6:11 the allergy is referring to a rare death animation that I believe is exclusive to the console and DS versions, it only happens when a zombies dies whilst eating a wall-nut / tall-nut
The zombies being allergic to wall nut is actually a thing. In EXTREMELY rare moments, while a zombie munches on a wall nut, there is a chance of it’s face puffing up and leading to his death
Well, I think that is because zombies ate his friends, since a zombie apocalypse is present, or if not, he didn't meet his friends to a very long period of time. And I think that would make him very lonely, and also if you think of it, loneliness has a potential or possibility to cause hallucinations which thus explains why "we", as the player, his imaginary friend. Loneliness, may also cause various different mental disorders, and it would be, I think the reason why Dave is "crazy".
Here’s some lore stuff about the plants from the first game- The Earth produces a “thumping” frequency at which only Sunflowers can hear. It’s the reason why Sunflowers are always seen enthusiastically swaying their heads from side to side, even so in the midst of battle. Cherry Bombs often bicker amongst themselves on whether or not they should either explode simply for the sake of exploding, or if they should preemptively detonate in case of an attack. The Walnut has a near nonexistent nervous system, and so when enduring severe amounts of physical trauma, the feeling has been compared to a sort of tingling sensation. Potato Mines are quite strategic. Chompers are quite agile and possess a strong physicality. Repeaters are incredibly hostile towards both plants and the undead. This hostility apparently stems from a harsh upbringing, which may act as an explanation as to why this particular plant tends to distance itself from others. The Sun-Shroom disdains sunlight. Though what’s interesting is that the Sun-Shroom’s body naturally produces sunlight, and so when the Sun-Shroom undergoes this process, it essentially “forces” the sunlight out from its body. There’s a rehabilitation center for the undead. One of the Grave Busters supposedly attends it to assist. Hypno-Shrooms wish for a compromise between plants and the undead. The Ice-Shrooms suffer from facial nerve paralysis, which is why they’re always seen dawning a stern expression. This stems from an injury that occurred during their development. Lily Pads are quite secretive. A Jalapeño’s goal is to eventually burst into flames. Torchwood’s are highly revered for their truthfulness. Though, funny enough, they’re all illiterate. Tall-Nuts are a variant of the Walnut. Planters are said to consume “darkness” and “expel” light. There are a few theories regarding how exactly this process works, with some stating that it’s derived from a form of sorcery. Starfruits possess a single tooth. Flower Pots are a type of plant…. The Kernel-Pults are the eldest amongst their fellow Pults. Garlics specialize in redirection. Marigolds often contemplate the decision to either produce a silver coin or a gold coin. This decision is based on extensive research and statistics. Gatling Peas are affiliated with the military. The Twin Sunflower came into being as a result of surgically grafting the corpses of two Sunflowers. It was brought to life after enduring an electric shock. The Cattail “barks” like a dog to differentiate itself from its namesake. A war against the undead took place during the late 1970’s. According to an Imitater, there were no Peashooters or Jalapeños during that time. Plants are apparently paid to fight against the undead. Plants appear to be a highly intelligent species, rivaling humans. They attend human schools and occupy human jobs. Though, it appears that when a plant has nowhere else to go, they decide to take part in the fight against the undead.
Fun Fact: in the German Version Chomper almost became a Stuntman in Hollywood but his agent asked for too much money. Chomper himself says that that's just business sometimes 😄
I'm gonna be blunt. While some of these are directly quoting the Almanac, a lot of these read as fanfiction with terrible spelling ("dawning a stern expression"? REALLY? It's "DONNING" you know, like "to don the robes" or smth??) and explicitly not-supported-by-the-game random stuff. Like Twin Sunflower being born from an experiment is obviously canon, but we're never told HOW that experiment was done. Electricity and corpses being involved is pure speculation from the story of Frankenstein and his monster - which Twin Sunflower IS a reference to, but that doesn't mean she's two dead Sunflowers stitched together. There's a certain LEVEL of morbidity PopCap won't cross, and I think using corpses stitched together is well beyond that point. - Chompers are explicitly NOT agile, what are you on about. It's Kinda the Point of Chomp Thing and Hot Rod that they're unique to the species for being so fast, and while that's not until GW1, it's still confirmation, and the concept of chompers being "agile" was never in the first game. - Torchwood is not illiterate as a species. Almanac entries are meant to be about a specific specimen when direct interview style quotes are used (Peashooter in PvZ2 has an almanac entry that's about a single individual. His entry in the first game is addressing an individual who's speaking for the species.) Torchwood's entry in the first game is in the same vein as the ones where "a single member speaks for all of them" but is clearly meant to be about a specific single one. I'm pretty sure PvZ1 almanac entries are meant to be understood like they're clones? And illiteracy wouldn't be cloneable unless you force all clones to not learn to read, which at that point is injustice, not inability. -Not every Ice-shroom has facial paralysis from a childhood injury. Just the one you're given, that the almanac entry is about. Another one of those "is this entry about an individual or the whole species" thing.
I'm pretty sure Dave asks about your brain before the boss fight in Far Future right after Zomboss hypnotized him. Dave then snaps out of it after the boss fight.

You fight Dr. Zomboss with a Gatling Pea in a flower pot plane, and it's basically a rail shooter boss. Dr. Zomboss's attacks consist of giant ice balls that can contain power-ups, floating zombie heads and hats, a huge mouth laser, and an exploding ball of zombie parts
"zombies are allergic to wall nuts" that's true, there's a secret dead animation happened to zombie that eats the wallnut too much, his head (or mouth) inflates and then he died, this dead animation is pretty rare, just watch youtube if ya wanna know it

So what if you are actually Dave and Dave talking to "you" is just him being CRRRRAZY
About the death by wall nut, it happens very rarely when a zombie dies but not by wall nut, it's exclusive to goty, in console it's replace by what you said
9:59 That challenge is impossible tho. In fog days you are limited to 50 sun, if you pick puff shroom you cannot defend the pool and if you choose sea shroom you cannot defeat the other lanes
I think that the: "Zombies are allergic to wall-nuts "refers to the rare death animation (i didn't see the full video, in case it's mentioned later sorry)

If I sound mad I'm not, this is a joke
Actually on the console version of pvz there is a small chance for if a zombie bites a walnut they have a small chance for them to be allergic and die. Keep in mind after the first bite they won’t be allergic. So if you think with each bite a zombie takes of a walnut increases your chances your wrong. And also keep in mind it’s a console only feature
I have a theory of the relationship between Crazy Dave and Dr Zomboss. The two used to be coworkers, a pair of scientists working on a shared project. Something happened during their research, and the two of them were driven mad. Dave's insanity fragmented his memories, so he does not remember working with Zomboss, and does not remember the project they were doing. Zomboss remembers, but due to his own insanity, he never attempts to make Dave remember their past together.
“Zombies are allergic to walnuts” is a reference to the console version where there is a rare death animation of a zombie dying from an allergic reaction after eating a wall but. You can find a video of this on youtube
Correction on the Ice level: It was actually never considered for PVZ, and it was actually just an april fools joke during development. There's a tweet from George Fan confirming it, and I would link it but RUclips seems to get rid of links to prevent spambots. I recommend going to your URL bar and type "twitter dot com" then add a /. After that, put thegeorgefan/status/1124922822810161154 after the /
6:18 i think might refer to the rare death animation of a zombie dieing from choking on a wallnut as they eat it 8:10 highly unlikely, as in GardenWarfare they are far more taller then three feet if you compare them to some of the props ingame (also id love it if you do an iceberg about Gw and possibly bfn?) 8:30 with all due respect well i dont really see that as possible either, sense he has always sided and helped the plants in many of the games, the bumbling voice he has could also be some kind of plant language instead sense alot of the voicelines the gw plant classes have are incoherent nonsense aswell.(aside from sunflower who occasionally mumbles English at times) and theyre skin isnt pale green or missing a nose I have a few suggestions if you ever make a part two relating to all the games (i could give some info on each one) -missing cattail -singing sunflower -fake zombies -advertisement variants -spring blover combo -what is cattail -gw suburban almanac
9:13 The Ice Level is a level for an April Fools build in 2008. People were essentially confused and “The level is broken!“ but that was the whole joke, it was *frozen* for a whole joke. This explains why the Ice Level does not appear to function in the final game when accessed in the Limbo Page.
ah yes Zomba"tony" Whats Tony gotta be doin with anything.... -jokes aside, its a typo and I do see other ppl mention it in the comments so I am not first-
The zombie alergic in wall nut is a referenced to a very rare death animation of a zombie wich if they eat a wall nut there's a chance that they will sufocate to death lol
*Damn he forgot to mention the unused Battle For Neighborville Engineer speech bubble. Apparently in the files, later removed after an update, Engineer actually said "Nigga" on a speech bubble. Nobody knows why Popcap and EA made it, it was probably a developer joke.*
I was expecting to see something about Cat-O-Ninetales. I saw a reddit post of someone asking if it was a real thing from the game and they linked a 2011(?) Comment from a different post mentioning Cat-O-Ninetales
7:39 I think it might be talking about the Football Zombie’s entry, which says he doesn’t know what a football is. In the credits, the Football Zombie says “I used to play football.”
The MJ zombie was changed because the game came out less than a month before he died and so his family asked to have his likeness removed as having a game where you shoot at a zombie Michael Jackson so close to his IRL death was a bit too much.
Let's see how deep this goes...again The iceberg is a block made out of ice... So that means... ITS A HUNK OF SOLID WATER! And it's blue WOW THAT WANST DEEP AT ALL again

while it is completely possible that the player doesn't exist and Crazy Dave is imagining the entirety of Plants Vs. Zombies and Plants Vs. Zombies 2, personally I like to think that Crazy Dave buys and sells Zen Garden Plants with many different home owners, and uses the Zen Garden Plants to help other home owners defend themselves, with his main profit being purchases from his shop and a Marigold farm he has set up somewhere, and his reason for buying one person's fully grown Plants then planting them down when another person needs one planted is because he is crazy also, some of Dave's lines from 5-5 and 5-10 support the fact that he has witnessed others fight off the zombies, as in 5-5 his dialogue heavily implies that he has seen 5-5, and in 5-10 Dave tries to remember what Zomboss' weakness is, and both of those would make quite a bit of sense if Dave has seen other people beat all of the levels
plus Dave was only let go by zomboss AFTER the dance party, as in one scene, he's still held captive by a bungee but I dont think zomboss has been beaten before we did it, dave would probably know his weakness, as he likely worked with zomboss before
I've always adored this game. It's a comfort game to me. I'd play versus mode with my brother. I started playing it again recently, and even finished it, which is something I was never able to do as a kid. Popcap games in general were a big part of my childhood. Same thing with the company Maxus, both of which are now under EA. Spore, Bookworm Adventures, Bejeweled, PVZ, and more were big staples of my childhood.
dave is NOT a zombie for a few reasons: -he was the only one in the zombie apocalypse -he was so used to zombies eating peoples brains that he accidently said brains -dave wears a pot on his head not like zombies, but to defend against zombies trying to eat his brain -he has gone insane from fighting, making him unable to speak well - dave still has hair unlike the zombies -if dave can give you a wallnut and not eat it like a zombie would, he cant be a zombie -he probably fought off the zombies when being grabbed by a bungee zombie (somehow) -dave isnt a zombie as he still has pale skin and not green skin, or well, dead grey-ish skin dave couldve just been super insane to seem like a zombie
I have a new entry: Evil Dave. Evil Dave is a character in the Chinese version of PvZ2, who I never researched much about and don't know about. Last time I checked, this was on the PvZ Wiki.
Also if zombies are allergic to wall nut maybe thats true cuz there is realy rare zonbie animation where zombie when he eats wall nut then his mouth will be diffrent I dont think thats what is it

6: get bored and leave
7: stop saying "no one knows how to play it" because you make it sound like there is a way to play it.
The unused music Zombotany is actually what is supposed to be the final boss music instead of Brainiac Maniac
4:55 I thought he said "The f*** machine" for a minute there
Me 2
holy gosh it does
I have a theory of the relationship between Crazy Dave and Dr Zomboss.
Console versions have a rare chance to make a zombie allergic to wall-nuts
“Zombies are allergic to walnuts” is a reference to the console version where there is a rare death animation of a zombie dying from an allergic reaction after eating a wall but. You can find a video of this on youtube
Actually I found a recording ruclips.net/video/t_7gnpzMd90o/видео.html
DAMN THE EDITING ON THIS VIDEO IS GREAT. You just earned a sub!
4:22 Actually, it appeared in the Facebook version too, for some of you who didn’t know
The Michael Jackson zombie was actually removed because of a bad time, and a few weeks later after the game was made, he died sadly
After that, put thegeorgefan/status/1124922822810161154 after the /
What kind of joke were they even trying
I know it's late, but I think that zombie vase refers to the lack of the vase that gurantees a zombie, similiar to plant vase.
The Zombotany track was an early version of Braniac Maniac, but was changed as it didn't fit the tone.
Seeing how he insists on filling up a column of flower while the zombies are coming just gives me pain
1,000th sub! Great video as well!
Dr zomboss “also says that you are not using plants to defend your home and we are not zombies we are real people trying to help you”
6:18 i think might refer to the rare death animation of a zombie dieing from choking on a wallnut as they eat it
8:10 highly unlikely, as in GardenWarfare they are far more taller then three feet if you compare them to some of the props ingame (also id love it if you do an iceberg about Gw and possibly bfn?)
8:30 with all due respect well i dont really see that as possible either, sense he has always sided and helped the plants in many of the games, the bumbling voice he has could also be some kind of plant language instead sense alot of the voicelines the gw plant classes have are incoherent nonsense aswell.(aside from sunflower who occasionally mumbles English at times) and theyre skin isnt pale green or missing a nose
I have a few suggestions if you ever make a part two relating to all the games (i could give some info on each one)
-missing cattail
-singing sunflower
-fake zombies
-advertisement variants
-spring blover combo
-what is cattail
-gw suburban almanac
9:13 The Ice Level is a level for an April Fools build in 2008. People were essentially confused and “The level is broken!“ but that was the whole joke, it was *frozen* for a whole joke. This explains why the Ice Level does not appear to function in the final game when accessed in the Limbo Page.
6:10 there is a rare death animation where the zombies face inflates after he bites a wallnut
bro you posted quality, you gonna get suscriber
ah yes Zomba"tony"
Whats Tony gotta be doin with anything....
-jokes aside, its a typo and I do see other ppl mention it in the comments so I am not first-
Think they got it mixed up with ZomBotany.
*"VASS"*
10:03 Mephisto: this is only for true gamer!
Me: _Downloading Pvz again to beat it_
The zombie alergic in wall nut is a referenced to a very rare death animation of a zombie wich if they eat a wall nut there's a chance that they will sufocate to death lol
Never imagined the "The Player is Crazy Dave's imaginary friend" part to be that dark
Zombotany was originally the Zomboss theme but it didn't sound energetic enough so they replaced it.
*Damn he forgot to mention the unused Battle For Neighborville Engineer speech bubble. Apparently in the files, later removed after an update, Engineer actually said "Nigga" on a speech bubble. Nobody knows why Popcap and EA made it, it was probably a developer joke.*
People: Screaming about how Dave is a zombie or actually crazy
Me: Just sees him as somebody who joins you on your zombie defeating journey
On the mobile version hypnotized peashooter zombies can only hit other zombies properly
I was expecting to see something about Cat-O-Ninetales. I saw a reddit post of someone asking if it was a real thing from the game and they linked a 2011(?) Comment from a different post mentioning Cat-O-Ninetales
7:39
I think it might be talking about the Football Zombie’s entry, which says he doesn’t know what a football is.
In the credits, the Football Zombie says “I used to play football.”
Sooo damn underrated
The MJ zombie was changed because the game came out less than a month before he died and so his family asked to have his likeness removed as having a game where you shoot at a zombie Michael Jackson so close to his IRL death was a bit too much.
can we do the iceberg of the iceberg
Let's see how deep this goes...
The iceberg is a block made out of ice... So that means... ITS A HUNK OF SOLID WATER!
WOW THAT WANST DEEP AT ALL
@@BRchick don’t forget it’s blue
@@Water_156 oh yeah
Let's see how deep this goes...again
The iceberg is a block made out of ice... So that means... ITS A HUNK OF SOLID WATER! And it's blue
WOW THAT WANST DEEP AT ALL again
@@BRchick no its pretty deep
I love the editing ! Especially for a video all about plants vs zombies !
3:07 cancelled? twitter has gone too far!!!!11!1!1!!!
Dude, I just want to say thank you for introducing your outro song to me, it's such a good song.
Im pretty sure spike weeds "degrading animation" is just his basic body.
When you go into the games files and edit images, for spike weed, its the body with some spiles on it, and the other spikes are selerate images.
Fun fact.
In the files, spikeweed is called caltrop.
10:36 "This suggests that Dave and The Doctor are linked in some way" [Bloom & Doom Seed Co.] Dave & Zomboss were The Founders of Bloom & Doom
9:53 well thats just dumb
while it is completely possible that the player doesn't exist and Crazy Dave is imagining the entirety of Plants Vs. Zombies and Plants Vs. Zombies 2, personally I like to think that Crazy Dave buys and sells Zen Garden Plants with many different home owners, and uses the Zen Garden Plants to help other home owners defend themselves, with his main profit being purchases from his shop and a Marigold farm he has set up somewhere, and his reason for buying one person's fully grown Plants then planting them down when another person needs one planted is because he is crazy
also, some of Dave's lines from 5-5 and 5-10 support the fact that he has witnessed others fight off the zombies, as in 5-5 his dialogue heavily implies that he has seen 5-5, and in 5-10 Dave tries to remember what Zomboss' weakness is, and both of those would make quite a bit of sense if Dave has seen other people beat all of the levels
plus Dave was only let go by zomboss AFTER the dance party, as in one scene, he's still held captive by a bungee
but I dont think zomboss has been beaten before we did it, dave would probably know his weakness, as he likely worked with zomboss before
This was on my mind the whole video to add to the iceberg
WHERE DID THE ZOMBIES COME FROM AND HOW THEY ORGINATED
Same
I almost made a vid on this exact iceberg a while back and I'm glad I didnt cuz this blew what mine was out of the water, great video mate love it!
6:11 sometimes in the console versions zombies have a low chance of dying immediately when eating a wall nut
4:11 fun fact: in pvz garden warfare 1, have this zombie football i swear
Those are Blitzers. They look like Giga Football Zombies but with horns on their helmets.
Best theory is Crazy Dave is a turning zombie imagining this whole game in his head.
dave is NOT a zombie for a few reasons:
-he was the only one in the zombie apocalypse
-he was so used to zombies eating peoples brains that he accidently said brains
-dave wears a pot on his head not like zombies, but to defend against zombies trying to eat his brain
-he has gone insane from fighting, making him unable to speak well
- dave still has hair unlike the zombies
-if dave can give you a wallnut and not eat it like a zombie would, he cant be a zombie
-he probably fought off the zombies when being grabbed by a bungee zombie (somehow)
-dave isnt a zombie as he still has pale skin and not green skin, or well, dead grey-ish skin
dave couldve just been super insane to seem like a zombie
I remember my mom had the version with the michael jackson zombie in her old laptop she never updated the game that was lucky
great video, this brought back a lot of memories from 2014
I played pvz1 when it had the Michael Jackson skin for the dancing zombie! :D
i dont know if you see this but great video dude, keep up the great work!
Thanks man 👍
I feel like I'm the only one that knows why balloon zombies can be killed by lawn mowers
The reason the micheal Jackson looking zombie was removed is due to his death that year so they had to change it
Umm the zombie allergic to wall nut is not a theory its real! the only problem is that it's available in console only.
Wait, the zomboni almanac entry is different on mobile, covering up copyright concerns
I have a new entry: Evil Dave.
Evil Dave is a character in the Chinese version of PvZ2, who I never researched much about and don't know about. Last time I checked, this was on the PvZ Wiki.
I want to say smth I was playing pvz when maicol jeckson zombie was in the game
Also if zombies are allergic to wall nut maybe thats true cuz there is realy rare zonbie animation where zombie when he eats wall nut then his mouth will be diffrent I dont think thats what is it
We need a plants vs space ogres right now!! Lol,great video btw! I grew up playing the game on my first ever computer my mom let me have in my room so this vid makes me rly happy :)
Mephisto: Zombie are'nt allergic to Wallnut
Me: then what about that rare zombie death that got allergic reaction?
9:49 actually the player doesn’t exist theory just states that the player is a imaginary friend and crazy Dave just is doing it by himself protaining to the fact that in the Pvz 2 trailer Dave is credited instead of the player and the fact that the player is know where to be found
I still remember the Michael Jackson zombie when I was little
FunFact: giga foot ball zombie or how I like to call it Giga All-Star appears in garden warfare 1 and 2 but for some reason they are named Blitzer or Berserker
3:53 though on the version that i'm playing (steam game of the year edition) it says to go to zamboni's website
it's actually a pretty creative way to advertise stuff
same
I'm glad this video didn't mentioned PVZ2
I thought it was an actual mini game but it's like a chart of games explained
Pvz is my favorite game I knew almost all of this I am so glad this game is still kinda alive
6:09 it’s actually true, there is a rare death animation
Just realised Michael Jackson died after the first release of PvZ. That explains why they removed it.
Legal issues
Well damn! I thought i just had a certified mandela moment cuz i downloaded the game just recently and i was surprised to not see micheal jackson as the disco zombie. I still call it that tho, shit was engraved in my heart xD
I’ve been with PVZ since the beginning and have been following the series ever since, I NEED to know most of this
