Was lucky enough to come across one recently brand new and sealed for a decent price. It was one ive been after since i started collecting 1/6 and it hasn't disappointed. For a 15 year old figure its a phenomenal piece. An absolute grail for me, and im extremely proud to finally own it. Fantastic review mate, you really do this piece the justice it deserves. Keep up the amazing work.
I feel like the newer HT predators have better body proportions but the older ones have superior articulation. Loving the dynamic poses! Would be interested to get your thoughts on the original figures vs the re-releases
Hi just bought this chap and think I'm doing something wrong can't get his bio helmet to grip with friction there is a little black plastic piece inside it should it be removed when placing on didn't want to force it incase I break it .....
Can i ask a question about the helmet. Sorry if i missed it but whats the best way to get it on? Not sure if im being overly cautios, is it just a case of pushing it on to the face minus the mouth bits? Thanks in advance

Great pick Dean. I never could decide whether I should get this Predator or the Classic Predator from Predators years ago, so I ended up with no Predator. The Classic has the perfect biomask, best headsculpt, and perfect proportions, but this one has everything else. I prefer the design of the suit and all the little details & trophies on this one, and sadly you can't mix the two from what I got because the proportions are different (except maybe put the trophies on the Classic Predator). The suit is just better. This one also has the best base out of the two, and arguably the best base from any Hot Toys figure, shame they almost never add this kind of bonus now. Not with as much things going on anyway. I understand why you got this one back. It's incredible that they nailed it so well back in 2009, and very sad they don't remake it. A comparison with the other Predators you got would be appreciated, keep up the great work.

Toi qui apprécie beaucoup cette marque, j’avoue avoir été séduit aussi et j’ai craqué récemment pour le Classic Predator.. Malheureusement je n’ai pas eu de chance car figure toi que sur ce modèle, la lanière en similicuir qui attache l’armure au niveau du torse se casse très facilement.. Pour ma part j’ai commandé le mien à Hong Kong sur Ebay (état neuf) et je l’ai reçu comme ça. Parfait en tous points mais la lanière cassée 😞 J’ai essayé de vivre avec mais ça se voyait vraiment de trop et j’ai été obligé de la revendre.. Par la suite j’ai vu ce Predator Hot Toys de 87 et la le dilemme se pose.. J’aimerais en reprendre un des deux mais je ne sais pas lequel choisir 😓 Comme tu dis le Classic est supérieur au niveau des proportions et aussi le travail de peinture qui est vachement sympa ! Textures plus brillantes, articulations moins visibles, corps plus massif etc.. Mais celui de 87 a beaucoup d’arguments à défendre aussi je trouve.. A première vue il peut sembler moins beau que le Classic.. Mais j’aime surtout le fait que ce soit l’original et qu’il appartienne au film de 87.. (le meilleur) J’aime aussi le trophée de crâne rouge, la base imitation jungle est top aussi !! Les dreadlocks plus courtes (comme dans le premier film) le laser du casque qui est nettement plus précis que celui du Classic !! Le petit collier d’os autour de son cou plus celui qu’il porte en bandoulière.. Et surtout le fameux medikit caché dans son armure dorsale en dessous du canon blaster 👌 Bref les deux se défendent et je comprend que tu as toujours eu du mal à les départager car je suis dans le même cas que toi 🤷 Lequel choisirais tu a ma place ? I feel like the original Hot Toys Jungle Hunter Predator had some charm going on, especially the packaging and the small accessories such as the medic kit from its backpack are quite stellar touches. But ofc, looking back at this to its movie counterpart is quite off the charts. Anywhere from the body size/thickness, bio mask shape size and proportion (not to mention the wrong shape for the LED laser), oversized shoulder cannon, jawless skull trophy to the paint application and mandible proportions and shape do scream for a better body mold and head shape.
This was my first Hot Toys figure I purchased. It was back in 2010. First time I opened it, it blew my mind. And it still does. As you mention, the trick on this figure is about the pose. A good pose makes it look so natural and amazing. Even with the later Predator releases having better body proportions, there is something in the original Jungle Hunter that's unbeatable. Just a few customizations does magic on it. Great video!

This is easily the best Hot Toys Predator 1/6th scale figure in my opinion. Everything about it is exceptional. The sculpt, paint application and details are all solid. It looks as if he was taken straight from the Predator movie. The mods that you made to it, despite being subtle, ended making a pretty good difference and they took the figure to another level. Otherwise, thanks as always Dean for another great video. I really appreciate the hard work. Keep it up!
Hey Dean, have you ever thought about switching out the HT classic head sculpt to this Original body? I havent seen anything on youtube about it ... btw just ordered one of the original predators for my collection.
Man I wish Hot Toys would make Predator, Alien, Terminator, Robocop etc again. I just got into the game of collecting Hot Toys about a year and a half ago so long after these guys have been out so I have missed out. I swear Hot Toys should be called Hot Marvel/Star Wars because that's all I see them releasing. I want me a Predator! lol sorry for the rant just had to get it off my chest. Great Review !
Love a Predator.. Every collector should have at least one in their collection! Ive always wanted an Elder, either edition but if I had a choice it would be the first edition. I've personally got the Celtic edition! An absolute beast of a figure. To be honest I don't mind the size, it's more intimidating and the accessories he comes with...well there's a lot!! As you say the Jungle Hunter still competes with the best of them 👍😉😎🤘
The dredds are my biggest issue with this big boy, and the body.. otherwise it looks great.. not the most accurate JH.. shame HT probaly wont do this guy again.

I got this figure for 80 dollars and needs a little work but overall still in good condition.
