Context... Information holding up the pillars... There's what can be academically acquired... and then there's context of having lived that picture he painted... alliteration... Rhymes that are contained within the center of one line... But from far away, his lyrics are almost so simple to the eye but if you just break down the structure, it's literally its own groove... Rap is LITERALLY spoken poetry... It's only become more melodic over the years but in the beginning it was literally spoken poetry to a drum beat... It's a story, usually historical fiction...rappers are just authors who LITERALLY speak their literature to their audience...Has a rhyme scheme and everything.... Conforms to many practices that normal, high level writers conform to (like the aforementioned alliteration or an AB rhyme scheme).... Their distinct voices or styles of rhyming are akin to the many myriad of voices that are heard from the infinite pieces of writing that exists today... No different from Poe to Hawthorne or Kafka when one reads their work... The voice that narrates within your mind as you read a Poe short story is VASTLY different from a Kafka talking about human bugs lol... It's meant to be simple... But it's the Mozarts who take that simplicity and create these grand sagas from words (or notes).... Then giving it to music to create the opera.... Some folks write stories... Some sing em... Some rap them... They're all authors...or poets...in one of Kafka's pieces he sang about a trapped man from the perspective of the man... With context, his audience can maybe relate to the subject matter, maybe even identifying with the struggle in the story... Same with Tupac... He's initially an easy read... metaphors and such, nothing too deep... Until you do a literary critique of it on paper.. and realize that it was delivered with so much simplicity that the complexities got weaved in between.... Take away the music and it's the same as you reading 'the Canterbury Tales'... You've just gotta adjust to the slang of the time, old English, and it's a read... Same logic with the cursing and language... Some rose tinted vernacular for the ears if you will lol... and boom... Context acquired... Sorry I'm so all over the place, I'm having awesome insomnia right now
I enjoyed this reaction. I’m not well versed in poetry, but I think that Blasphemy by Makaveli (Tupac decided to use this stage name before his death) would be considered one of his more poetic songs, just in terms of number of metaphors used (2nd to “Me and my Girlfriend” which you already reacted to).
Should of watched the video. It displays his death the exact way he died. It's weird as if he predicted his own death. 2Pac was sometimes else. Very special man. I love the way you interpreted this song.
Btw, for you own enjoyment and in your private time, watch the official music video for this song, it actually adds a lot of context to the story. It's worth watching once.
the video last verse is the most poetic of all : Father forgive us for livin while all my homies stuck in prison Barely breatin believin that the world is a prison It's like a ghetto we can never leave A broken rose givin bloom to the cracks of the concrete So many other things for us to see Things to be, our history so full of tragedy and misery To all my homies never made it home The dead peers I shed tattooed tears for, when I'm alone Picture us inside a ghetto heaven, a place to rest Findin peace through this land of stress In my chest I feel pain comin sudden storms Life full of rain in this game watch for lead thorns Our unborn never got to grow, never got to see what's next In this world full of countless threats I beg God, to make a way for our ghetto kids to breathe Show a sign, make us all believe Cause I ain't mad at cha
I interpreted this song as a story about two friends who were very similar as kids growing up, living the life of petty crime. One becomes religious, and leaves that lifestyle. The other goes deeper into it and becomes a criminal, a dealer, getting locked up, etc. Even though they haven't talked to eachother for along time, they want eachother to know they will always have eachothers backs and be there for eachother when needed.
Would love for you to give your analysis of my pages music. I've given up the dream of fam well over 10yrs ago. But still love yo write and record. I always fear that although I can relate to my writings, the points may not be as easily understood by others. Not due to a lack of intelligence on their part. Rather, because I tend to live in my own mind. If that makes sense? 🤷🏾♂️😁 Loved your take on anyone out there by yhe scarecrow. My fav group growing up as a youth ✊🏽💪🏾🖤
Well, I am Black and I work in Hollywood. I'm I grew up in an beautiful large House in the suburbs. I was here before they began signing the "Hood Guys" began getting signed. I am sorry but all Black people are not from the Hood. I can't relate to this element, they are affiliated with Gangs. I never bought one CD, but people approach Me like I know these types of people. I don't, and they have disgusting Lyric's about Women. These folks need to realize, you wouldn't BE HERE HEALTHY, WITHOUT A WOMAN.
Pacs music is about the oppressed rising against the oppressors. You should react to Pacs 1st studio album... 2pacolypse Now... that “ Gangsta” Image 90% was Pumped by the media... pac never claimed to be the biggest “Gangsta” he claimed to be the -Realist out there- and that poured into his music and acting ..🙏💯
@@godson_8343 Why do I disagree? Well, if someone said there was a gremlin on my shoulder, but provided no evidence or proof then they asserted "The gremlin is real believe it or not," I'd say "I disagree."

I don't like to dwelve into these topics but let me clarify. God is real. But only in the sense that we are images of God. That is, we come into existence and have to polar choices to make - (1) realize our true potential (i.e., perfect our "image", as God is perfection), or (2) be insignifant. The former is the "Creater" and the more we realize our potential, the better (more significant) things we create and leave behind; and the latter is one who gets comfortable let's his creative energy wither away. Read the Qur'an and other significant religious scripture with this perspective and you'll see that "angels" and "demons" are allegorical truth - they are states of being - not invisible creatures. General rule of thumb is that if the human mind cannot perceive it, then there is a more significant meaning behind the unperceivable. Develop sound logic and reason and paint a better picture. Be pragmatic. With best regards and sue respect, do not be a simple-minded follower of any religion, and do not be a narrow-minded atheist. Knowledge exists to serve its purpose. Use it wisely and do not ignore its light

I’d suggest that you listen to Makaveli The 7 Day Theory, the whole album, start to finish, 12 tracks, 1 hour of excellence.
True indeed
Indeed Indeed but then you would have to hear me against the world in its entirety the most introspective album I've ever heard
I appreciate the fact you listen to the G.O.A.T Greatest Of All Time. Pac's music will live FOREVER!!!

This is cool. I really really prefer the 3rd verse on the video version. Its worth the read if you're looking at this song.
The photo of the guy is the singer Danny Boy he recently came out as gay, your observations are really interesting

Father forgive us for livin while all my homies stuck in prison

It's like a ghetto we can never leave
A broken rose givin bloom to the cracks of the concrete
So many other things for us to see
Things to be, our history so full of tragedy and misery
To all my homies never made it home
The dead peers I shed tattooed tears for, when I'm alone
Picture us inside a ghetto heaven, a place to rest
Findin peace through this land of stress
In my chest I feel pain comin sudden storms
Life full of rain in this game watch for lead thorns
Our unborn never got to grow, never got to see what's next
In this world full of countless threats
I beg God, to make a way for our ghetto kids to breathe
Show a sign, make us all believe
Cause I ain't mad at cha

That chorus sounds like pain and struggle bruther. T.i.p 2PAC
