The WRC is the FIA World Rally Championship, a tough motorsport using rally cars on real roads around the world. Watch the best rally drivers battle on gravel and asphalt roads with mud, rain, dust, ice and heat! Watch high speed action as the rally drivers power slide and drift round narrow corners, go flat out over a big jump or through a watersplash, handbrake turn round a hairpin, survive a big moment, or have a massive crash! Rally requires maximum attack and careful tactics to become world rally champion.
Each rally has timed sections called special stages, on closed roads. Drivers complete these stages as quickly as possible. A co-driver reads pace notes that explain the hazards ahead. Rally drivers use the same rally car to travel to each stage on public roads, following normal traffic regulations. The crew which completes all the stages in the shortest time is the rally winner. Championship points are won using the same scoring system as Formula 1. The championship is administered by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motorsport's world governing body.
Over 30 countries have hosted WRC rallies. Rally Monte Carlo, Rally Argentina, Rally Finland, Rally Portugal, Tour de Corse on Corsica, France, Rally Sardegna on Sardinia, Italy, Safari Rally in Kenya, Acropolis Rally in Greece, Rally New Zealand, Rally Australia, Rally Japan, Rally GB, Rally Catalunya, Rallye Deutschland, Rally Mexico and many more.
Some of the world's greatest drivers have won the FIA World Rally Championship for Drivers, like Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Walter Röhrl, Stig Blomqvist, Petter Solberg, Ott Tänak. The list of world rally champions includes many Finnish rally drivers like Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen, Ari Vatanen, Marcus Grönholm, Hannu Mikkola. French drivers have had success with Sébastien Ogier, and 9 times world champion Sébastien Loeb. Famous drivers from other motorsports have come to try rally driving like Ken Block from Rallycross, and Robert Kubica and Kimi Räikkönen from F1.
Car companies compete for the prestigious FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers awarded to the most successful WRC constructor. Winners include Citroen, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Peugeot. Ford have had success with the Ford Escort, Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta when the M-Sport team won in 2017.
The 1980's featured the iconic Group B rally cars like the Lancia 037 and Delta S4, Peugeot 205 T16, MG Metro 6R4, Ford RS200 and Audi Quattro.
Japan dominated the 1990s with the Mitsubishi Lancer, Subaru Impreza, and Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla. Toyota returned to the WRC in 2017 with the Toyota Yaris WRC, winning in 2018. Hyundai won in 2019 and 2020 with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. Find out about the latest winners and champions at www.wrc.com Спорт
Glad your both OK. Your not the only one caught out by these roads.
The calmness with which pro drivers are able to speak about a rollover is extraordinary. The degree to which the vehicles withstand the rollover - also extraordinary. Glad to see that the crew is safe and the car is working as intended! 🤘🤘🤘
What a shame for Molly & the team. Car stood the up well in the accident. Doubt it will fit on the jig after that roll...!
Terrible luck. She is a driver with a mountain of skill, cool head, approachable, can clearly communicate with her set up engineers and a real team player that deserves a seat in the main game.
Stay strong Molly. Look forward to the next one!
Very sad, she s talented driver am glad crew are ok 👍👍
Gutted for Molly. She has moved heaven and earth to be there.
No
Rally driving scares me. Guess that's why i sit on the couch. Glad everyone is uninjured.
She didn't remove hands from the wheel while turning. That could have been bad. Glad she's ok!
That's only for F1 types of wheels.
Rally wheels are round and won't literally break your thumbs unless you are handling them wrong way which she didn't.
There's lots more space to get the force out than in F1 car.
It's completely safe design and there was never a case in recent cars of driver's thumbs being broken while rolling over and holding to the wheel with hole hands.
Your wheel arch will snap earlier than it will put force on your wheel. Completely diferent design than F1 steering.
@@versedi F1 cars have power steering so the drives are at no risk of injuries when clinging on to the steering wheel. However what you said it true for other open-wheel racing sereis' such as F2, F3 and Indycar that don't have a power steering feature
With power steering you have no risk at injurie of hands. It is good to have something to hold too if you are in roiling car, since that way your arms wont be flying around. If you hold steering you will brake suspension or steering coelom. Glad that they are ok and good luck.
Just saw her at Rally Queensland in Gympie last month great driver lots of talent
Rough break a lot of dreams dashed today unfortunately. I was rooting for Ott and Takamoto goes to show anyone's game! Great races!
Very sorry Molly wish you much better 🙏
That's really a shame! Doesn't appear that she went wide. It seems as though she was going too fast and didn't note that it was not flat at the top of the crest but instead drops a little. This means the car went completely light at the top and literally floated to the outside of the road. If that car is FWD it wouldn't have the power or traction to push forward and correct itself. It's all part of the hellish pleasures of this brilliant sport, keep pushing!
Upload Jhonston crash!
You're breaking the car Samir!
Samir we won't finish the race
Listen to my calls, Samir...I beg of you!
Shut up don't tell me how to drive 🤣🤣🤣
It will buff out!
Unlucky
Quite unfortunate. Glad they came out fine.
That rally3 or rally4 car?
bummer.
You can hear, if you listen closely, Sebastian grunting after every bump of the car as it rolled down the side of the road.
Sad, but pleased you are both OK. Can't keep a good Aussie girl down, better luck next time!
Go Molly
Ahh really a shame, I was really looking forward to seeing her in action. Hopefully better luck next time!
Poor her, wish she can continue the race
Good thing they are ok, Rally3 but still safe 👍
Absolutely gutted.
My wife would have landed it and continued on to Dillards.
"А на кладбище так спокойненько,каждый в личном своём гараже,всё культурненько,всё пристойненько-все наездились вдоволь уже
There will never be another Mouton!
perhaps not but molly taylor could come very close
I was wonder in first her words of inerview how much she looks and sounds like Mouton.
@@gustavfoletta5004 Very close? For know she's driving with a rally3 car. And she crashed it. She's not even close to getting into WRC2 let alone WRC.
@@ErwinLiszkowicz rallying is a very difficult sport. when your driving at 150kph just one small move can send you off the track. so yes she may not progress into WRC but that doesnt make her a bad driver
@@gustavfoletta5004 I'm not saying she's bad. Just that she's not close to WRC level. Maybe some day she'll be but that day is far away.
Одна маленькая ошибка
She reminded me about another Australian rally driver (Emma Gilmour)..
Emma is NZ, not Aus
Thanks for correction
ワッタァファック!!
Are they WRC-2 or WRC-3?
Rally4 spec, so it's like JWRC
@@wanted2724 R3 spec actually, so JWRC car with AWD
@@jeracerx rally3 😉
Purpose Driven lol
Car goes light over the bump and the rear wheel gets caught in the ditch at the side of the road.
Show me a rally driver that hasn't had this exact same accident.
She simply set the curve as my grandmother set it .......
Not really surprised she stacked it
That's the right way up in the Down Under.
Give it to polish mechanics. They will made two brand new rally cars out of it and there will be a couple of spare parts as well 😁
You have one job, ONE JOB!!!
Sooooo...it was a normal day.
Uff, holding the wheel, while crashing.... not a good practice
It's usually okay in a rally car with such a wide turning angle and enclosed wheels. Steering wheel snapping will happen on mainly single seaters and prototypes. Rally cars take alot of punishment so the drivers are used to immediately gaining control after a mistake and continuing.
If I crash I’m on the wheel and the handbrake. Period
Come on Molly! You can do it better than that...
why is woman driving?
quelle femme pourra un jour faire mieux que Mme Mouton ?
mujer al volante, peligro constante jajaja, es broma
Just a woman can inform you smiling, that the car has been broken😂
Michele Mouton? HAHAHAHAHA!
He went too far to the right. You should have lowered a gear and pulled farther to the left at the entrance. The curve was not steep but it was uneven. To continue adding Molly experience !!!
The balls on that co driver to have a woman driver, I salute you sir
I hope they are paying him well lol
Ofc Its a woman
Oh so it's a woman!
And?
@@danglebals8432 think I found your mother 🥶
Because she is girl...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thierry only wrc driver😉😉😉😎😎
Now you know why there are so few female drivers in rally events !
She has more talent than a lot of male rally drivers!
Achieved more than most male rally drivers.
Because male drivers never crash? Idiot!
All replies above me are women copes, go outside and learn how to drive
@@TOOBS01 SIMP
No talent at all!! Just connecting people, some friends in the area, some sponsors and some money, and you too can be a rally driver
yea no talent at all... she just has won Australian Rally Championship 3 times and been a runner up twice and has 2 NSW Rally Championship,FIA ERC Ladies Rally Champion and 2 wins in extreme-e. she has more talent than couchpotato like you will ever have
In motorsport, you dont need talent when you have money
Nothing surprising here, driving slow and still had ah big crash, typical female driver...
Still faster than your 13 year old self
You realise she won general Australian rally championship clasification while also being the youngest person to do so?
Guarantee you the dude that commented this is 10.
Another couch pilot who speaks..
Are you telling us you don't like womas?
