your honor being attacked. We can/could forgive , but that is our chose and who have the right to do any. We chose eye for an eye.
Muslims where not exactly doing what Islam says really. They where Mongolia first and Muslim second. Alot of Muslims in Middle-east at the time would have called them hypocrites. But , they where not as bad as the British and they lived there. They are no colonizers.

I don't agree with reparations as well but due to entirely different reasons. First of all England can never pay back for all the atrocities and tyranny committed here. Putting a monetary cap on those would be disrespectful to all those who have died due to the unfair governance during colonial times.
Secondly, reparations in the form of apologies would be much more appreciated than some sum of money.
Thirdly, even if England wanted to give monetary payment, whom would it be given to - the raj has been divided into India, Pakistan, bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan and Pakistani economies are falling so they might need some aid, but India and Bangladesh don't.
And, these are not the only countries who were colonised.
If, England starts giving reparations to all the colonised countries in monetary form, it would go into debt.
Improving trade relations and investing in those economies would be much better than going the other route.

And yet, the ability of the Sanatana Dharma to absorb the light from all sources (which was the pluralism that Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda supported) has allowed it prosper. Despite the harms committed by Islamic invasions in the North (people like Aurangzeb were particularly problematic), there were also more harmonious interactions in the South as well as in many parts of the North thanks to the pluralistic efforts of people such as Kabir and even Emperor Akbar (to a certain extent). I would also say that British rule was significantly worse than any other major Empire as it was during their period when India's economy stagnated and declined. During the Mughal era and before, it was one of the largest in the world. The Mughals did not carry the Taj Mahal out of India. Throughout history, people have faced opposition when they tried to express the truth. Prophet Muhammad was famously forced to escape from Mecca to Medina in order to escape persecution. The early Christians faced animosity from both the Jews and the Romans. What was done to the Jews during the 20th century is not hidden from most individuals. India, and Sanatana Dharma, have thankfully had and incorporated ideas such as Advaita Vedanta and Anekantavada that have helped it see the truth in more than one location. The Islamic view of Wahdat al Wujud has some interesting points of agreement with Advaita (particularly on the idea of the unity of being). Of course, we should not be ignorant and pretend that Islamic extremism and other threats do not exist. I only hope that such issues can be resolved through a meaningful dialogue rather than potentially immensely destructive conflicts that would cause a loss of much that is valuable. 🙏🇮🇳☮️☮️

He gives the French, and British Officers and Explorers credit for rediscovering the ancient sites and helping preserve them.
He says the Muslim Invaders tried to destroy alot of the Sacred Temples and even tried to outlaw other Religions such as Hinduism, that's why there were wars.
The British Never outlawed The Hindu Religion or destroyed your ancient architecture!

So your point is kinda moot.
Doesn't matter if Mughal rulers where not ethnic Indians (whatever that means. Technically there is no such thing as an Indian ethnicity, race, culture or religion. It's a patchwork of hundreds if not thousands of ethnicities). India as a "Nation" was kinda invented when the English created the British Indian Empire.
In short, every nation is another nation's "invader" and not one is exempt of the sin of domination. Some rulers in history are individually worst than some others, but don't let that overshadow the achievements of the other "good" rulers that existed in every dynasty line.

Before 1947, there was no "sync" between us nd mainland India. Same goes for states like Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalay. As well as Sikkim. And you speak about "fantasies".
And I said that Roman Empire had ruled a "lot of Europe", that is why there is a LOT of similarities between the languages and cultures of Spain, Italy, France etc, just like how their is a LOT of cultural similarities between UP, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. People from these states can EASILY shift between them and will require minimum amount of cultural and linguistic adjustment. Whereas, say, if a Haryanavi person wants to shift to Kerela, the cultural and linguistic adjustments will be greater, and if he/she wants to shift Arunachal or Nagaland, then the cultural and linguistic adjustment will be same as moving into a different country because of the racial, historical, cultural and linguistic differences.
And that is why I was comparing India to a united Europe. Just like how their is minimal cultural and linguistic differences between the states of Hindi belt, the same applies to the countries that were integral in the Roman Empire (Italy, France, Spain and Portugal). The linguistic diffence between these countries is minimal as these languages are more or less derived from Vulgar Latin. And same for their cultures.

Rome had not control or local administrative muscle. Rome was just an urban centric civilisation.
India & China have always been different, we had very well established hierarchical systems. The administration structure was identical all over India, Even British operated in same structure, which is why they managed to expand so quickly, and local populations had not problems.

      1. To counter your "Rome was just urban centric", so were all Indian empires that controlled majority of the Indian subcontinent. That is why there is such diversity in India. We often joke that languages change every 50KM or so in India. Why do you think that is ? It is because all pan-India empires like the Gupta, Maurya, Mughal, Maratha, British India etc were also urban centric.
      2. Not all settles communities follow the Varna system in north-east. My father's tribe, the Apatani, have been settled for centuries. We have private properties and paddy fields that go back generations. And we had no clue what Varna system was until 1947.
      3. You fail to see similarities between the Republic of India and a hypothetical united Europe.
(A.) You can equate the countries of the Romance languages (French, Spainish, Italian and Portuguese) with the Hindi belt. These countries are linguistically similar, just like the states of the Hindi belt where the lingua franca, i.e. Hindustani, is spoken albeit with different regional dialects.
(B.) You can compare the Slav and the Germanic people with the Dravidian group. Another major linguistic group who share more in common with their own fellow Slavic(Serbian Croatian, etc) /Germanic (the various tribes of Germany)/Dravidian (Tamils, Kannadiags, Telgu) ethnic groups than they with the Romance/Hindi belt group BUT still share lots of history together due to a large empire like the Roman (for Europe) and the Gupta, Maurya and the Mughal (for Indian subcontinent) that ruled them all together for some time atleast.
(C.) You can compare the Sami, a minority group in various nordic countries, with the various tribes of north east due to the fact that they are a minority w.r.t. population, culture and language.

Other provinces themselves refused to help Bengal but when the British Rac Central government forced them to help, they all complained that the British Raj Government is breaking the Government of India Act 1935. PM McKenzie King of Canada offered to send grain but Churchill argued that it would take a lot of time so instead ordered Australia to send 440000 tons of wheat to Bengal in the middle of a World War. He also did a grain swap with Sri Lanka or Ceylon. 50000 tons of grain blew up in Bombay docks. Viceroy of India, Lord Wavell on seeing the situation, called in the Indian Army in the middle of the war to distribute food. Since most of the soldiers were North Indians eating primarily wheat based bread or roti and most Bengalis were rice eaters, the population had to be trained. Also Hindu Marwari merchants were hoarding grain even when Bengalis were dying all around them as they were connected to Congress and wanted to destabilize the ruling Muslim majority party of Bengal, the Krishak praja Party.

Problem is that people forget the true definition of racism. Racism is a racial version of prejudice: A "preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience."
Racism is an irrational aversion or disdain of a group of people based on racial characteristics. He is irrational because it doesn't help him to dislike people based on racial characteristics, therefore making him racist.
However, I am not racist because my aversion to people based on racial characteristics is absolutely rational and justified, given how brainwashed and subversive so many people who look like him are, and from my experience of such people.
People like him are a danger to me, my culture and people, because nothing would make them happier than to see their group's perceived material and economic wealth, and number of people within their group surpass that of the native population - attoning the population of their racist colonial sins through being subjected to the same treatment (despite the fact that the victims of this treatment werent ever perpetrators in any colonialism, and certainly didn't kill off his group of people through the use of replacement migration as a weapon).

But still, every nation should keep in mind its own past and what other states have done to their nation, so that similar situations can be prevented from happening again and they can maintain their independence. For example, the Japanese and the Americans may have good relations now, which is a good thing. Im an Indian history student, while I disagree with the tik toker, India did have more than 20% of the worlds wealth, but that was even before the Muslims arrived, the Muslims simply used the wealth and trade networks that already existed, it was a rich land, but not necessarily a united land. Now as far as partition goes, British policies did have a huge influence, the rising educated class and Indian middle class were increasingly Nationalistic, The Brits feared a united Hindu Muslim front and did not want a second revolt like the 1857, and thus they utilised the existing rift between Hindus and Muslims, they did everything they could to prevent Hindus and Muslims from getting along and they succeeded, at the end of the day, the Brits were master strategists. And Lastly, India contributed so many troops to the British war effort because Gandhi and the Indian National Congress were absolutely against fascism, as oppressive as the brits were, they still werent brutal like the Nazis or the Japanese. Gandhi saw it as a war of morality where Germany could not be allowed to win, he urged Indians to volunteer in huge numbers, he even toned down protests and freedom struggle activities during the course of the war to allow Britain to focus on the war and not worry about losing India. So yeah, as bad as the tik toker was, you're slightly off the mark.

The Army of Cortez was pretty much 90% natives with some Conquistador Cavalry and Artillery.
The Spaniards/Europeans numbered less then 3000 soldiers while the Natives brought up to 200 000 warriors.
The Aztecs were absolutely despised by all their neighbours, when suddenly someone showed up from the ocean with strange beasts, metal equipment as well as things that go boom and cause explosions it wasn't really hard to convince them to join the fight against the ones who hunted everyone else for sport.
Sure we can take a far more cynical view that it was in all their self interest to take a rival down, but Cortez and his men could also very well be legendary warriors sent by heaven to defeat an evil Empire in someones epic tale from the past.
Yes Human Sacrifices were common in many Central American and South American cultures, but the Aztecs took it to a whole new level and excavation around their temples that discovered mass graves of sacrificed victims is pretty damning evidence that this wasn't made up by Christian clerics.
