Yeah, but that's for people watching the show to follow what's going on. No matter the show, there's often a bit of nuance into various moves, and so having someone break it down for the fans is pretty typical. In the case of CCG anime, the players tend not to have the cards (or rulebook) in front of them, so having a character explain what they do is a stand in for the fact you can't lean over and read the card yourself. You also see this with some things like Naruto when, if a character does something particularly clever in an episode (or wins a fight 2-3 episodes later due to something they set up earlier), they do that black and white flashback thing while they explain it to the audience for the people that might not have understood it otherwise. 100% it's an "always that one guy that..." trope, but it's a trope that exists for a fairly good reason, I think...

Definitely my siblings and I trying to play an UNO spinoff where the cards are Monster High themed and bent so much that you can fold them and they stay that way.
That's because some of the speaking parts happen at the same time, but cannot be shown at the same time. @@michaelzheng5250 If you don't say uno before playing your second last card and someone catches you before the next turn begins you have to draw 4 cards from the deck.

There's an anime about a burnt piece of bread. Meeting other pieces of bread in it's quest to get bought and then realising that being bought and eaten is the worst possible death. It's quite interesting.

I almost bust a gut laughing at this. Then I showed it to my mom, and she didn't laugh at all. She was like, "Yep, that's an anime," and then she gave me a breakdown on the old anime that used to run on UHF stations.
No, Yuno has a black card in his hand, presuming it's a draw four wild card, he then gets countered, and has to pick up 8 cards, Yuno then says the new colour is green, and places his finishing card, the green four. Yumo places down his card and wins the tournament, The end.
Me and my cousin : i dont know how to write it in english : je pose une carte face cave et je termine mon tour! ----> I lay a card face down and I finish my turn!(réf to Yugi Oh!)😂😂😂
This is so perfect! The underdog protagonist, the know-it-all best friend who explains everything, the useless romantic interest, the impressed veteran, the sexually questionable villain, everything!
Michael Mello if I had to guess, I’d say Yuno is obviously Yugi or Jaden, Black hair guy is Joey, fat guy who reacted to the skip Card is Tristan, Glasses Guy is a lot like Bastion, Yanagi(also reacted to the skip Card) is like Mai or Alexis, White haired guy(not villain) is like Kaiba or Zane, and the villain is pretty much any Yugioh villain. Mostly Pegasus and Zigfried, but really any of them work. Also, the girl at the beginning I can’t actually compare to a character other than maybe Tèa, but they seem different somehow.
+Digger Animations back in my school we played with our "infinite cycles of cards" rule basically any +2 or +4 card could be passed on any number of times sometimes ending in someone drawing 12 cards! it was glorious...
TheNerd484 to my knowledge in the original rules you are only allowed to resend a +2 card with another +2 card and same with +4 and only once to the next player but with this rule set 1) any + card can resend another 2) it can be resend as long as you have a + card to add to the pile 3) if you cant resend it you get the total amount of +cards as has been resent example: 4 players 1 sends +4 2 sends +2 (colour doesnt matter) 2 sends another +2 but 3 doesn't have any so he has to draw 8 cards alternatively you can say that +4´and +2 doesn't stack but its all up to you
The only thing missing from this is the implication/outright statement about the world's fate depending completely upon y/uno and way ridiculous set pieces. Like a rocket jet made out of the skip, reverse and draw two cards. Oh yes and a tournament where our hero must face the creator/champion of UNO
Yuno would always have to be on the verge of losing his soul to the numbers realm, which I'd suppose it's a math class that you can leave only by using the power of friendship, and then he'd play 12 cards in one turn bending the rules of the game by assigning very specific effects to otherwise useless cards like a green 4.
Plot twist: He forgets to call "Uno" once he places down the card.

dude, this was back in season one. There were no official rules these days, the cardgame was inspired by the second season (the Unocity-tournament), which actually established some rules (like having to yell "Uno" with only one card left)
meced1 i like the anime better tbh it fixed a couple of plotholes like the 6 draw wild 4 cards in the semis
meced1 but everyone can agree that season 4 was the worst. Terrible villains, a new card that sealed a color. Just filler garbage
I agree I think season 5 was probably the best season yet tho
nah season 7 was probably the best, great villains great plot, amazing music and visuals, hoping it gets another season thats just as good
Finally a card game anime I can actually understand what’s going on in
I like how there is even that one character that has a little bit of a monotone voice and describes the rules even though we already know the rules.

This is so perfect! The underdog protagonist, the know-it-all best friend who explains everything, the useless romantic interest, the impressed veteran, the sexually questionable villain, everything!
Michael Mello "the sexually questionable villain" 😂😂😂
There is one thing that is not here... THE TSUNDERE!!
@@quarth9396 obviously the sexually questionable villain or the self-filled brat can and will become the Tsundere
The tsundere is missing!
The word ACCURATE is not strong enough to define how SPOT ON THIS IS….like AT ALL
What do you mean people don't actually do this when they play Uno
+Digger Animations back in my school we played with our "infinite cycles of cards" rule
basically any +2 or +4 card could be passed on any number of times
sometimes ending in someone drawing 12 cards!
it was glorious...
+frederik vedersø could you please clarify what you mean by "any number of times"? I might want to try this some time.
TheNerd484 to my knowledge in the original rules you are only allowed to resend a +2 card with another +2 card and same with +4
and only once to the next player
but with this rule set
1) any + card can resend another
2) it can be resend as long as you have a + card to add to the pile
3) if you cant resend it you get the total amount of +cards as has been resent
example:
4 players
1 sends +4
2 sends +2 (colour doesnt matter)
2 sends another +2
but 3 doesn't have any so he has to draw 8 cards
alternatively you can say that +4´and +2
doesn't stack but its all up to you
+frederik vedersø cool, thanks.
TheNerd484 no problem and have fun!
The only thing missing from this is the implication/outright statement about the world's fate depending completely upon y/uno and way ridiculous set pieces. Like a rocket jet made out of the skip, reverse and draw two cards. Oh yes and a tournament where our hero must face the creator/champion of UNO
We must decide the fate of the world by PLAYING A CHILDREN'S CARD GAME
Jason Smith And how they have to win in 2 minutes or the world is destroyed but it takes like 3 episodes
Adrian Boris Fornaciari You forgot to mention his heartfelt speech while doing that.
