Exo is one of a kind in kpop industry, they are also so versatile, every comeback have really different concept and song. We never get bored.
EXO have their own style and doesn't go with any Kpop trend. You can't expect EXO songs to sound the same because they are not afraid in exploring different genre and doing experimental music. EXO is highly respected by music experts and music producers for being versatile and all-rounded to be able to pull-off something they think is impossible. Just like most music producers commented: "Expect the unexpected when it comes to EXO" and "it doesn't sound like kpop. It doesn't sound like EXO but you know it's EXO".

My favorite songs from EXO are their heavy R&B songs: What is Love, Thunder, Heart Attack, Playboy, Sweet Lies, Walk on Memories, Cloud 9, Tell Me What is Love (D.O solo), UN Village (Baekhyun solo). Another EXO's songs i like: XOXO, Don't Go, Love Me Right, Tempo, Love Shot, Wait, For Life, Christmas Day, Universe, Sing For You, Black Pearl, Lucky One. Oh God, there are so many, even their songs i didn't like at first listen becoming an earworm after the couple times of listen.
There are two main themes for Exo - First, they are from another planet (EXO Planet) and they each have different powers (see the Mama MV). Second, they are captured by society that doesn't trust them and placed in a maze that they can't ever escape (Overdose MV). In fact, the Lucky Man mv (which was released at the same time as this) shows them after they have been captured.
All EXO's songs are different and unique, they're the kings in any genre. I think it's impossible to choose the only one favorite of them, coz each song is a masterpiece. Thanks for reaction:)
