IDC what anyone says, TR: Anniversary is not only one of the best remakes of all time, but one of the most underrated and greatest games ever made. A fast 3d platforming game with some of the best puzzles gaming has to offer. The St. Francis' Folly level is an elaborate masterpiece of game design.
I love these collections. They are great use of the Blu-ray disc space, but more importantly, they are all together, not scattered everywhere. In this case, it's nice to see a newer collection of TR games bundled together. They had the first 6 released in a bundle too for the PC I believe, but I just couldn't tolerate the tank controls on those ones. It just wasn't neccessary. Yet, I still wanna play them because...I bought them but just need the right mood to get into them.
I hate Anniversary. I finished the original TR1 (and TR2), back in the day, but Anniversary stopped me cold...at the f--king T-Rex! Because I could _never_ get the adrenaline-move thing to trigger at the right time (outside of the fight with the bear where it's introduced). I still do speed runs through Legend. Loved Underworld' stages and actions, but not so thrilled with some of the plot elements. Too death-tastic.
Pedro Granja I played all the previous games (from the original TR on up, on the original consoles) just fine, I could play this game just fine if I could get the timing down on that stupid attack and get past it. It's just too finicky. Let's hope you can do half as well when *you* turn 40. Yeah, I could cheat and d/l a save with that fight won, but I have too much integrity for that.
Does the trilogy contain trophies for each individual game (3x the trophies for 1!?) or is the trilogy itself counted as one game? Hell, dies the thing even have trophy support?
@ElricSowrd optical cable as in for a sound system? i just use the standard composite cable that came with my ps2 and a hdmi cable for my ps3. both connected to my hdtv. i don't really see any problems with using a ps2 on a hdtv.
Sorry for the dumb question. I bought this and started playing legend and couldent figure out if it was ps2 or current gen release. The graphics looked old but the lighting effects looked current gen.
Does anyone know if the Tomb Raider legend in the collection is the same legend from the early PS3 days? I'd like to know if they actually optimized it this time around or if it's the same graphically inferior buggy mess like before.
It's amazing that as soon as people see a game starring Lara Croft, they automatically comment on her looks! I must be one of the few people who actually came here to learn about the rest of the game collection.
I couldn't take it serious the first time he said "Laura",I mean her name has been called throughout the entire series and some people still call her "Laura "......
You review 7 to 10 games a week, or even more. How do you have enough time to play through games!? No More Heroes 1 and 2 took me 1 week to finish each (and a lot other games usually takes a week for me). But I go to work, I can only play after I arrive home...
@BRS2070, yeah. Originaly, her name was supposed to be Laura Cruise, but Core Design had to change the name, cuz americans can't say Laura. It sounds like Loura. They've changed it to Lara, but the Cruise didn't work, so they've also changed the surname for Croft. And that's when it finally worked out.
Hmmm, that's a good point. I would research it, but I take your word for it. But I still believe that both pronounciations are correct. It's just a culture and accent difference, but they're both correct. Just like how "leh-ver" and "leever" are both correct. Just a difference in culture.
Anniversary, Legends and then Underworld if you want the games in chronological order. Legends, Anniversary and then Underworld if you want to play by release date.
@JCRocky5 yeah i thought so too but the first game on pc psx and Saturn has 1st 2nd and 3rd place on game rankings tomb raider 2 is 4th ^_~ guess you can't beat the original .. it did have the best music
@goodflo911 The classics games ae much better, than the newer ones and were the roots in the series. The graphics are really old, but looks awesome on PC (TR 1 and 2 with 1600x1200p!!!)
I remember getting Tomb Raider The Last Revelation and spending hours and hours being frustrated with it. I had to set up music while I played since the game had next to nothing of a soundtrack, but that how it was back then. Angel of Darkness was a bit annoying, but felt like I was making progress at times. I loved the way she mentions that she "leveled up" her strength by saying "My -insert body part or dirty word- feels stronger now!" I need to go catch up with the rest of the series.
my only gripe with this collection - well 2 - are: 1) uneven sound levels - cutscene audio would be louder than in-game audio, like when you're running around shooting free (the other way around sometimes even) - most evident in Legend. 2) Not keeping the original PS2 graphics. Legend went with the next-gen style when she looked much hotter on the PS2 DESIGN wise, not graphical. that and other things in the background. Anniversary graphics lost a lot of shadow, making it look cel-shaded @ times
I read: Tomb Raider Trilogy for the PS3 and I was like, HOLY SHIT THEY' VE MADE A FUCKIN REMAKE OF THE FIRST 3 ORIGINAL TOMB RAIDERS, but then I saw which were and was like, oh ok... I FUKIN LOVE the first three original tomb raider games!
Just picked up this trilogy collection a couple days ago, LOVE IT!
Is IT playable with Dualshock 4?
Does ps3 _Underworld_ come with the DLC story modes? I can't find anything that says it does.
This is still my favorite Tomb Raider disc ever made.
"DON'T GET A SPLINTER, IT HURTS!!" I loved that line haha
DAT ASSS!!!! on underworld

This trilogy is awesome! Anniversary is the best out of the 3. Haveee fuuunn!
I hate Anniversary. I finished the original TR1 (and TR2), back in the day, but Anniversary stopped me cold...at the f--king T-Rex! Toby Cameron LOL when I played anniversary the t rex got stuck between some trees or something, so all I had to do was spam the trigger.
Toby Cameron so, you hae Anniversary...because you dont know how to play it?!? Thats pathetic dont you think?! Lol
Batman of the Apocalypse LOL I hope you appreciate what a lucky SOB you are :)
Does the trilogy contain trophies for each individual game (3x the trophies for 1!?) or is the trilogy itself counted as one game?
Hell, dies the thing even have trophy support?
@ElricSowrd your tv doesn't support multiple inputs for your game systems : / ?
@ElricSowrd optical cable as in for a sound system? i just use the standard composite cable that came with my ps2 and a hdmi cable for my ps3. both connected to my hdtv. i don't really see any problems with using a ps2 on a hdtv.
I never got to play Legend. Is that one any good?
What should i get? Uncharted 1 and 2 Or Tomb raider trilogy?
Sorry for the dumb question. I bought this and started playing legend and couldent figure out if it was ps2 or current gen release. The graphics looked old but the lighting effects looked current gen.
The original TR 1, 2 & 3 will always be THE trilogy in my opinion. Sure the graphics are better in the later games, but I still like the classics.
What's the best of the three?
How long are the games? 20-30 hours or so?
I can think of two things for which they didn't use Angelina Jolie's mold, to design the original character.
Tomb Raider Legend was the best out of all the games. They should remake that game with the newer graphics and it would top all games out there!
Doubt you'll read this or care, but just expressing my extreme gratitude for your work, good sir.
I don't get it, Is there any point of including underworld with the trilogy because its already on ps3?
Is this game nice? Cause im thinking of getting it...
I love your comentary man. Keep it up!
Does anyone know if the Tomb Raider legend in the collection is the same legend from the early PS3 days? I'd like to know if they actually optimized it this time around or if it's the same graphically inferior buggy mess like before.
Thanks man. I might pick this up for legend and anniversary alone
I bought this & GOW collection.
My dumb mates buys planet51, aliens vs monsters & cloudy meats ball etc etc
Whats the better bunch???
@Sheepy007 What do you mean with include? 360 =Ps3
mark reviewed a tomb raider game! best day ever for me :D
I think that Mark has one of the most lovely voice in the world and if not RUclips.
Mark, did you where stuck at that big hall with many gods?
Is this going to be released on 360, Trilogy????
Tomb Raider Anniversary and Legen are must play games i think.
wasnt legend and anniversary supposed to be HD anyway? seeing as how they came out on ps3 and xbox 360.....
1:39 Mark, something tells me the collection is what's huge.
Hej mark. Do you already know that you can now play PS1 and PS2 originals on ANY PS3?! I am so happy since i found that out :D :D :D
What does any of this have to do with Osama not being alive any more?
do you know if there is a tomb raider angel of darkness for ps3
It's amazing that as soon as people see a game starring Lara Croft, they automatically comment on her looks! I must be one of the few people who actually came here to learn about the rest of the game collection.
I couldn't take it serious the first time he said "Laura",I mean her name has been called throughout the entire series and some people still call her "Laura "......
It's alternative pronunciation. Don't be petty.
Love this game, got it and playing it now.
@Jai Witting There is a point, because it has something with the story from Legend and Anniversary :)
what is the point in being first if the vid is only 240p for the first mins?
ahhh seeing Lara in swim wear climbing up and sliding down that pole looked so wrong yet so right
All great games. I forgot how much I enjoyed playing through them ♥
is there a vectrex version ?
Good to see tomb raider getting the trilogy treatment.
Why did they incude the ps2 versions of Legend and Anniversary instead the 360 versions? I'll never understand this
I just got this game & played a bit of legend very good so far
Very nice review ^^. Played them all :P
@RankAndFileGuy The name of Lara Croft in the beginning it was "Laura Cruz"
Hey Mark, since you're reviewing some Tomb Raider games, why not review the Uncharted series?
Damnit Mark, since you mentioned it I looked up the 2000 review of Perfect Dark, you're lucky I don't own a time machine! ;s
You review 7 to 10 games a week, or even more. How do you have enough time to play through games!? No More Heroes 1 and 2 took me 1 week to finish each (and a lot other games usually takes a week for me). But I go to work, I can only play after I arrive home...

@rustypeanuts The shape Is called a tetrahedron.
Triangles are 2D.
(sorry couldn't help it)
I love Tomb Raider and would get this. However I already own all three of these games on Xbox 360.
@attffgg i can understand where your coming from, uncharted does own tomb raider.but at the same time theirs still fun to be had with the series.
tombraider 1 was actually my first ps1 game I bought
@MultiBr3tt No but certain parts of the story in Anniversary are tied up in Underworld.
They should release collections of games people liked.
First meaningful comment!
Hmmm, that's a good point.
I would research it, but I take your word for it.
But I still believe that both pronounciations are correct.
It's just a culture and accent difference, but they're both correct.
Just like how "leh-ver" and "leever" are both correct.
Just a difference in culture.
I heard that graphically Tomb Raider Trilogy on PS3 is better than the original games(Xbox 360, PS3).
Is that true?
@RankAndFileGuy You're right, but some still say "Laura". No big deal, only dorks like us catch that kind of stuff.
There's something about jumping from high places in this game that makes it hilarious
what is this rated
Anniversary, Legends and then Underworld
if you want the games in chronological order.
Legends, Anniversary and then Underworld if you want to play by release date.
awesome review. =D
how about loading times?
Great review buddy :)
@lantz8660 Did you read the description or actually watch the review before asking that?
Also she's voiced by Keeley Hawes which is awsome.
still no TRU dlc for the ps3 unlike on the 360?
3 enormous games.
And two other things that are also enormous, in all 3 games.
You obviously haven't watch the Irate Gamer reviews.
The intro and his voice of IC are great.
@Sheepy007 Because it was made on the 360. Why market the game on a ps console that is 360? Then they would rather make a 360 exclusive for the games
It's not that Im just wondering if they re mastered it
@JCRocky5 yeah i thought so too but the first game on pc psx and Saturn has 1st 2nd and 3rd place on game rankings tomb raider 2 is 4th ^_~ guess you can't beat the original .. it did have the best music
Don´t get a splitter! It hurts! Found that kinda cute of you to say :D
You don't know you haven't seen Master Chief in a bathing suit xD
Underworld was great to play through. why isn't this dowloadable on xbox360?
Has mark reviewed uncharted 1&2
great collection! =)
Did you play Uncharted?...you should play Uncharted...cause it's awesome...play it...
cant wait for the next tomb raider
you wont be disappointed owning this
Great Series
I cant wait for the new game coming out :D
@goodflo911 The classics games ae much better, than the newer ones and were the roots in the series. The graphics are really old, but looks awesome on PC (TR 1 and 2 with 1600x1200p!!!)
way cool viedo i played all tomb raiders and i all finished them
Played underworld enen I was young, but never finished it. So I may buy the triology of Tomb Raider
when playing underworld i became extremely attracted to Lara..damn she's easily the best looking video-game character
is this game like uncharted?
No. Uncharted is like this games. Basically.
good to know
joel baker ofc take note that uncharted are a lot newer games and add a lot to the genre
true thanks for the info
No. More plat forming , puzzling , combat is different ( unless your playing the reboot) and the control is waaaaay better (imo)
Tomb raider 2 was the best :D
Are you talking about the first Uncharted?
Then I agree.
@redhothellers You mean Uncharted is like Tomb raider. Uncharted got heavily inspired by Tomb Raider ;D
@Terryracoon I wouldn't say its sexy but its still cool because it gives the impression that he is constantly being sarcastic.
I remember getting Tomb Raider The Last Revelation and spending hours and hours being frustrated with it. this needs an xbox release yes i know they are already on it but id like a nice boxset too
my only gripe with this collection - well 2 - are:

Oh how very mature and tolerant of you.
I really wanted this for 360
