I use RUclips videos of people that have filmed their calls and I blast it out loud on my bluetooth speaker at my firepit to get them to come in! Got one blurry pic in a full year! Edit: should mention I'm almost at the tip of southern Ontario, Canada 👍

Or look up other videos of Screech Owls trilling and there are a few videos where it is much louder and easier to see and hear.

Yes it's a wonderful sound but what blows my mind is how many times I've heard it over the years coming from the woods and never realized it was an owl
@@gardensofthegods same like now that i think about it, i go in the woods all the time during fall and winter and always thought this was some sort of crow or other corvid. i never knew it was specifically an owl. i only just now heard a great horned owl outside my house for the first time. for reference, it is 2:30 in the morning and it sounds literally terrifying to someone who has never heard an owl actually make a noise in real life

I often hear the trill of the screech owls in late August and September . Their call sounds like the whinny of a horse and it decreases in pitch . They were wrongly named since their voice bears no resemblance to any type of screech . It's a fact that many types of owls do not hoot .
It doesn't "screech" in this video, there is a very soft trill. It makes the sound louder towards the end of the video. I encourage you to listen to it more than once, and you'll definitely hear it!
At around 1:41 you can hear it more. I went back to the beginning of the video after hearing it, and found that I had been missing the sound the whole time!
