They are even up until Kazu sends just a few more extra lines during zone/cancels Diao's zone attack a little better; then, the phase 3 garbage completely cheeses up Diao, bottlenecking his APM allowing Kazu to simply B2B to victory. One has to wonder whether the mechanic is balanced for the very top, or whether this is a result of the average player being unable to close out games otherwise.
Phase 3 is definitely tricky to play with, although both players are receiving messy garbage so I don't see a point of "unbalanced". You need to find a balance between infinitely downstacking and doing damage in order to survive, and kazu is just perfect at that (especially on guideline games where line clear delay is a thing). 12:00 onwards Diao has the advantage yet kazu still finds a way to hold off the attack and wins the round.
it's actually already quite clear that kazu is probably if not one of the best player when it comes to slow games like TE:C or PPT, when it comes to faster games with no line delay, diao or cz are at the top. even on tetrio, kazu is super strong and he's up there

Well this is the home ground for Kazu, while Diao seems to not have the game figured out completely yet, so he can't max out his sends
