    😂 I became an expert due to all the rear flats that I have had.
    Before I even flip my bike upside down, I usually start with loosening the brake shoes.
    I now have Tannus tube protection shields 🛡
    Allow me to suggest these to everyone ebike or regular/manual.
    Tannus is the best thing EVER!! No more worrying about where you ride or any little thing that you may run over
    Either on paved street, sidewalk or dirt gravel and grounded earth.

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS  10 месяцев назад

      Man that sucks! Did you make sure to get all the air out of your tubes first ? I thought it would be a lot harder but after I got the air out and just a bit of the tire over the rim it was pretty easy to just slide the tire levers around and pop it off.

    • @stevemontana5974

      I just finished swapping out my tires to the same ones you have. The only issue I had was the front one was a bitc$ to get off. I had to use a huge flat head screwdriver for leverage. The rear one came off the rim easy though.@@MeedersPEVS

    I just had these installed today, I have to say the bike feels like it struggles a bit to get the power that it used to have. They feel a bit too heavy for me off the bat I can feel the motor working harder and first gear up to 16 mph more more of like a vibration in the bike, it goes away after I leave 1 gear but seems to make the bike work harder

  • @jslllppspp

    The brake caliper shouldn't need to come off but I'm doing this and it's a newer bike... about 600 miles

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS  2 месяца назад

      It’s possible to do it without taking off the caliper it just makes it a lot easier to shimmy the wheel off to get the chain off without having to worry about destroying your pads.

  • @mazscsu
    @mazscsu 11 месяцев назад

    Congrats! Great job. Saved for later. Did you lose top speed on these?

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS  11 месяцев назад

      I haven’t changed my wheel diameter in the settings yet or GPS tested it fully but it does seem to lose a bit of top speed maybe 1-2 mph not much definitely a bit slower off the line too. But, they feel so solid on the bike. It feels much more like riding a Dirtbike than just a bicycle. The extra weight feels nice in my opinion! I just did a few trails that were a bit wet from some rain and they held up great !

    How do you like the V Huntsman? Any balancing issues with the tires? How did it affect range of the X-Class? Thanks!

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS  22 дня назад

      I absolutely love my huntsman’s I had no issues balancing them or any sort of vibration or wobble on the road. The ride true and smooth. I did loose some range. I would say about 3-5 miles per charge. It’s kinda hard to tell since there are so many variables that go into it. But they are a heavier tire that does require more work to get going. But they can also coast really well so it all depends on how you ride your bike.

  • @mst3kpimp

    How are those tires holding up? I see on amazon several people had the sidewalls randomly fail.

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS  3 месяца назад

      My tires have been absolutely perfect for me ! No sorts of sidewall issues. It’s been holding tread great and still look nearly brand new after over 500 miles. I got one flat tire so far but it was from a huge nail and no tire at all would’ve stopped that.

  • @mst3kpimp
    @mst3kpimp 11 месяцев назад +1

    im wondering if you can use 3" tires in those rims.

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS  11 месяцев назад

      I’m not sure. It probably depends on the tire. The Shinko 441 are a common tire that people run on these bikes and they’re a motorcycle size. I think 16x3 and they fit on these rims. Not sure if a regular e-bike tire would though.

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS  10 месяцев назад +1

      Only one side of the front forks has a spring in it. The other side is just a “dead” shock. It’s just a cheaper way to make suspension. So it’s natural what you’re seeing nothing to worry about !

  • @lkeilitz1989

    Noticed that you did not air the tires until the bead popped like others I have watched. Are not supposed to? Does it damage the bead? I’ve seen others air up to 40-60 psi in order to get the popping sound. Then they deflate to spec or preference.

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS  5 месяцев назад +1

      It won’t necessarily damage the bead or the tire doing that. It’s definitely much more likely to blow up the inner tube though. I made sure to “massage” the tires around the rim the whole time I was inflating it. This causes the bead to get sat pretty evenly around the whole rim and helps make sure you don’t have any wobbles on the tire. If you just pop the bead on the tire by inflating it super hard then you risk pinching and blowing up your inner tube or not having the tire seat on nicely.

      Hmm nothing really too similar other than those HEB tires you mentioned. They would probably have similar grip to the huntsman’s but I’m sure they won’t be as thick or last quite as long. Using "real" tools instead of the bike's kit tools, makes the job WAY easier. The tool kit tool's wrenches are loose fitting and because the nuts are very tight, can strip the outside of the nut.

    • @MeedersPEVS
      @MeedersPEVS  10 месяцев назад

      I agree with you 100%. I tried to use all the tools that came with the bike since anyone who has an X-Class should have those tools. The rear axle nut was the only one that gave me a bit of trouble.

    • @MeedersPEVS

      20x4 is the correct size. 3.5 would probably work too but the bike is designed for a 20x4 tire. What tires did you put on ? Sounds like you had your inner tube bunched up or pushed off to the side which may have caused your issue. I’ve never had anyone complain about 20x4 not working
