    This grill includes many nice features. For starters, the grilling area is huge! There are 4 removable porcelain-enameled cast iron grilling grates. There are two charcoal boxes, with a divider in between. For smaller meals, it’s easy to only light charcoal on one side of the grill. The charcoal trays on each side of the grill can be raised or lowered, using an exterior handle. This is convenient if you want to sear a steak with it closer to the hot coals and then lower the charcoal tray for a slower cook. There are air flow adjustments on both sides, as well as an adjustable chimney on the top. There is a rack under the lid for grilling even more food! There is a small shelf on each side of the grill to place things while cooking. The built-in thermometer works well. Assembly was very straight-foorward and all components were well-labeled. I’ve been very satisfied with the performance of this grill so far.

    Do u think this grill would be good to grill wagyu steaks or reg prime steaks I like to set a steak in indirect heat first until I get internal temps that I like then I like to put it in direct fire to get a nice sear & this dual divider seams like it work what do u think ?

    • @averagejoe1739
      @averagejoe1739 Год назад +1

      Or would filling one side up & just lowering the pan all the way down low work the same ?

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  Год назад

      That’s a matter of personal preference. Sometimes I sear first and then switch to indirect to achieve the desired meat temperature. In my opinion, searing first is best because it locks in the juices.

  • @5150roc

    The only issue I see here is between the two separate charcoal holders. The up and down arm mechanism to be exact. When cooking between the two holders, grease and food debris will spill/fall on the arms making it hard to clean. Within time you will have a grease and food buildup making it nearly impossible to keep the Mechanism arm clean. The more moving parts within the grill is not always good, especially when you want to keep your bbq clean, which in turn will effect how long the bbq will last.

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  7 лет назад +2

      +Michael L Those are great points. I love this grill but have had the charcoal removal tray become stuck, while sliding in and out. I also drilled a few holes in the charcoal tray so that rain can drain out and not collect in the tray.

    Hmmm nice charcoal grill but you must always practice and promote safety first all the time while grilling. The way you do this is by buying yourself a pair of nice shoes that will protect your bare feet from the hots coals that escaped your grill because you happened (using that built in bottle opener) to be drinking plenty of cold beers while grilling your steaks and hamburgers. Stay safe my friend.

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  8 лет назад +1

      murphb40 I'll try to film a video tomorrow if weather permits. My only complaint so far is minor. The tray that pulls out on the bottom middle with silver handle (catches ashes) but it also catches water. It should have sloped towards the middle with a hole for rain to drain out. That's only a problem if you store the grill uncovered like I do while not in use though. You can also just remove the tray while cool and not in use =) I haven't been able to identify any other cons with this grill yet. I absolutely love the porcelin-enameled cast iron great! They do a wonderful job of searing meat!
