- Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon in which the mind responds to a stimulus, usually an image or a sound, by perceiving a familiar pattern where none exists.
Common examples are perceived images of animals, faces, or objects in cloud formations, the Man in the Moon, the Moon rabbit, hidden messages in recorded music played in reverse or at higher- or lower-than-normal speeds and hearing indistinct voices in random noise such as that produced by air conditioners or fans.

This is really great stuff. I’ve always seen faces in everyday objects. Tonight, while on a photo walk I took some some shots of faces in objects that really made the hair on my skin stand up. Some dark and gruely images. Had to go home and think about why I was seeing these things. I think I have finally found my niche as a photographer.

Most of the fsace will be morphed because your looking at different layers(dimensions) of faces put together so it makes them appear to be, in society's eyes grotesque, but in reality they would look like me and you mostly. Look at a flat surface then you wlll see the real face on one layer(dimension)...if this makes any sense at all to you. If not your not advanced enough yet to understand..
Those were amazing until recently I thought it was just me who saw faces, [ I have done all my life ] but now I know its called pareidolia and quite common so thank you for that X

A good collection and I've learned a new word.
Drunk octopus wanting a fight has always been the undisputed heavyweight champion of pareidolia.
I once saw a cloud shaped perfectly like a pig. It had four hooves, curly tail ,ears and everything. It was the perfect representation of a pig ,but unfortunately during that time I didn't have a phone and was unable to snap photo. I sit outside watching the clouds hoping I would be fortunate enough to witness it reoccur or I will see another highly detailed cloud formation but it never does.

I think this is why ancient peoples saw spirits and monsters everywhere. I was riding down along the Tyrrhenian sea
once and saw enormous clouds parading by, just like a procession of people and animals, a strange assortment!

Years and years ago, I saw a shark cloud at night that was lit up by the moon behind it. It even had an eye where the moon peaked through.

Pareidolia is also when you hear something and it sounds like it is saying something else rather than what it's originally saying, I had this effect when I was playing friday night funkin, in some songs like bopeebo and pico, I can hear them speak normally, I can also swear they are speaking spanish lol

Yeah for some it maybe a disorder but if your faces have a certain criteria , like all of them have something in common ,let me know ,get back to me OK And if they do then you probably do not have a disorderl...

The saw in my grandmas shed in her backyard had a face: two screws were the eyes and the saw was the mouth (the saw was hanging from a nail upside down) I never went near that thing ever in my childhood…
And yes ofc it looked so creepy it scared the living daylights out of me…

I have always thought everyone can see those faces and characterists of them and hidden shapes too. I'm curious, are you who see these images good at drawing and/or visual arts? People have said I'm exceptionally good at drawing. I see faces and images everywhere I look in everyday objects. I used to draw a lot when I was younger and when I didn't have an idea what to draw I dropped a long necklace on a paper, drew the outlines of it and started drawing based on the shape of it.
You need to start drawing again. 😘

При чому, навіть бачу, що то чоловік молодий, чи вже старенький, чи в профіль, чи в анфас, або ж сам погляд очей.... В дитинстві дуже любила малювати, пізніше, після народження дитини, несподівано стала вишивати картини, пейзажі, натюрморти і трохи людей...то ж правду сказав мій майстер, який робив для моїх картин рамки '' у вас художній погляд на світ ''... This is like Alice in Wonderland where she sees faces in doorknobs, flowers etc. It’s not a disorder, everyone has it except people with aphantasia who literally have no imagination and can’t picture anything in their head

@@colorscream even animals have it, some animals actually evolve to have markings to scare other animals off, like butterflies have circular markings on their wings that look like big eyes so predators think it’s a larger animal staring back at them and won’t attack or eat them

Does anyone see real faces in ordinary objects like a gate. But its like a "pic" of someone's face u "paste" into the object, like a gate and see the face of this person in detail through the lines of the gate or u see like a "character" that "suites" it. Like the gate might have a rusted piece near its edge, or it leans in a certain way. I from South Africa and our head over traffic lights are not the same as those in America. To me those traffic lights are beautiful and i tend to see faces i find beautiful in them or i see its "character" when i mean character, i mean what this object would have been like if it were alive with a personality. I know what i see is not real, but they can cause me pain when ive lost someone i care about, i tend to see their faces in objects I consider beautiful... I never chose to be like this... ive been like this since i can remember and im almost 29. If someone experiences this plz respond with comments
When i think about ppl it seems to feel like i think about them "outside" of my mind cuz i their faces in the objects around me and when i talk about someone, and i dont always make proper eye contact with people and im clumsily. Yes i feel emotions when i see it. And honestly i like it

Dailusional don't worry when i was little I used to have them all the time I was so young I thought it was real it was just like the saying "living in your dram dreams" then it turned out to be psychosis. Go get help if you suspect anything.

I've always seen faces on so many different things and places. So did my Mom. A few years ago when I was at the beach, I took pictures of the shore with the waves coming in. It wasn't until I looked at them later on, that I noticed a sinister looking face in the foam made from the wave! 😳

I have been seeing images and faces in objects . And now I have begun sketching them...especially smiling faces with showing the teeth/. oooh..and that object looks like some kind of baby lamb..(sheep)
