THANK YOU!! "Rotate down and pull away." It came off so easily. I looked at multiple videos and this one was the simplest and straightforward! Thank you!
The diamond on the 3600L is conical. A lot of enthusiasts prefer elliptical. LP gear makes a replacement that will fit that is still quite affordable, the CFN3600LE.
Wow! Not a lot of chat, just a friendly and informative how to. done and done! Thanks for the note on longevity. My needle on the Marley still sounds fine after three or more years. No distortion or anything. I'll pick up a spare though to have on hand.
I would also like to add the VM-95E also has an array of different styli you can upgrade to. The VM-95E is an elliptical stylus (The green one shown). There are other ones like the SH which has a Shibata tipped stylus. There is also a conical and micro-linear tipped variety as well. Like Ortofon's grey stylus, there is a VM-95SP that is specifically for 78's.
My dad is an inpatient person so when we Tried to change the thingy he took a knife and tried to press it open so i sesrched my problem and found this video it worked wonders and now we have nice elton john playing:)
Im so thankful for instructional videos like this that help beginners! if it weren't for them I would've never been able to enjoy my records and turntable! Thank you for helping us newbies! :)
Thanks. This allowed me to easily change the needle on my Pioneer PL-990 to upgrade it. I have a vintage system in my den and wanted a bit more sound from the main room. Appreciate it.
Nice. Although I know how to do most of this stuff you do, I still really enjoy these videos. You've taught me a few things, though. Take care as always and keep making those videos.
This video just saved me from witnessing utter chaos between two family members because one thought that the other broke it when they couldn’t put it on properly on the brand new record player. Both were ready to snap if it wasn't for this. Thanks! 😂
Some good advice but it should also be noted that sound can be adversely affected by dust and debris on the stylus tip. This can be removed by carefully picking off the larger 'dust bunnies' or using a soft brush.
Hey there, great video! i was just wondering if you knew of an elliptical (rsther than conical) stylus that would fit the first turntable's tone-arm, i.e. the same dimensions as the 3600L ? In case it helps, I have a vintage PL-Z82 turntable, with the original stylus (a PN210), with a recommend tracking force of 2.00-3.00g (optimum=2.5). The tracking force etc. are all factory set on the device. Thanks so much yet again for sharing your expertise!!
Excellent. Question, I have this same cartridge/stylus on my Victrola Eastwood Signature player...what is the conical needle's thickness?...3 mil or microgroove 1 mil? Thanks.
I put a Banpa flip cartridge on my Victrola Journey+ signature player and it plays real well. Only took about 5 mins. I have experience changing cartridges. I have the RCA outs connected to a Bose SoundLink. Very good sound. The signature model has better sound anyway. So with the SoundLink it is really good.
This afternoon I bought an AT VM95EN, to replace my VM95E. It's just breaking in (I don't have the amplifier on). I can't wait until I can listen to it at full potential. (My VM95E took about 30 hours of playing time until it was broken in.) I guess I'll have to listen to cassettes for now!
Very informative..well can the typical a dollar crosley stylus fits in that audio technica cartridge too???bec my headshell has the two screws on the top!pls let me know and thanks!
Hello! Thank you so much for making this so easy and informative. I have House of Marley Stir it Up. I was trying to figure out how to replace it. Why was this so hard to find is was beyond me. Does anyone have a link to replace the needle?
Vinyl Rundown I watched a video on these things compared to an Audio-Technica 95E and just looking at the sound waves there is a difference, but just barely!
Can anyone help? I took the clear protector cover off and it ended up pulling off the white needle/cap shown in the video...and now it won't go back on
I have wondered this as well… I am running an aftermarket wide groove stylus for playing 78s on a 3600. But I wonder if the AT91R would fit on it as well?

Glad it helped!
The only sensible video showing how to actually put it on, thanks a lot and bravo for the details!
Superb video. Love your chilled out vibe with record collecting. I'm sure you alleviate a lot of people's concerns. Keep it up.

Thanks for the info, I need one.
This video right here is the one that saved me today. This channel is a god-send.

Great video! VM95E a class above the conical 3600L.

@@Recordology Well, it's only 10 hours playing time at this point. I just can't wait any longer!

Cantilever? I dont even know her!
Hello! Thank you so much for making this so easy and informative.
I have House of Marley Stir it Up. I was trying to figure out how to replace it. Why was this so hard to find is was beyond me.
Does anyone have a link to replace the needle?
Its a common AT3600L easy to find online and cheap to replace.
The best needle for these decks is the blue lp gear one.... absolutely fantastic stylus
Yes, that's the one I was referring to. It's really an underrated gem.
I just now added it to my PL-990. Glad to know others like it too.
Am I able to put a red stylus on it? I accidentally broke off the small needle and I don’t know what to do
Hey there! Would it be possible for you to review the Sony ps-lxh250 turntable please? Love your videos ❤️
Sory l don't understand green one stylus can suit at3600 cartrige? So can we replace them?
Hi! Any idea what to do if it’s not snapping into place? Mine seems extremely loose. Like it would just fall out.
I’ve had this happen too. Try increased force upward.
The stylus tip is not white but I get what you mean. I have two of these.
Vinyl Rundown I watched a video on these things compared to an Audio-Technica 95E and just looking at the sound waves there is a difference, but just barely!
is it true that this needle(atn3600) only lasts 300 to 500 hours only? Even though it's a diamond?
I think so needles need to be replaced around the 300 to 400 hours mark
Will this work on my starter PS-LX310BT?
Very helpful! Thanks.
Thanks for the info !!
So when uou put it back in, it doesn’t necessarily have to click ?
Correct.
Super easy, thanks!
Cant find replacement for this stylus anywhere
Can anyone help? I took the clear protector cover off and it ended up pulling off the white needle/cap shown in the video...and now it won't go back on
Very common.....put the back tab piece in first and then push up on the white part until it snaps back.
What other At styli can replace AT3600L?
I have wondered this as well… I am running an aftermarket wide groove stylus for playing 78s on a 3600. But I wonder if the AT91R would fit on it as well?
@@RecordologyYes. The yellow and the red At91 will fit.
Can you use a red tip stylus in this setup?
Nope this is made for magnetic carts only.
You can upgrade stylus to sperical
Thank u🙏🏾
You’re welcome 😊
🤙
You can use 6 mounts for non stop playing☆☆☆☆☆
