Siobhan and Brennan are absolute masters of their craft. That “You wanna go to Vagus?” line was absolutely inspired. I’m not ready for Mentopolis to end!
Their chemistry is always so good, but they've been killing it this season. They are always so committed to their characters.
I just landed here. Is this story taking place inside a human body? Or was Vegas just misspelled Vagus?

It's always so delightful in this series when Siobhan makes the rest of the cast fully commit to circular noir cliche nonsense dialogue
She and Trapp were fully immersed in noir tropes the entire time and it was so good.
Hank looks so happy with this banter, like a kid in candy store kinda happy

As a fan of D20, it must've been so surreal for Hank to have that POV of Brennan and an Intrepid Hero RP-ing live in front of him
I love that people empathize with Hank so much that he's become a viewer proxy.

People sometimes sleep on Siobhan because she doesn't have the unhinged chaos of Emily or Beardsley or the perfect comedic timing of Zac but she's such a great role player, she really gets to shine outside of the Intrepid Heroes and I can't wait to see what she can do in the new season
I don't know how they could. "spicy siobahn" is like my favourite D20 character right after "chaos Queen Emily" and "never back down from the bit Lou"
I think the intrepid heroes are all spectacular for such different reasons! I gotta say no one hits me in the feels as much as Lou
"Please Hold" will forever be my favorite part of any Dimension 20 campaign.

the irony of paranoia is that paranoid people are the most vulnerable to con artists. Phone scammers can get you to obey them by claiming hackers are in your computer. Conspiracy theorists use it to make money and occasionally encourage acts of terrorism. The whole advertising industry is built on creating new insecurities in people and selling the solution.

I love Siobhan as Adaine in Fantasy High, but I have to say Imelda is one of her best characters I've seen yet, she just fully embodies the chaos and complete "fuck around and find out" attitude in while still adding that poised femme fatale energy to it
I agree! She interweaves both sides of that energy so perfectly.
Siobhan is the most underrated cast member because she plays more cereberal or "smaller"* characters, but she is the emotional heart of the show. She's amazing at what she does, and the way she matches her wardrobe to her characters is so fun
I absolutely agree! She still taps into the comedic moments very well (like in this scene), but it always comes from a very honest and human place that also allows her to play the emotional beats so well, like you said.
Also, the wardrobe is always on point. I think the contrast between Pulse and Jaysohn shows just how much thought she puts into it.

You know I don’t know if it’s because she usually seems to play more timid characters but Siobhan is a really good character actor

It had similar energy to her character in Unsleeping City, but more unhinged. I absolutely love it

I didn't really like Siobhan at first but having watched more d20 I realized how casually great she is at roleplaying. She doesn't beat people over the head with her acting, but the way she subtly gets into every character and how she makes them all distinct...now I'm a huge fan. Glad her improv skills got to shine this season!
Watching Fantasy High I initially found it difficult to like her, but she grew on me pretty quickly as the campaign went on. I've since immediately loved every single character she's played. Looking back i think she was just a bit anxious and unsure of herself at first.

I can't believe I haven't seen this sooner! As good as The Fix & Pasha N. are, this happened and I was *immediately* boarding the ship! This became my favorite pair immediately, it was just too good!!! 🤩
Also, I just have to say - even though they kept maming jokes about "it'll *definitely* last", I actually think it would! Because it's kind of genius - she justifies his hypervigilance because he really does have to be ready for anything with her! And she can wild out and do whatever craziness comes to mind, because he'll always be watching her back! I can't even, this whole season was just. SO. *GOOD* ! 🤩
This is still Impulse and Hypervigilance we're talking about. He could be worried about Imelda cheating, she could get bored of just having the one partner.

they really are like a perfect storm of each being precicely unhinged in the exact way needed to counterbalance the other.
Tbh I feel Imelda would be delighted at the prospect of having an estranged husband she has a turbulent relationship with. Yes they would last, but it would be the kind of relationship that’s like “This is objectively unhealthy but you guys are fucked up in complementary ways so you should stay together.”

I didn't understand until this moment that Mentopolis was an Osmosis Jones type beat and not just a weird 1920's with anthropomorphized objects and i have absolutely no idea how to feel about it

This was the best season of Dimension20 I've watched yet. 😂 I've heard lots of people like Starstruck or Fantasy High best, but I'm not into sci-fi and the Fantasy High characters are too jerkish for me.
This or Neverafter are up there for my favorite seasons. I really enjoyed Starstruck. It certainly has some sci-fi elements, but is more goofy and ridiculous than anything else. It feels a lot like a Borderlands game, honestly.
Just finished A Court of Fey and Flowers waiting for the last episode of Mentopolis. Loved it.
For what it's worth, the jerkish nature of the characters gets pretty much entirely resolved by the end of season 1 for fantsy high. they are much more coherent and cohesive at season 2 when they've each gotten through their initial character arc and the players can focus on the deeper dynamics of the characters :)
Ragh Barkrock's character development alone is reason to immediately watch season 2 after season 1 lol.
Also, if you are interested in the world of Spire still but with a different cast, I cannot recommend The Seven highly enough. the group has entirely its own dynamic and it is so infectiously good vibes. There's also basically no required reading in regards to Fantasy High save knowing that Zelda and Gorgug are dating (and even then it hardly ever comes up), that Penny was Riz's baby sitter (mentioned even less), and that Sam and Penelope Everpetal were pseudo-adoptive sisters/are exes (but the dynamics of which are pretty much entirely new to The Seven's characterization of Sam).
unsleeping city will always be my fave but starstruck and this season are really up there for me
the show is definetely getting better and better! which is so exciting because i really thought there would be nothing better than fantasy high freshman year when i first watched it, but now a court of fey and flowers, starstruck and mentopolis are my favorites! i also really love mice and murder, which mentopolis reminded me of
