I'm autistic. To see another human do this and not a robot is amazing. It looks like magic to me. You are very talented! All good wishes.

Those nails around the outside ... I used to use pencil grids for my "from photograph" drawings - to ensure accuracy, since photographic realism is pretty hard (and elusive) to do with ballpoint pen AND:
What I recall about those grids was the TIME they took to complete and the monotony of measuring accurately - especially around eyes and such ANYWAY - I wondered this myself back then and now you've made me wonder it again: Is there a way of having the nails pre-set into a softer strip of something that you could then stand along the edge you're working on and start tapping in the preset nails? I can't off the top of my head think of what that strip would have to be made of. It needs to be something that could be removed after nailing and refilled and used again. You could spend those monotonous hours pre-building nail strips during times when you don't feel like making art. I'm picturing two long strips of softer wood with small grooves every quarter inch or whatever - and then attaching the other wood strip to the other side with 2 or 3 screws. It's probably a dumb idea for reasons that you've already thought of - but out of curiosity - reply with "dumb" or "not dumb". If the idea sounds stupid, I'm not worried about tons of people reading it because, as people have pointed out, you don't have a quarter of the traffic that your artwork deserves - but that's another matter. I'm just trying to save you a major hassle.
