It’s surprising that the first question was questioning the translation accuracy. I had been pulled straight into my heart for an hour and the ending of the talk kept me beautiful. I couldn’t imagine questioning anything in the state of perfect bliss where Rumi’s teachings lead us. Also, much appreciation to the lecturer. It was beautifully said. Thank you. ❤️

Thank you. Please keep on sharing. At one point you mentioned “we able to detach”. How can we do that?
I just had a broken relationship with someone I thought that loved me. I felt part of me have gone as I dreamt to marry her and I prayed to god to be with her but then she left me.
She a Christian and converted to Islam, I thought that’s a sign. When she left me, I started to question to God on why we both met and it left me in state of void.
I tried understand further then discovered Rumi. Still seeking for answers.

It’s been a year since your comment. I’d like to know how you feel now. I’ve learned that we should never let anything determine our happiness. God gave us happiness. It’s already in us. It is not contingent on people. Her presence is appreciated, but if/when she leaves, your happiness shouldn’t leave with her. I believe that you left yourself in a state of void. The lady was a drug. It felt great when u had her, & horrible when she left. But if she stayed, you’d feel just as bad. Because it WASNT love. It was a thrill.

Your post was very interesting. Many things happen in relationships, that we can't seem to answer.
Be aware that God doesn't go with signs and superstition and so on.
We can often want something so much that we persuade ourself that it was true love or God's will, but it wasn't. It was only us wanting that thing to happen. Wanting a
Relationship so much we can fall into that trap of a kind of illusion. Where we perceive any good thing as a positive sign. But it's not. The true thing about what happened in your relationship is when she left.
And I bet if you ask her why she left? She'd possibly say something like " I loved you but didn't want to be with you"
It's better that she woke from the dream, before it went any further- like marriage-and many more people got hurt!!

God sent His beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to teach humanity about God and to teach us how to love God, how to reach the state of perfect servanthood. For that purpose the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ told his companions "do as you see me doing" and his companions learned things from him then dedicated their whole life in acting upon these teachings and transfering the life and sayings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to all the human beings who have to come till the end of this world. So we need to take this first step of "doing as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did" it is the only way. Without this step no one can attain the station of Rumi because all other roads lead towards hell as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said " the road towards hell is paved with good intentions" you can't avoid the way of a person who was sent by God to show humanity "the way towards God"

I was that person. When I was given Rumi it was framed as romantic poetry, and as such didn't impress me with the impact it most certainly does today.

There's no east or west. The source comes through it all however it wants. Love of man ultimately leads to the love of Allah and Allah guides whoever he wills. Westerners rediscovered him when the east had almost forsaken him. They will find the truth cause as the lecture says the pull is there in all.
