Gyms that have “yoga” classes are exercise classes or stretching classes. If you go to a yoga studio, yes there will be the spiritual aspects of yoga involved in the class and throughout the studio. All classes, regardless, end in “namaste” which I don’t say but just thank the instructor instead. I think western yoga has evolved into a secular exercise experience unless you go to a studio. exactly. Romans 14 dealt with the issue of early-early Christians eating meat sacrificed to Rome's pagan deities. As we all know, the gods worshipped by the Hindu either never existed or are long since dead by the time yoga was being practiced. How do we know? because they were wiped out in the flood. Therefore, the Roman pagan gods were just reiterations of the same gods. So meat sacrificed to them was just a fools sacrifice and a poor man's supper. And even if we bring up the issue of stumbling blocks here, well....We'll gladly teach you how to step higher. And we do so prayerfully and without judgement. Just please, stop pretending that yoga as a physical exercise wouldn't have the legalists all triggered and up in arms right now if it were called by literally any other name. I dare you to put your hands on the ground and look under your car for your keys that you just dropped without touching your knees to the ground and pretend that you just did something bad.
