Charcoal bread is just a bit of activated charcoal put in the dough. It was a bigger thing back when so many during the lockdowns were doing lots of sourdough baking at home because yeast was scarce. Activated charcoal was just an added ingredient to help in digestion, but not enough was added to make enough of a difference. It's more a visual thing & you don't taste it. I guess making some Russian Rye was too much trouble & they thought Charcoal was a more unusual offering. Anyway, it won't hurt you (unless eating activated charcoal in a larger quantity that would deter your body from absorbing certain vitamins or medications) & you wouldn't taste it. It was just a sourdough bread. Thanks for showing all the offerings.
