Good morning Andy. Any suggestions of where I might find a new light lead rubber grommet, mine was pretty crunchy. Similar ID/OD grommet doesn't have wide enough grove. Thought about using rubberized coating & simply paint several coats on. Thx
I've never been able to find one. I buy the widest I can find at the hardware store, cut in in half between the flanges and then glue the halves, from top and bottom to the body using E6000 Craft Adhesive: www.walmart.com/ip/Eclectic-E-6000-Adhesive-E6000-Precision-Tip-Adhesive-1-oz/52678045 I tried it first on a parts machine and let it dry for a week and then was able to peel off the grommet pieces OK. Personally, I would not even consider doing that. You can find used replacement parts on eBay and other online sellers.
