I am one of the many macro photographers that prefers to shoot subjects that are alert and animated rather than frozen and sluggish. They look better that way.
Hi Adrian. Great video. I just bought a $40 light box from ebay! I only wish I watched this video before... LOL. Will you be able to give me the measurements and the materials used in your video? I like to try making one myself. Thanks.
Thank you Adrian. I will be helping a friend by photographing his his coins to sell on Ebay. I have a digital Canon EOS Rebel XTi with a Canon EFS 18-55 mm macro that focuses down to 0.9 ft. I also have two Quantaray MS-1 off camera flash units. Can you suggest how I can modify your light tent so I can shoot straight on? Any info will be greatly appreciated.
***** Very nicely done ! I'm gonna give it a go of sorts. The vehicle you have your SLR mounted on, what exactly is that ? I've never seen one before but it looks like a great piece of kit ! Damn modern day photography eh, bloody amazing lol.
thank you so much I also made this box it's really amazing . I have Nikon D90 camera . can you suggest lens for my camera now I have VR lens but it's no give good results in product photography .
Hello, this is a superb tutorial! Thank you! I have a question about the used material for collapsible white studio. I will be happy if you share this info with us. Thank you in advanced and don't stop to make people happy with you tutorials! :)
***** Did you start with sheet in half? Also how far in did you make the fold over tabs? Also the small tab that would be the front top of box size? Rest is simple division.
Thank you for your fast reply, I have a Photo Soft box Photography Light Tent Cube but your decision I like much better! :) Thank you you are awesome!!! (Y)
mmmm I've seen other tutorials which recommend not to use flash..and they use 2 or 3 lamps...I see you used flash and you didn't use lamps xD As I want to do my own white small studio I think I'll try with this tutorial...it's cheaper cuz I don't need to buy 3 lamps. =)
This is one of the best how to videos I've ever seen on RUclips. Well done!
Wow, best home-made studio light box Ive seen that fits the bill!! Was quite funny watching you try to get that little critter to stay put. Great job!
Preslav -- the material is plastic and called 'Coroplast' or 'Tenplast'. It is often used to make temporary signs.
Excellent idea and video - certainly one of the best!
Great video! I just bought all the material and plan on trying it out tonight. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video and brilliant idea. Thanks a bunch.
You have talent in engineering
Excellent idea, thanks! And I'm glad to see that you are humane with your process. :)

Flash freezes the movement of the bug. A single light source works because the light is reflected off the inside of all the white surfaces.
Haha, poor bug! What's its name?
Cool tutorial, thanks! Does the direction of the lines in the Coroplast have any importance?
Thank you Adrian.

google "corrugated plastic"
"Very" helpful.
Thanks for posting..
Excellent!
i like your idea...
PERFECT
Really entertaining vid ~
put the bug in the fridge
would you be willing to sale a box already made?
hi! this is really nice! will this also work on a still led light place on the corners or top?
+dudz ciruela LED light could work as well, but remember this box works best with reflective diffusion, so the light is inside.
+Adrian Thysse l have made the box l want to show it to you but the lines of the corrugated plastic shows on the photos
thx for this! Good work
awesome!!!
What size sheet and dimension where used to lay out the box? Some crucial information that could be very useful! Anyone?
I did not include dimensions because that will depend on your subject size. This one is small, only 12" (30cm) high and 10" (35cm) wide and deep.
***** Home Depot has 30" x 48" sheets as largest. What was the dimensions you used to construct this?
That sounds about right.

that BUG is funnnnyyyy
Give beetle for 5 minutes in the refrigerator, not running away, sleeping :) nice tutorial ;)
No, on a box this small it line direction makes no difference. The beetle is an adult 'superworm', Zophobas morio.
excellent :)
a Nikon SB-R200 flash
Why not make really heavy lead beetle shoes! You will need six!
This is really nice but I got lost right about here 0:44 LOl

I rather shoot moving bugs then dead ones. Spiders don't move much tho.
A single Nikon SB-R200
put the bug in the freezer to slow it sown
