Easily Crosslist From Poshmark To Mercari

- After years of reselling my thrifted finds and items from my closet on Poshmark, I took the leap and started cross-listing on Mercari a few months ago. In just a couple months I have made more than 35 sales. This video explains some of the major differences between Poshmark and Mercari. I also explain how I cross-list between the two apps without a 3rd party service in a matter of minutes.
I am an avid thrifter that is passionate about second-hand clothing due to environmental health and worker safety. I also make videos on how to thrift-flip and upcycle your clothes or clothes you find at the thrift store that you can wear, or sell online to make money and pay off debt.

I used to just occasionally cross list. I got List Perfectly and cross list almost everything to Mercari and Tradesy. I also usually ship on my own with Pirateship, sometimes I use their label.
How much does it cost to do Pirateship? Can you do shoes with a pirateship label?

So glad I found your channel. I’m new to Mercari and still figuring out things. I’ve noticed lot of buyers message me frustrated about shipping costs when items like coats or shoes ship for $10. How do you recommend dealing with that? I feel like if I increase my price to include to $10 shipping, the item will be overpriced and if I charge the buyer for shipping, they will complain that it too high.
That can be difficult because there are people on Mercari that try and trick the system by putting in a lesser weight for the things they are selling. (This means shipping is less than it should be, and that is fraud and can get them into a lot of trouble. Mercari is also cracking down on this and started taking that money out of the seller's earnings). In my opinion, those are the buyers I want to avoid because in my mind they're already being unreasonable about shipping costs. I have started to *not* offer free shipping on shoes and heavier items and found people are still buying I really think you've got to just make sure you're only selling heavy things on Mercari that are worth the shipping cost. I say just stand your ground with prices that are fair but give you enough money and wait for the right buyers if you can. They are out there!

I tried offering free shipping for like a week on Mercari but I feel like no matter how low your price somebody going to put in an offer for a lower price. Than because I'm paying the sellers fee, processing fee and shipping fee I have no wiggle room to lower the price and make a profit but what I find is that when I'm not offering free shipping I can drop the offer another $10. But I see people that are offering free shipping and their selling thousand of items. For example me and that person could be selling the same sneakers but he's selling his $25 and free shipping and I'm selling mine for $50 and the buyer pays shipping. When I do a quick Google search to check the price I know how much the sneakers are selling for so I'm thinking how is this person making money if he paying shipping, process fee, selling fee, and taxes. They can't be making no more than $10 on some items.
Honestly I don’t pay attention to comps on mercari. I will look for comps on Poshmark and go from there. You do need to price higher to allow for promoting items. In that case I find relisting often is more helpful.
I started selling sneakers on mercari in March of last year and I sold around 100 pair of sneakers which is nothing on mercari. I probably could have sold more but I'm a little high and I don't offer free shipping but recently I decide to try and sell stuff on Poshmark and I feel like Poshmark charges too much and you have to do alot of the work yourself. You gotta go to parties, share your items on social media and all this extra stuff which I don't understand. I find myself thinking why am I paying you 20% in fees if I'm doing so much foot work? After being on mercari and not having to do all that just to make a sale I'm just not movitated to work do hard. Do you have any pointers or easier ways of making money on Poshmark or is it something that I'm missing about Poshmark thts making it difficult for me to be successful?
I don’t share as much as others do on Poshmark. I think using the right keywords and selling in demand items is much more helpful than sharing to parties. I absolutely do not share other people’s listings, and still manage to make sales. I’m also only doing this part time, so I can afford to wait for the right buyers to search for my items.
Just found your channel, great info. I haven’t cross posted on other platforms for the same item in fear that I might sell both at the same time or scammers intentionally try to buy from both site knowing there is only 1 item available. How do you prevent double selling an item?
In the last year and a half there was only one time the same thing sold twice within about 20 minutes. Mercari will ding your account for cancelled sales, but Poshmark doesn’t so in that case I went ahead and cancelled the Poshmark sale. You definitely have to stay up on cross deleting when something sells, but it really hasn’t created any major issues for me. I haven’t experienced the same person trying to buy both.
