Frasier is a classic and definitely one of my all time favourite sitcoms. David Hyde Pierce is absolutely right. The episodes hold up so well. I can re-watch an episode countless times and it can still elicit the same laugh out loud reaction. The writing and the acting is simply phenomenal.
I admit when the show came out, I was young and the style of show jus wasn't my thing but 20 yrs later and watching the reruns, I admit I love the show! It's definitely an older audience and mature cast so now that I'm in my late 30s , i can appreciate it more.
"I like the way his mind works. He's a visionary, and he cares about the....... little people. That's why I'm proud to say that I'm behind Phil Patterson for Congress."
I still watch Frasier re-runs. It's one of the shows that never got stale towards the end. The writing was still fresh and funny towards the end. Plus none of the major cast members never left. I always thought Niles and Daphne would have a spin off but oh well.
Frasier never ages. I love all the characters and actors. There lives definitely weren't stagnant😂😂. IMO all sesons were great! I loved Ronnie. She and Marty were great together💞💞
Hubby and I absolutely LOVE Frasier. We've watched the entire series three times in the last 5 years. Boring? Not a chance! Each time we watch it, we pick up new things that we missed the previous go-around. The story line is timeless, the plot kept us rivoted to the tv, and the humor is second to none! They don't make programs like Frasier any more because today's writers have no talent or imagination!
I'm like that with Steven Universe and The Venture Bros, I love when a show has so many layers that you can rewatch and pick up new things each time 😊 Frasier is a fantastic show too, in fact I've just started a rewatch myself, and I'm on the 17th episode! And despite being mostly lesbian, I have to say, David Hyde Pierce was _damn_ cute back then! 😄
I love David Hyde Pierce. He's a great actor. His portrayal of Niles Crane he's hilarious, witty, smart. If I didn't know he was acting, I'd think he & Frasier were really brothers 😅
He brings up a good point, it's timeless in the writing since it covers a lot of general dramas. The only thing that gives it away of courses is the fashion and technology.
Frasier is such a wonderfully soothing show for me; part of it is just it being naturally funny and part of it is the inborn nostalgia of my childhood. DHP is a gift to us all.
kawasakininja13 I'm watching an episode of Frasier right now.it's my all time favourite sitcom.the writing is superb and I especially love the character of Frasier..so pretentious and over sensitive...the only negative for me was the introduction of Daphne's family. being English, I've had more than enough of awful English sitcoms so they kinda spoiled it for me.
I was so disappointed because they all had different regional accents , were totally unbelievable and lowered the quality of the show.i found it quite embarrassing.
Perhaps the American writers were having a bit of a dig at some representations of American characters on British TV. Given how skillfully all the other characters were realised, this is a possibility.
Catching this video in October of 2021. All of these folks are just so endearing -- Katie, Sigourney and David -- thank you for sharing your talents and gifts and wit with us. So heart warming and uplifting. You all look so great, rested and simply mah ve lous. God bless you.
My dad and I absolutely loved the Frasier show. David Hyde Pierce, Kelsey Grammer , John Mahoney etc.. are legendary. I just like to say , may my father Thomas Timothy Thomas and, John Mahoney and David Angell all RIP- ty so much for everything 🙏
It is now 2023, and despite owning the Box sets--I'm still watching the shows alternately on two TV Stations every week day morning in the UK David mentioned the writings, and that is absolutely one half of a unmatchable whole, the other ,being the superb acting.
Really enjoy Frasier - have all of the series' and am making my way thorough them all. Amazing the quality considering there are so may episodes in every series.
Currently rewatching Frasier and it's so good. The writing is frequently genius, as are the performances, and even the weaker episodes are of a standard that most sitcoms would aspire to. It's without doubt one of the greatest sitcoms of all time, if not the best.
Wow. It's been 27 years now...and it's still my favorite show. I wish they had done a Niles and Daphne spin off. 27 years ago...we couldn't watch it on a flat screen HD 4k tv.
April 2020 and I am still laughing. Still the best show, in my humble opinion. "Frasier" is truly timeless and wonderful! "Cheers" got a Full HD release, I do hope that "Frasier" will get the same treatment, it certainly deserves it.
I just rewatched all eleven seasons on USA Netflix. 264 episodes altogether, it was quite a big commitment, but worth it, because it was still as cool and lovable as it was when it first came out when I was in my teens! Was a superbly nostalgic blast!
People are amused at how much I liked "Frasier," given I was never enthusiastic about "Cheers. "There was nothing like "Frasier" before it, or since. It's my favorite comedy ever, and among good company for favorite show ever. Clever writing, biting wit, and actors to deliver the goods, right down to the ensemble and guest characters-is there a better recurring one than Bee Bee Glazer? I think to myself of the out loud belly laughs I got from that show. I especially loved how the writers toyed with me on occasion too. Best example: being led to believe Frasier was meeting Maris at the Cafe once, only to find out it was Marta. And it really does all hold up well. It's a shame, though not surprising, that no one was able to spin off from this. And it was in effect, it was pretty much the end of Gilpin and Leeves' careers as actresses. Only "Andy Griffith" (first 5, B/W seasons) even comes close to the same brilliance of "Frasier."
It's strange you mention you weren't enthusiastic about Cheers. I only got to like and appreciate Cheers after the Frasier series finished. Frasier was in my age vintage and I was a bit too young for much of Cheers. I only got to like Cheers due to watching Frasier. I would have Frasier above Cheers. Cheers gets a lot of points because of its song, bar and Norm but didn't have not much else.
Just saw this clip today. I thought it was Jane Leaves and DHP that Katie was interviewing. It was not until later in the interview that I realized it was Sigourney Weaver.
Frasier is the best sitcom ever, the writing was inspired and the characters, second to none. I have watched every episode to the point where I know most of the lines and it never fails to have me in stitches.
Most Frasier fans probably don't know this tid bit: in the episode odd man out I believe season 5 a woman leaves a message on Frasier's answering machine mistaking it for her brother in law saying she needs to be picked up at the airport from American airlines flight 11. The chilling part is the shows creator David Angell and his wife Lynn were actually on American 11 on Sept 11 2001. Spooky.
I just binged watched all the episodes on Cheers and now I shall start watching all the Frasier episodes too. I must also try and watch the Wings series too.
I love Frasier. David Hyde Pierce has the absolute best whole body comedy skill I have ever seen. It's a rare attribute and one that he is so exceptional at. I was happy to see the writers use it now and then. (The ironing of the pants episode is the best one.) I must say though, on the other side of the coin, I don't watch the episodes with Frasier's son. (The poor child could not act, and did not resemble anything remotely close to either of his parents, thus making it awkward to believe.) But having said that, the show was simply outstanding as was David Hyde Pierce.
Aww, poor Frederick Gaylord... certainly an awkward looking kid, though I don't know about his acting abilities, or lack of. Anyway, good point about DHP's whole body comedy skill, and of course as soon as I read this, I could see him ironing his pants, and the chaos it lead to. Genius.
I miss Frasier so SO much. Just re-watched the entire series after not having seen it since it aired, and I swear it was the best comedy on TV. I'm having withdrawal symptoms now. Why don't they bring it back?! X-files did! (wishful thinking).

I point to the fact Frasier's was always the uptight and snobby one on Cheers, but just adapted to make friends.
30 years since Frasier debuted and here I am watching it all over again. Such a great show
Looks like Island Niles is back!
Good one.
No one has mentioned how great Sigourney Weaver looks at 63!
Frasier is a classic and definitely one of my all time favourite sitcoms. David Hyde Pierce is absolutely right. The episodes hold up so well. I can re-watch an episode countless times and it can still elicit the same laugh out loud reaction. The writing and the acting is simply phenomenal.
Absolutely! I say the same. I bought all the episodes over a year ago on Apple TV and I watch 3-6 episodes a day as I’m retired now
I admit when the show came out, I was young and the style of show jus wasn't my thing but 20 yrs later and watching the reruns, I admit I love the show! It's definitely an older audience and mature cast so now that I'm in my late 30s , i can appreciate it more.
"I like the way his mind works. He's a visionary, and he cares about the....... little people. That's why I'm proud to say that I'm behind Phil Patterson for Congress."
Kelsey Grammer & David Hyde Pierce are probably the bets casting ever for a tv show -Pure class, elegance, funnybones and wit ;)
The last great sitcom, still watch to this and is still funny.
@sir loin Did you really call the guy an asshole for liking a show?
Interesting how, as he gets older, he increasingly looks like Kelsey Grammer.
In fact, he was cast on Frasier *because* the producers thought that he looked like Grammer when he began in Cheers.
TheJFGB93 They do look so much alike .
Not at all. The show began some days before I was even born. It is just something I've read in some other places around the web.
TheJFGB93 Ahhh well they were a wonderful team .
Sal m weren’t we all more handsome 25 years ago
I still watch Frasier re-runs. It's one of the shows that never got stale towards the end. The writing was still fresh and funny towards the end. Plus none of the major cast members never left. I always thought Niles and Daphne would have a spin off but oh well.
The last seasons are barely watchable except some great episodes
Frasier never ages. I love all the characters and actors. There lives definitely weren't stagnant😂😂. IMO all sesons were great! I loved Ronnie. She and Marty were great together💞💞
I stopped watching when Niles and Daphne got together. Tried a few times but it never did it for me after that. Still watch the early seasons though.
His facial hair finally got past the "research and development" phase!
Ellie Avenelle i can't even count how many times ive watched frasier. It almost never gets old. It is my go to.
I'm like that with Steven Universe and The Venture Bros, I love when a show has so many layers that you can rewatch and pick up new things each time 😊 Frasier is a fantastic show too, in fact I've just started a rewatch myself, and I'm on the 17th episode! Me & Hubby love it too!
more cause today's liberal society are a bunch of insensitive stuck up you know what who can't take a joke anymore
I still see frasier... such an inteligent sitcom...
I love David Hyde Pierce. He's a great actor. His portrayal of Niles Crane he's hilarious, witty, smart. If I didn't know he was acting, I'd think he & Frasier were really brothers 😅
Island Niles.
LONG LIVE ISLAND NILES
Cloud Strife lol
"Yaa maannn"
Just watched that episode yesterday
He is correct... the show is still hysterical years later!!!!!Awesome cast and Great writing!
And the chemistry is mind-boggling.
He did such a great job as Niles. A wonderful show.
Such a brilliant show, one of the greatest to be ever aired imho. There will never be a show with such eloquent casting, screen writing and acting!
Look for 'Yes Minister' and 'Yes Prime Minister', an old British series. I think you'll find it to your taste.
kawasakininja13 I'm watching an episode of Frasier right now.it's my all time favourite sitcom.the writing is superb and I especially love the character of Frasier..so pretentious and over sensitive...the only negative for me was the introduction of Daphne's family. being English, I've had more than enough of awful English sitcoms so they kinda spoiled it for me.
Yeah, the English family were too hammy and ridiculous to be funny. They always spoiled the episode when they turned up.
Niles was my favourite part of Frasier, tho I loved em all.
I had a weakness for Martin, his dad.the character was so down to earth and easily relatable.his sense of humour and sarcasm was right up my street 👍👍👌
Fraiser is one of my all time favorite shows and David Hyde Pryce is amazing!!!!
It always amazes me how great of an actor he is , yet not recognized as nearly as he deserves
Now here's a show to render hommage to. Fantastic writing, great cast. DHP and KG are just the best. Cheers!!
Here's to KG, DHP, JL, JM, and PG.
(Kelsey Grammer, David Hyde Pierce, Jane Leeves, John Mahoney and Peri Gilpin)
Hah... 'Cheers'...
Channel 4 in the UK run EPs every single morning!! Sheer heaven. Fave TV show of all time!

Love all the team

Just love David Hyde Pierce
DHP is the Man! I say, he should be cast in everything, lol. I have never seen a performance of his, that I
was not really impressed with.
Really must see him on stage sometime...one of my favorite actors ever. Great turn as John Dean in "Nixon"...
i love both Frasier and Seinfeld.
BartJ583 you can’t like two shows? I love both shows as well. I like the simpsons and king of the hill too. Is that ok with you?
Fuck yeah best sitcoms ever
I never really took the time to watch Seinfeld. What was it about ?
@@joshua9073 nothing.
@@danbennett9328 That's exactly why I never watched it ;-)
0:50 I have seen every episode at least 5 times (Netflix binge watcher here) .... I will never get tired of Frasier. Ever.
Wow. It's been 27 years now...and it's still my favorite show. I wish they had done a Niles and Daphne spin off. 27 years ago...we couldn't watch it on a flat screen HD 4k tv.
2021 and I'm still laughing hysterically at Frasier. The show wouldn't have been the same if any of the cast was different.
April 2020 and I am still laughing. Still the best show, in my humble opinion. "Frasier" is truly timeless and wonderful!
"Cheers" got a Full HD release, I do hope that "Frasier" will get the same treatment, it certainly deserves it.
It's 2018, and I still have a great time watching the Frasier show.
My friend turned me on to Frasier back in...'95 or '96 and I'm still watching it and still laughing.
DHP is a superlative actor. He is prima inter pares.
David for me here in Belfast ni you were the reason I watched i loved you all.i watch the reruns every day here ❤
Frasier is such a great show they put it on Hulu I’m so happy 🥰🥰🥰
I just rewatched all eleven seasons on USA Netflix. 264 episodes altogether, it was quite a big commitment, but worth it, because it was still as cool and lovable as it was when it first came out when I was in my teens! Was a superbly nostalgic blast!

Have you watched Greys Anatomy ?
Thank you David

I would dearly love to see an interview with some of the writers. They must have been brilliant!
The phones were tiny on frasier! They are the size of shoe boxes now!
mike mcgonigle they were probably on about Marty’s giant phone
I don't care how old it is, Frasier remains one of my all time favorite shows.
He looks like a college professor here.
awesome actor.
I always wished they'd bring it back, maybe in some different way, if it was possible to still have the great writing.

i still watch reruns of this show and no matter how many times i may have seen it they never fail to make me laugh
2018 and im watching it on nextflix non stop so funny, great comedy !!!!!
I chose to buy the seasons of Frasier on Apple TV since Netflix dropped it. But even better now its on Peacock which is only $5 per month !
Frasier is one of the all time best comedy tv shows.
One of the very best sitcoms of all time
I just binged watched all the episodes on Cheers and now I shall start watching all the Frasier episodes too. I must also try and watch the Wings series too.
Watching FRASIER, up here in ALASKA
i always love the frasier. niles and daphne are my favorite couple on tv. please bring frasier back on tv as a reunion.
Frasier is by far one of my fave sitcoms ever 🤗
Without a doubt one of the greatest sitcoms ever made.
He would have been a perfect cast as Sheldon Cooper's father on Big Bang Theory. They talk similar and have similar features.
cheers and frasier are a must on every tv collection
love this guy tons of respect
island niles!
Wow…2 of my favorite actors
Niles was one of the truly great comic characters
I love Fraser! Niles is the best part! I’m glad to see him doing well. Thanks!
there's no need to get snippy ;)
Niles is one of my favorite sitcom characters. He's awesome lol
Crazy this was 8 years ago! Almost 30!
Island Niles never left us.
I miss it. I had to buy to DVD'S of it. Just to watch it, cz it's Great
I just binged watched Frasier... AGAIN!
I hope David gets his own sitcom soon
David was the star. I'll never forget that phrase "how quickly a whiff becomes a stench!"
What a gorgeous man.
Lots of men say that...
Really??? double standards for men...............
Sigourney is saying here, how she misses this little creature following her around - is she talking about the facehugger? :D
You. I like you.
She means Zuul.
2024 still watching the reruns🎉
Genius.
Like Friends, Frasier and the other truly great shows always give rightful credit to the writing.
thanks Katie x
I watch the series a lot , just love the wonderful wit of the show, he and Kelsie Grammer were such a perfect foil each other!
I know this is primarily about DHP, but I just love that acidic green colour on Sigourny Weaver.
frasier holds up so well
Great actor
I miss Frasier so SO much. Just re-watched the entire series after not having seen it since it aired, and I swear it was the best comedy on TV. I'm having withdrawal symptoms now. Why don't they bring it back?! X-files did! (wishful thinking).
Fraiser is my go to show on Netflix when I got way too many options and don’t know what to pick 😁😁
Please!!! Upload more parts with Sigourney!!!
Rewatching now on Netflix, and the only aspect that doesn't really hold up is Frasier's dislike of Eddie. I don't think that would fly on a TV show today.
Oh I think it would fly just fine. He doesn’t hurt the dog obviously he just complains. If you have watched all the episodes there are many where he pets Eddie or shared food like popcorn or ice cream or prosciutto with him. There has to be conflict in these shows to provide comedy
Will watch fraiser now.
Oh god it's so cute to see that Sigourney Weaver is obviously a huge fan of Frasier!
S-Tier show from the golden age of sitcoms (1990s).
I can see it in his eyes he's sick of talking about this show
Niles is and has always been my favourite character he reminds me of Elijah Mikaelson
FRASIER : THE VERY BEST TV SERIES ❤️💙💜💚💛🧡
Niles was a beneficiary of the Cheers spin-off because of Frasier playing that role on Cheers and the resemblance. The fact they made Niles more uptight and snobbish than Frasier allowed the Frasier character to develop so easily from Cheers to Frasier and the two shows remain clearly distinct from each other except for the Frasier character and the odd appearances from Cheers characters. I think they did a good job not putting Lilith on the show as a regular as much as I loved all her appearances on Cheers and Frasier, but would have liked to have seen her on more than 12 Frasier episodes. If Frasier was stuck in a Seattle version of Cheers the show wouldn't have worked and that's where the dynamic of Niles worked perfectly for Frasier to become just like him. I point to the fact Frasier's was always the uptight and snobby one on Cheers, but just adapted to make friends.
Niles you must be on the new show.
Wait this was 8 years ago 😱
Niles Crane had the most funniest lines of that series.
