Love your reviews!! Thank you!! Just got my Xtool P2s complete setup with the F1 and the safetypro. My first laser was the WeCreat Vision. Only a few project but I knew I needed BIGGER. Thanks for all your reviews
Clack, Thank you so much for doing an actual "hands on" testing review of this air filter, it is very appreciated. This looks like it will be a good quality filter unit for many different lasers. I filter my xtool out side through a shop vac and into the air, I have 2 major filters in the shop vac. I also have a Wecreat that I filter inside and you are correct about the filters, they are expensive, but I clean out the top one as much as I can. I would like to run the xtool through their new filter unit so that I am not annoying my neighbors with the shop vac, and this unit looks like it will be a good choice. Thank you again for your review.
Definitely one of the better review videos for the AP2. I appreciate the real world testing. Mine is already on the way, but I wanted to see the results people were getting. Honestly, I do think the filter pricing is pretty reasonable. About $180 for a full set replacement is a little high, but $20 for the first filter and $30 for the second, which are the two you will be replacing most often, isn't bad. The fact that you can buy them as needed rather than having to buy the set is a big selling point.
Just received mine. I plan to still vent outside but with clean air so that my neighbors don’t start complaining. I’ve calculated that (if the filters last as long as predicted), you’ll spend $3,500-7,000 on them during the anticipated lifetime of an XTool diode laser.
I’ve already ordered mine. With the £500 voucher and the discount vouchers I had from the previous purchases I managed to buy it for £389. That seems pretty reasonable to me for what it does. I would not have paid the full £1000 price.
I purchased the xtool laser bundle. I got the AP2 Safety pro filter. Unfortunately, owning it for less than 2 week, my ap2 filter won't stop giving me an error M9039 S4 error which shuts the laser down because the filter stops sucking out the smoke. Tried all their solutions. Nothing works
This is a good review, I can only imagine the moronic comments you get which require you to keep adding disclaimers lol. Great job man, I was really curious about this.
I love my AP2 so far, but there is one HUGE problem... Xtool has ensured that there will forever be demand for their filters by RFID tracking their time of useage, no matter what the conditions are or what you're cutting, if the filter is on it's "consuming" filter lifespan. There needs to be a hack where you can disconnect the RFID feature and override the system that tracks filter usage. I can just use compressed air to blow out the filters, which will significantly increase the advertised lifespan of the filter cartridges. This mod should be at THE TOP of everyone's list if you own one of these filters. I have already burned through the pre-filter in about 3 weeks of use. I don't need added expenses for my small business.
@@TheClackShack it does, I ran into this problem today. I don't use XCS so there's no way for me to keep track of how much life the filters have left. I'm just left with a red light telling me one of the filters is spent and I have no way of knowing which one. Blew a bunch of dust out of it today, but the red light always returns after 10 minutes or so.

You’re welcome, hope it helps!

The way the filters are sold is a plus. Using the cyclone properly should help keep the filter replacement to a minimum.

That is an added expense for those who need to filter. I am lucky..

Only this week... lol

Yea, the 1K price tag seems a bit high to me.
Got mine and just waiting on the fan unit, haven’t used the filter yet but will soon
It is effective so far.

Check all the firmware. It could be software related. Good luck
Great information! What kind of shop cart are you using for that setup?

I sure like to know which air monitor you used to test. Thank you n advance.

The prefilter can be cleaned. I don't think it disables the machine it it runs out of "lifespan".

@ I suspect an update is coming
Where can I get a cart like that?
I got this one at harbor freight. Amazon sells similar.
@ I'll check HF. I have one close. Do you remember the dimensions?

What’s the noise rating on the filter unit? How loud is it, or is it a passive unit relying on your existing exhaust system?
Can’t hear it over the S1 with it on auto. It has its own fan inside
What about using this for craft shows?
You could, it is a bit larger than most though.
So that’s not a toupee?😂🤣😂
Nope... the real thing..
