I love this version of his theme. It shows how grand and strong Descole is in his schemes and attitude, but when it gets to the calmer part it almost sounds sad, which would make sense due to everything Descole had being taken away all thanks to one person. This theme also gives me a very strong sense of determination to fulfil too.
It really encapsulates everything he stands for. It does remind me of the line he says in Azran Legacy when he is confrionted by Layton when he wants to flee with the Bostonius: "The Azran Legacy is all I have to live for!", because yes, he has nothing else that is worth living for in his eyes

I won't stand this Don Paolo slander. IMO Don Paolo served a different but still relevant role. He's a lot more unhinged and crazy, and sometimes he can come off as a bit ridiculous, but I think after the first game where he tries to kill layton by having him run over by a ferris wheel, and then straight up destroy a whole ass tower in which Layton was, his craziness becomes a lot more threatening than funny. Especially since before Unwound Future we don't even know why this crazy guy wants to kill layton. Finally, having Don Paolo become an ally in Unwound Future was perfect, I loved him as this unhinged guy in the group who wants to blow shit up.

Je ne pense pas.. je pense juste que ses objectifs sont plus durs à réaliser (comme éliminer TARGET), il a quand même manipulé a chaque fois Layton du début jusqu'a la fin pour obtenir ce qu'il lui fallait, et ça c'est tout le temps joué à très peu pour Layton donc bon ^^
Slish H non enfait je le comparais à layton effectivement il est très inteligent et ces plans sont effectivement plus complet avec un risque d'une défaillance mais ce personnage est tres intéressant ! J'espère malgré tout quil revienne avec un .....nouvel épisode avec le VRAI professeur LAYTON .

I love theme songs. Theme songs are everything that is both said and unsaid about the character. It's their whole life, their very essence, as a song... Layton's theme is the same way. You can tell a lot about who a character truly is by their theme song: This song starts out ominous and harsh just like Descole himself, then becomes sad and tortured, indicating hidden pain within him. The music next grows in power showing those tragedies haven't defeated him but they have changed him, now he uses them to fuel his will to fight. Then there's that struggle you hear between a heroic swell and a villianous struggle; like an unseen battle between what is noble and hopeful in Desmond, and what is cruel and despairing in Descole. Finally the music becomes a bittersweet rise where all the chaos and order come together; the struggle is over, but the two opposing forces of Desmond and Descole are now forever a single entity. ... I just love it! I love what theme songs can tell you!
