i used to drive my father-in-laws ford popular and that thing was all original 3speed box but was so fun to drive around and used to cruise at 60 on the motorway. can wait to see a video when that thing is finished it'll be mental 👍
Loving the videos Marcus Hayes. Coming from way over the pond in Australia, we did have the Ford Escort & Cortinas but wouldn't have been as popular as in the UK. My first car was a TE or MK4 Cortina and I must say that I miss that car even with it's down sides. I currently have a TD Cortina or MK3 shell sitting in my garage, which has been sitting for a long time, around 12 years. Due to health issues and having to have heart surgery and being placed on Warfarin medication (blood thinners) the project was put on hold. Pretty much was afraid of cutting my self and the risk of bleeding due to the meds I'am on. Though I recently thought stuff it you only live once and I'am going to restart on the Cortina. Engine wise we had the inline 6's and the 4's as options. Not wanting to do the inline 6 and wanting to do something different here, looking at the Zetec. How hard are these to fit in a MK3 Cortina, does a conversion kit exist to put a Zetec and gearbox into a Cortina or do people have to make it themselves?
Sorry to hear about your health issues! 🙁 Fair play for deciding to crack on with the project tho mate. Im sure you'll be fine if you take your time and make sure you don't cut yourself. Have a search on google. Im sure there are plenty of Mk3 Cortinas with Zetec lumps. Retro Ford (over here in England) do conversion parts for Mk1 & Mk2 cortinas. Maybe drop them an email and see if they can advise you. Let them know I sent you. www.retroford.co.uk/ 👍

Another great video mate and what a nice guy...Mike
Amazing project, sad to hear that the kit car is going, but he already has a lot of cool cars, so someone else is going to enjoy that beauty 👏
Yes the kit car has sentimental value because Leigh built it with his Dad AND it boasts an awesome spec BUT Leigh just doesn't use it. 👍
Love it, hopefully you can follow this build 👍
He's got skills that fella
He's an idiot with a welder (Leigh's own words! 😃)
If he were to keep the existing body profile, that 100e could be a killer sleeper.
They do look awesome with the Escort bubble arches tho!! 👍
Love it

Definitely will be following this one
