@@dusksunsetio6042 It was SuLian that was wrong, but it does not change the fact that the empress was this petty, jealous woman who also wanted to bring down an innocent little boy. Empress could not stop banging on about the eldest prince "showing off" or crossing the line for being too "ambitious" in front of his father. For God's sake, he is just a little boy, without a mother, trying his best and doing everything he could to obtain his only living parent's love-his own father's affections. After all, he had nobody but his father to give him love and attention, sadly, he is barely getting any from his own father. He was even neglected and mistreated by his own nannies.
My hatred for the empress is stemmed from the fact that she would even be so unsympathetic and cold towards a child who always longed for his mother, even when he was dying, yonghuang only wanted a mother to give him the love and affection he deserved. Being hateful even against a child makes it easy to hate the empress. The empress could have been more understanding towards a little boy, but no, in her eyes, everything is about politics and women fighting for more favour and power. In her eyes, the little boy was just a power hungry prince willing to do anything to become the crown prince. If she would just wake up fron her own power hungry mindset and stop projecting it to everybody else around her, she would see that the little boy just wanted love from his parents and family that actually cared about him, eldest prince or not, he just want someone to love him as he is.
However, in reality, he was used by consort chun, Ruyi did not dare to fight to have him by her side, he was left all alone. His own father only valued him for being the eldest son, he did not even love his own son just for the sake of being his son, emperor only valued him like how he valued the most useful and valuable pawns and politicians that consolidates his power on the throne.
It was wrong for the empress to use her own son to fight against his own brother for the attention of the emperor. Yong huang only want unconditional parental love, the empress just have to make sure he does not even get a little bit of it from the emperor, eventhough, huang barely got any love from his own father. That is just cruel, the emperor is bad parent too, the empress was just too petty.

When Ruyi came out of the Cold Palace, Yuyan went (metaphorically) running to Luyun’s palace and got it into her head that it’s a bad thing that Ruyi is getting yonghuang back because Luyun spent three years with him while Ruyi spent like, a month? So if Ruyi did try to take Yonghuang back, Luyun mightve did something or started rumors
