- Kent is a city in Portage County, Ohio. It was incorporated as a village in 1867, became a city after the 1920 census. Kent became known as the "Tree City" when in the late 1800's, John Davey an expert horticulturalist planted hundreds of trees through out the city. Kent owes its origins to the Cuyahoga River, a natural asset that drew founding father Jacob Haymaker to establish a grist mill in 1805. Today Kent is a college town. Downtown has so many great shops, and restaurants for every palate.

❤ Thanks for watching.
It's been over 49 years since I've been in downtown Kent. My experience in fall, 1970 was that most businesses didn't want students around, let alone celebrate anything like the Holidays. Glad to see the 'ice' has broken.
Thanks for the comment and sharing.
Looking forward to studying at KSU in Aug2024 🥰
