As a content creator before you use any method you need to ask yourself is that what you want to be known for, can you keep going with that and are you building a solid community that will stay with you in the long run. The problem with trending topic is if it’s not what you want to do or really knowledgeable in how to do it you are building something empty. It won’t last IMO but for a select few it will work and they are okay with it.
What’s more ridiculous is that they making money off of our creativity but getting a bigger cut from our creativity. So it makes since to ride the wave to bring money into your household. I’ve watched other RUclipsrs copy each other challenges, pranks and so on., so what’s the difference between what he’s doing and what others are doing. My channel stayed at 130 for years and since I started doing some of his methods has grown to 170 subscribers. But I respect everyone’s opinion. And wish everyone well on their journey!!!!

I started following Dontay during the pandemic, I was researching a job I wanted to apply to and he worked for the company at the time. I hadn’t seen his videos for about a year. He popped up again a couple days ago and then now I see your video about him. I’m shocked by how much he has grown. I think his growth is inspiring regardless of how he’s doing it because I really want to get my channel going but not sure what direction I want to take. I know there’s an algorithm that needs to be followed once you start.
Problem is he doesn’t know how it work. Really it’s about what he put in before he caught the wave. I’m not really sure he is truly knows the backlash he is doing to others that are watching. They will not get the same results, because he caught a wave. That wave is dying out. He came out and said he was only saying RUclips was easy because it was bringing him views, subscribers, and money. He wanted to be honest to others RUclips is not easy. Only said it because he was getting money by saying it. For that I appreciate his honesty. 🤩🤩🤩
You're absolutely correct, that's why I am not too keen on this trend. I'm not saying that there's no truth in it but it's not as simple as that. I feel like if I post those videos, then what? I hate misleading people.

If the trend fits your channel and content, I say try it, but always make sure it works for you. Dontay seems like he is genuinely trying to help others, but everything isn’t gonna work for everybody. RUclips is not easy; I’m learning this every day.
I watched a few of his videos i liked his delivery, and hopefully i can thrive by creating my own channel about being forced to retire at 39 yrs old im going about it in a different way, Im answering questions from a book called "my grandfathers life" and im leaving my answers here on youtube for my grandchildren to see one day. Wish me luck I'll start by sitting on my raft watching the waves go by.

Terrible advise not to monetize your channel from the beginning with affiliate links and your own products & just rely on Google Adsense alone. No six figure earning experienced Creator would advise you to start out working for free & have only one stream of incone
I've watched several of Dontay's "Talk about RUclips" videos & I see that he is very excited & happy & his channel has grown a great deal .. I have followed his advice & did a few of my own "Talk about RUclips" videos, but his method is not working very well for Me, lol..But, I keep pushing forward with my own thing.
He popped up out of the blue, which means he is in the algorithm. I clicked on the video, liked his personality and subscribed. I usually dont do that, i may watch but never subscribe. RUclips is pushing him and his content/personality will make them wanna stay n see more,like i did

Good video. I’ve never watched his videos, but they are always on my feeds. As a creator, I tend to ride that wave myself as I mentioned in many of my videos. Myself I always try to add extra value if I can.

Agreed great video and his heart is in the right place and we already see another content creator whose videos have dropped dramatically because of the same content which by the way if not correctly done will start to feel redundant to some. Nothing wrong with riding the waves but at some point you have to get back on dry land and have a plan moving forward. I like his videos and his authenticity.

The young man’s video popped into my algorithm the other day. I watched it and congratulated him on his success. In my comment, I advised that he invest some of that “easy money”. Who knows if he even sees the comments. Today a new one popped up…he’s at the car dealership. I’m probably not watching another one. Young crowd, I’m past that stage.

I think Dontay could easily be a “think media” or his own version of a RUclips guru/vlogger. Hes got a path in all of this. I just want people to find theres.
Dontay is very personable, handsome, and authentic. I joined his channel over a year ago when he had about 2K subscribers. But, I unsubscribed when he started "bad mouthing" his subscribers, shutting down post, blasting people in his rants, and shutting off comments. As he has grown, he's matured, met a wonderful lady, and seems much happier. He's tapped into how to grow. But, in doing so and I shared this early on with him and he blasted me as a hater. He shares way too many details about the money he makes. Especially when he's in public housing and receives government assistance. He is still doing the same thing. Also, he tends to recycle the same content over and over. It was don't work for others. Then, can't keep a job. Then, he doesn't know why anyone pays market rate rent, etc. Sure, these topics catches people eyes and cause them to subscribe. But, he could do much better if he adds other content, like "getting my credit report", working on my credit,; savings, now that he is making money, relationship content since he has a new lady, going back to school, etc. Instead, he is just overdoing one approach. But, I do wish him well. He's talented and could grow even faster if he would consider advice. Instead, to him, advice is hating. So, he rarely takes it, as intended, to benefit him.

You tube is definitely not easy I’ve been on here for 6 years and just hit 900 subs two days ago but I’ve been watching DONTAY London for a while and I was so sad how people used to talk bad about him but I’m so proud of him now❤
He can talk! Flow off the top of the dome takes talent. And he not new, he's done this before and probably can do it again. When you can get 100s of people to recreate your videos thats power and pushes you up by being one of the originators. Similar to front running a stock bull run. Great video! Dontay has the ability to pivot effortlessly. Not everyone can do that. One video currently has 481,000 views. His new trend is about living in the projects. He's received 45,000 views in a day. He's very transparent about multiple aspects of his life, and it's working for him. He's not just making noise, he's showing receipts.

I just started making videos for a month now and i havent really gained a following which is alright with me . I was a small rapper back in the day and i gotten better over time, bought new equipment, new software and i noticed the difference. Imma do the same with this, i also may start a new channel doing movie reviews ! But imma rock this one out until i get what i need and learn the things i need too.
It’s funny because Nick Nimmin, RUclips expert has addressed this “ RUclips is on easy mode “ trend and said RUclips IS NOT on easy mode. You can only say and make the same video so many times before your audience wants something of more value. I don’t see the copying of someone else’s titles, thumbnails and video concepts as them being authentic. It’s a gimmick, a hustle for some quick cash. No long term value for me.

I mean this is proof. I found this vid cause I was watching his vid. I think whats great is that he is making the same vid but he’s also showing parts of himself which I’m liking his personality. So on the surface it looks like the same vid but he’s also building a loyal following that will hear him out for other vids
Thing is Dontay is not really teaching and he just said in his last two videos that he doesn't want to teach. So those that don't want to talk about this stuff isn't learning how to do RUclips, they are just copying him without knowing what his detailed strategy is, he just want everyone to follow. So if you want to talk about other trends or find what you like, he cannot help you on what method he used, what tools he used or how he searches RUclips, keywords, thumbnails, descriptions and setting up the back end of RUclips which is trending right now. DINTAY said in his video again today he is only about the money, he has no passion at all, he said he just wants the money. So yes, his method will work to some extent for the short term success, but not long term because if you don't copy his titles and talk about what he does, people are lost. But he has admitted this on camera that his way is the fast way and you will have to jump around topic to topic and like he just said do what's trending and not what you want to do. So for those that want this as a career and want long term success his method is short lived. Dontay will be short term because his audience will see he only does it for money, where is the authentic self and what he loves besides money. So it will be interesting to see how long he can go before even viewers turn on him because they want to know him because he believes no one cares. He was supposed to buy a car outright and boasted about it and then we see a video of him the other day test driving and no car, not even a cheaper car and they are staying in the apartment. So is this money real, because I only see one big video with over 400K, and one over 80K, study his channel and views and there's no way he can be making as much as he claims. But all in all his energy is infectious and he has gotten people on their cameras or phones and recording, so he is very inspirational.
U'll ride the wave by being "Relevant,".... Share ur knowledge, the information... Where u super excel is by gaining private customers... There's multiple streams of ways to gain monetary success! 🎉
You're hidden animosity is misplaced. That is not Dontay's artform. This is what RUclips encourages. If You use the dashboard correctly that's what they encourage. Now you may want to believe that things are done organically. But you and hoards of other creators are manufacturing the same product in a different package. The goal is to create a prettier package for the same product. Colgate, Crest, Aim, etc. This is business 101. But I'm sure you're using his name for growth as well.

He has chosen to do something what most creators don't do, Share the opportunity to get views which a lot of creators have done, and a lot of creators have been able to monetize based on what he shared. My page went from 5 subscribers 152 subscribers in less than 30 days with 30,000 views. In a page that was created less than 60 days

@dvrryl2times well if you had really watched or listening to Donte's presentation he has never told anyone to do this consistently. He told them that he doesn't even do this. His thing was vlogging. Vlogging is not working for him right now, He instructed people just to start with something that does work so that you can get a viewing, while helping new creators as well, so that you can present what you do or what you want your niche to be. He never told them not to do their niche He told them to use this as a way to increase your viewing. And again for anybody on here to think that what they're doing is completely original you are fooling yourself. There is not one person doing something on here that other people aren't doing. What I've known is you have these fake creators or those creators who think they are on a hierarchy above others trying to look down. Those creators need to be aware that you really aren't cut like that because if you were, You will be making too much money to be worried about what somebody else is doing or not doing.

Good video. I’ve never watched his videos, but they are always on my feeds. As a creator, I tend to ride that wave myself as I mentioned in many of my videos. Myself I always try to add extra value if I can.

I like his personality, but I just dont see You Tube as being easy. I am extrememely happy about his success. Like Dough Dash he seems to be a motivator and an inspiration.
Except Dough dash is grifter who owes people money from 2019. She likes getting people to donate money to her causes through emotional pleas and motivational speeches like a prosperity preacher.

Agreed great video and his heart is in the right place and we already see another content creator whose videos have dropped dramatically because of the same content which by the way if not correctly done will start to feel redundant to some. Nothing wrong with riding the waves but at some point you have to get back on dry land and have a plan moving forward. I like his videos and his authenticity.

The young man’s video popped into my algorithm the other day. I watched it and congratulated him on his success. In my comment, I advised that he invest some of that “easy money”. Who knows if he even sees the comments.
Today a new one popped up…he’s at the car dealership. I’m probably not watching another one. Young crowd, I’m past that stage.

I think Dontay could easily be a “think media” or his own version of a RUclips guru/vlogger. Hes got a path in all of this. I just want people to find theres.

Dontay is very personable, handsome, and authentic. I joined his channel over a year ago when he had about 2K subscribers. But, I unsubscribed when he started "bad mouthing" his subscribers, shutting down post, blasting people in his rants, and shutting off comments. As he has grown, he's matured, met a wonderful lady, and seems much happier. He's tapped into how to grow. But, in doing so and I shared this early on with him and he blasted me as a hater. He shares way too many details about the money he makes. Especially when he's in public housing and receives government assistance. He is still doing the same thing. Also, he tends to recycle the same content over and over. It was don't work for others. Then, can't keep a job. Then, he doesn't know why anyone pays market rate rent, etc. Sure, these topics catches people eyes and cause them to subscribe. But, he could do much better if he adds other content, like "getting my credit report", working on my credit,; savings, now that he is making money, relationship content since he has a new lady, going back to school, etc. Instead, he is just overdoing one approach. But, I do wish him well. He's talented and could grow even faster if he would consider advice. Instead, to him, advice is hating. So, he rarely takes it, as intended, to benefit him.
😉 P.S. ~ I think with the addition of his fiancée, Hannah - there's a new dimension & a deeper resonance with his content ...

Like you, I think Dontay is genuine in his approach in wanting to help small you tubers. I just started my page this week, and I could see his formula is working when I check my analytics. Great video! Dontay has the ability to pivot effortlessly. Not everyone can do that. One video currently has 481,000 views. His new trend is about living in the projects. He's received 45,000 views in a day. He's very transparent about multiple aspects of his life, and it's working for him. He's not just making noise, he's showing receipts.
Yeah after a while it gets stale…we saw the rise and fall of dough dash doing some of the same stuff
i tried the youtube themed videos and i don’t get traction, but when i talk about past work experiences i tend to get more push from youtube!
Donnte said it himself, that his is making videos that will make money and not videos that he is into or passionate about, so that is short term and not long term

I just started making videos for a month now and i havent really gained a following which is alright with me . I was a small rapper back in the day and i gotten better over time, bought new equipment, new software and i noticed the difference. Imma do the same with this, i also may start a new channel doing movie reviews ! But imma rock this one out until i get what i need and learn the things i need too.
It’s funny because Nick Nimmin, RUclips expert has addressed this “ RUclips is on easy mode “ trend and said RUclips IS NOT on easy mode. You can only say and make the same video so many times before your audience wants something of more value. I don’t see the copying of someone else’s titles, thumbnails and video concepts as them being authentic. It’s a gimmick, a hustle for some quick cash. No long term value for me.

Thing is Dontay is not really teaching and he just said in his last two videos that he doesn't want to teach. So those that don't want to talk about this stuff isn't learning how to do RUclips, they are just copying him without knowing what his detailed strategy is, he just want everyone to follow. So if you want to talk about other trends or find what you like, he cannot help you on what method he used, what tools he used or how he searches RUclips, keywords, thumbnails, descriptions and setting up the back end of RUclips which is trending right now. DINTAY said in his video again today he is only about the money, he has no passion at all, he said he just wants the money. So yes, his method will work to some extent for the short term success, but not long term because if you don't copy his titles and talk about what he does, people are lost. But he has admitted this on camera that his way is the fast way and you will have to jump around topic to topic and like he just said do what's trending and not what you want to do. So for those that want this as a career and want long term success his method is short lived. Dontay will be short term because his audience will see he only does it for money, where is the authentic self and what he loves besides money. So it will be interesting to see how long he can go before even viewers turn on him because they want to know him because he believes no one cares. He was supposed to buy a car outright and boasted about it and then we see a video of him the other day test driving and no car, not even a cheaper car and they are staying in the apartment. So is this money real, because I only see one big video with over 400K, and one over 80K, study his channel and views and there's no way he can be making as much as he claims. But all in all his energy is infectious and he has gotten people on their cameras or phones and recording, so he is very inspirational.

You're hidden animosity is misplaced. That is not Dontay's artform. This is what RUclips encourages. If You use the dashboard correctly that's what they encourage. Now you may want to believe that things are done organically. But you and hoards of other creators are manufacturing the same product in a different package. The goal is to create a prettier package for the same product. Colgate, Crest, Aim, etc. This is business 101. But I'm sure you're using his name for growth as well.
There is no animosity. This video is covered in compliments. I simply think his way may not work for many.

He has chosen to do something what most creators don't do, Share the opportunity to get views which a lot of creators have done, and a lot of creators have been able to monetize based on what he shared. My page went from 5 subscribers 152 subscribers in less than 30 days with 30,000 views. In a page that was created less than 60 days

Consistency, personality, relatability, and SHARING PIECES OF YOURSELF. That last piece is very important. It’s why people FEEL his words. A catchy title won’t do that. One video won’t do that. We can agree to disagree.

@dvrryl2times well if you had really watched or listening to Donte's presentation he has never told anyone to do this consistently. He told them that he doesn't even do this. His thing was vlogging. Vlogging is not working for him right now, He instructed people just to start with something that does work so that you can get a viewing, while helping new creators as well, so that you can present what you do or what you want your niche to be. He never told them not to do their niche He told them to use this as a way to increase your viewing. And again for anybody on here to think that what they're doing is completely original you are fooling yourself. There is not one person doing something on here that other people aren't doing. What I've known is you have these fake creators or those creators who think they are on a hierarchy above others trying to look down. Those creators need to be aware that you really aren't cut like that because if you were, You will be making too much money to be worried about what somebody else is doing or not doing.

Why does people feel because a person is educating others they are hating or taking from another person. So many content creators that need to hear exactly what he just said. Dontay was an example to them. He gave RUclips from both sides. Trust Dontay is watching videos like this. He may not give recognition but he is watching. Why because he trying to learn why he was successful so he can continue to be. He even said it himself. Just wow
