Facts, but they do also have 9 months to improve the graphics and gameplay so I'm not worried about that tbh. Especially considering how much art and design they showed after the main gameplay trailer👌

I like how the time is before harry and the crew was there. I always wanted to explore the people in the wizarding world that I did not know about. Even Merlin leaving his creations behind. Which makes me compare him to Dumbledore. How powerful was Merlin? How was Slytherin house was back then? The people in it? Etc.
Gives me massive Bully meets Dragon Age and Fable vibes in terms of the combat and followers. Loving what I'm seeing so far just hope the character creation is good maybe not Fallout 4 levels of face creation but would love like Skyrim levels at best. The graphics do look like a fun mix of realistic and stylised mostly the characters themselves but the world looks amazing. There's still room of course for fixes from animations to faces.
I liked the look of the characters from the original leaked trailer i can't describe it. They look more "thin" in the face ig.. but i get cyberpunk with the characters looks

I've been waiting for Bully 2 for nearly 16 years, I will happily accept Hogwarts Legacy seeing instead as modern-day Rockstar can't be trusted anymore
I do wonder if this is just going to be a year 5 story or if it will be 5-7 because the size of locations really feels like something you wouldn't be exploring in just one year
I am very, very confident that this is a 1 year story for a number of reasons. Not least of those reasons; There has been NO mention of anything related to end-of-year activities.

In my opinion graphics look pretty good, the style of the graphics feel pretty cool for this type of game, they could have been better, yes, the graphics look more like ps4 plus, the physics when the characters fix the bridge, feel like even ps3 physics, the graphics have a touch of next gen, but in general they still feel old gen. The gameplay is something we'll all have to see, it looks interesting at first sight.
It's not a current-gen game so this is not that surprising. it looks very good for a cross-gen game which is made by a company that hasn't really made anything like this before. Lighting in the game definitely looks top tier.
even in the video there was a message saying that it is a work in progress and they have almost until the end of the year to give everything a polish
They seem to have taken the opposite route to cyberpunk in that it was developed for old gen and then worked up. It's sensible because they will have a huge fanbase that can play the game as I feel Harry Potter fans will be very gen old console owners.
you have to remember this was delayed almost 2 years, it was made as a cross generation game, it was built for the PS4 Pro and Xbox one X, but they do still have a fair few months and in game development the last few months are when the game gets polished so hopefully we will see a slight improvemnt

Yes, that was Peeves the Poltergeist. If Peeves gives you any trouble in the game, just cast the spell "Oscausi" (seal mouth shut) on him. Then you can enjoy a relaxing evening reading in the restricted section of the library.
Not being nit picky but at 20:04, the distinct message of the common room artwork was a light well pouring in from the clearstory windows bathing the plants, but then the actual common room, it seems like there was a disconnect in which that entire goal was removed, since there is no more natural light?
Keep in mind. Multiple difficulty options have been confirmed for those who want harder or lesser difficulty.
Loved every minute of it. dream come true. also the game is 7~ months away so there's a lot of headroom for them to polish the graphics, animations and much more..!
Totally agree! It’s not even a major issue, it was just something that jarred for me. I think the game looks beautiful regardless! Very excited to dive in later this year!
I recently took the test and found I was a Ravenclaw too.
It's funny because I was always curious about them despite the movies and books focus on Gryffindor and Slytherin.
My wife, my sister, my nephew and myself have been waiting years for this game. From back when it was just a rumor and not confirmed to seeing all that has come out about it these last few months. I can't wait to play this and the love and care put in to this by the devs is awesome to see.
As for the forbidden curse, they have made the game to allow the player to choose whether to be good or go bad and join the goblins even. I love that it allows for anything you want to do.
Don’t think the graphics will be bad when it comes out, it was delayed so that they could work on it. But i think its also just the style they’re trying to do

They could still make a ps5 exclusive textures, just like fifa did with the last game. I mean, games are not all about the graphics, people instead look for good gameplay, and as this games is meant to be an open world rpg, gameplay has to accompany the rest or even be the best thing in the game, hard to achieve for a game like this but it looks interesting so far, in my case graphics are very important, I see a great environment, pretty good graphics, gameplay looks good but that's something to be tested. if the game is balanced in all aspects is a must buy for me

Yes that was a dragon that passed you when you were flying on the Hippogriff. Notice the dragon did NOT turn to attack you. Was this a tamed dragon? One of the very first scenes in this trailer shows a dragon roaring right behind our avatar and Sweet Poppy Sweeting (who is very good with creatures). Notice that dragon is NOT trying to kill them or fry them with dragon fire. Is this a tamed dragon? (If we can tame dragons, can we also ride dragons in this game?).
I only have three wishes for this game.
1.) Hedwig's theme being part of the soundtrack.
2.) DRM-free.
3.) The ability to continue playing and exploring after the end of the main quest. Hell I'll even welcome repeatable content.
The last two items are most important for me; I grew up with the old PS1 versions of the first two Harry Potter games, so Hedwig's theme is optional, but damn would it be awesome to get that in here.
This can't come out fast enough! Definitely playing through as a ravenclaw my first go round. Did you see the newer trailers for each common room?
You know and recognized the kitchen's and prefect bathroom, noticed Peeves and actually appreciated the aspects of the game. Because of those reasons among other I liked the video and subscribed!!!

I still have Prisoner of Azkaban for the PC (which is more shorter than the PS2 version) This brings back the feeling of exploration with the first three Harry Potter games, except a lot more, hyped! I don't know why the other games went more linear.
Hope this gets 90+ on Metacrtic when released and if so will be the biggest selling game ever i'm sure!!.... good to see the Quidditch tease in that trailer and hopefully maybe Diagon Alley as Gringotts was also featured?!!! 🧙
I hope they do a few graphical polishing and more gameplay mechanic enhancements and a little bit more designs here and there when it comes to the castle! But please no microtransactions I'm fine with just added DLC stuff! I don't want to play the lottery to get what I want!

Just out of curiosity because I've seen a few people say this, are you talking about the voice acting? Because personally I haven't noticed the graphics being bad at all x
In my opinion, the environments are some of the best I've seen. The character models are a bit off, and the voice acting is as well. All in all, probably going to be an amazing experience.
@@joeythebrit7155 Yeah indoors look good, lighting outside looks good and saw some good texture work at times. No real complains from me. That first scene when we see him fly on the broom out in the open the lighting and the color usage is amazing. Not everything looks amazing graphically but in general it's strange to complain about graphics in a game that from this reveal looks better than most. It's a cross-gen title afterall.
@@MalphasMikaelson Agreed, I thought it looked incredible but it would be fine if it didn't, not every game needs to be on Ghost of Tsushima's level, if the story and gameplay are good, that's what makes a game a masterpiece.
Game Map: For a single player game, the game map is HUGE! There is a revealed piece of the game map that is 1/6th of the complete map. The complete game map is estimated to be 36 sq.Km. (possibly 36 sq.Miles?) The map is highly detailed with points of interest, dungeons, caves, hamlets, buildings and settlements. I suspect Hogwarts will be located in the center of the game map so we can explore in all directions. And then there are the off-map locations. Azkaban Prison is out in the North Sea. We know Gringotts Bank is in the game, that is in London some 300 miles to the south. (no other London locations have been confirmed). Plenty of room for hundreds of hours of magical game play.
The graphics are completely serviceable and I’d even say good. It’s not what I want to play this game for anyways. Also the Killing curse was used because the narrator said you have the option to go down a dark path if you choose
I’m glad you made a video on this because in 10 years people are gonna look back back at this and say this is the trailer for the best game of the decade.

The combat sorta reminds me of the Spider-Man PS4 games. Don’t know why. Maybe it’s the stuns, dodges, picking people up in the air and throwing/pulling/slamming them. High hopes for sure

As a huge Potterhead I seriously don't care if it's considered "bad" or anything like that I've been waiting for this Game for awhile and the fact that you can pick your character, the path you want to go on, your house, etc is just Phenomenal it's going to be a FANTASTIC game!! 😄😊
I think what made the early Harry Potter games so fun was the puzzles over the combat. So I hope there’s at least an equal amount of each.

Who says we can't use the Killing Curse freely in the game? The three Unforgivable Curses; Avada Kedavra (killing curse), Crucio (Cruciatus Curse aka. Torture Curse), and Imperio (Imperius Curse, place victim completely under your control) are only Unforgivable if they are cast on a human. (Ministry of Magic Law: Non-humans are not allowed to use a wand. House Elves and Goblins are not allowed to use a wand; they are non-human.) In the trailer you see Avada Kedavra cast on a Goblin. No Azkaban prison for you. I am hoping that all three Unforgivable Curses are in the game. For my "Evil Hufflepuff" play through I hope to use the Imperio Curse to control the undead, and play as a Necromancer. (How many house points will Hufflepuff loose if a 5th. year student goes to Azkaban Prison for life?) Last year's reveal trailer shows that Azkaban Prison and Dementors are in the game. They are there for a reason. Choose your friends carefully and use your Dark Magic wisely.

The exploring is hopefully going to be as fun as it looks. The missions and sidequests have to be really good imo and good combat mechanics help with that. The forbidden curses seem to be in it, but I think they'll only be available to use in very specific situations (some bosses). You don't seem to be able to just go around and murder everyone which makes sense because that would probably break the whole story very quickly and you would end up in Azkaban.
Haha that’s true! I think there could definitely be morality paths to choose which is very interesting! I am so excited to explore in this game!

The wizarding world in legacy looks like the world of Skyrim
I like that the game does a lot to detach itself from what we've read in the books and seen in the movies (and a certain somebody's toxicity). The castle looks gorgeous, the new teachers seem intriguing (actually, since it's the late 1800s, I feel like we might meet Dumbledore as a student), the visuals and activities are definitely unique. Unlike stuff like "Hogwarts Mystery", the main character doesn't seem to be The Most Unique Chosen One who has all the powers and titles; yes, there is something new about them, but that's pretty much every game protagonist ever.
That being said, I am slightly concerned about the plot shown; we seemingly have a group of goblins who want to cause chaos and gain importance... putting that together with the fact what the goblins were representing in the books... I feel like we're stepping on thin ice here. I'll be content if it's a red herring but will look out for that.
It’s super interesting! I love that they have set this in the 1800s and we have heard before about the Goblin Rebellion in the books I believe. So I’m intrigued to find out more on the plot. From the look of this game and listening to the game devs, they really are massive fans of the series and have done so much research that I’m super sure they will represent the goblin rebellion very well. 👍🏻 can’t wait to find out more really!
Well, according to the Playstation Blog, we do still become a Hogwarts celebrity due to having survived _something_ .
Plus, we get mysterious power to master ancient magic.
So we are still special in some way, not an average joe.

For now you could play Hogwarts mystery on the fone until you wait for this game it’s my favorite fone game it’s super fun and addicting btw it will most likely be set in 1890 2 years before albus started going to Hogwarts because that’s when ranoks rebellion was started and btw 🐍 Proud Slytherin 🐍 here

The year is 1890. We know from the developers that our avatar is a "New" student starting at Hogwarts late as a 5th. year student. The developers never say our avatar is a "Beginner". His classroom duel partner ASSUMES he is a beginner. The result of the duel shows us that our avatar is NOT a beginner. This game is BIGGER than you think. Exploration in this game is huge. The level of detail is amazing. The main story-line in this game is "YOU the Student at Hogwarts". There is something about you that could destroy the whole wizarding world. Hogwarts Legacy appears to have at least five in-game story-lines: "Goblin Rebellion", "Mysterious Corruption (red eyes)", "Poachers of Magical Creatures", "Merlin's Legacy", and "Ancient Magic". The game design allows us to support, oppose, or ignore any or all story-lines as we choose. This game is totally about choices. There is no single story-line linear game-play that forces you to do anything. Game design supports many different styles and levels of combat. You can choose to do no combat at all in this game and there will still be tons of stuff to do. You get to choose what you learn in your classes and what knowledge you use in the world. (Don't skip your classes, as class is a major way you level up your skills and abilities). You get to build, craft, brew, grow, tame, collect and fight as you choose, when you choose. And at every corner you will be able to choose good/evil. But Beware! Last year's reveal trailer shows that Azkaban Prison and Dementors are in the game. They are there for a reason. "Mischief Managed."

The game is far from finished. The graphics may be refined when it releases, but what I'm a little concerned about is monetization. I just hope Moonstones won't be something you can buy in a store to upgrade a potion's station or something. And I'm also slightly concerned about the facial animations as well. On that goblin it kinda looked funky with the way his mouth was moving, and that girl with the love for animals had a bit of an unnatural look with her eyes and mouth. But again it's unfinished and they might fix it. Sorry for the rant and being a little negative but I truly have high hopes for this game. I want it so badly.
The community manager confirmed on Twitter that there won't be microtransactions. The timers in room of requirement will likely be similar to the timers in Ni No Kuni 2's kingdom builder, meaning that you're encouraged to go explore while the plants are growing and potions are brewing.
