    I started playing guitar in the early 90's. At that time you could only get knowledge about "how to get that sound" from magazines and hear say. Then you'd buy something similar that the guy whose tone you liked only to be hugely disappointed when you were nowhere near to that tone. Nowadays if you hear some nice tones from some plugin you can actually buy THAT TONE. Its ridiculously awesome!

    I had gotten Bias Amp and Bias FX a while ago and had Guitar Rig previously, and while I have gotten a few okay tones out of them, I found for the most part it just never quite sounded right and it took a lot of effort and frustration to get anything halfway decent. Both programs are quantity over quality imo.
    I really thought I would just have to accept that I would need to save up and get an Axe FX or Kemper in order to enjoy any sort of decent sounds comparable to a real amp.
    I downloaded all of Neurals demos after seeing so many rave reviews. And I have to say, Neural has restored my hope in plugin amp sims.
    It really does sound THAT good. Everyone should try them. Especially this Plini one. It is so versatile, and there is no excessive amounts of clutter and adjustable parameters to over complicate things. Love the work these guys are doing!

    Rewatching to get a little stoke back for this one. I did a shoot out of all the Neural plug-ins during the 2020 Black Friday sale. This one won for my tastes. I added the Tim Henson during the 2021 black friday sale for some more Vox and straight ahead Marshall Tones as well as the acoustic amp. Hoping Neural gives Archetype Plini some love and updates it to more current NDSP spec with oversampling, wider effects array, etc.

    • @AdamTrain
      @AdamTrain 5 лет назад +22

      Nameless is still the king for me for aggressive tones. The high gain stuff in the Archetype is super thick and warm but lacking a lot of aggression in the top end (the treble control seems to boost the mids more than the highs). If you're into cleans and/or mid-gain stuff, Archetype is super exciting. But it's very much a Plini signature plugin -- it really is built for his style of music

  • @SoundFriendly
    @SoundFriendly 5 лет назад +23

    I think Kemper, Fractal Audio, Line 6, Positive Grid and any other old-time tube amp manufacturer may find themselves in a nasty predicament. Tube amp manufacturers have this issue for years but now even new tech companies such as Kemper and Fractal Audio. Soon, you'll have x86 intel/amd systems on a chip into a pedal. Forget about profiling or tone matching. There is a new era lurking around the corner.

    • @fredriksvard2603
      @fredriksvard2603 5 лет назад +9

      SoundFriendly tube amps arent going anywhere, even hobbyists who have plugins and what not use them. What's dying is the consumer market for axefx and company. No surprise that digital is getting more accessible, thats the reason i havent invested in axefx, kemper etc, good as they are.

    "You just need a laptop an a interface to get that" - but how do you listen to your playing on the road? Via Studio Headphones? And how are you hearing your playing in your home studio? Via two Monitors? I am totally new in this field, questions over questions.. :) I would like to play the guitar like I play a normal amp, so I think using monitors would be the best thing?

      You've answered yourself there ;) Nothing will beat real valve/cab combos, but this stuff gets real close especially for low volume recording situations. I can't imagine alot of guitarists will choose to play love over a valve amp (or even a kemper). But this allows for awesome on the move tones for everything from demos to use on proper recordings. Hope this helps dude!

    How is it for CPU load, stability and latency? I love the sound, it's outstanding, but I've had problems with plug ins crashing.
