Karajan brings out always profound sound from orchestra, and mendelsohnn is wonderful composer who knows how to pull at heart strings!

Karajan u. Mendelssohn`s "Italienische" sind
in dieser remasterten Version nahezu unschlagbar !
Nach so vielen Jahrzehnten brillieren Karajans Aufnahmen
im neuen Jahrtausend immer noch vortrefflich!
Herbert Blomstedt und seine San Francisco Symph.sind meine zweite
Referenzempfehlung !!

Mendelssohn composed this and also painted very fine landscape paintings.
Quite the polymath.

As if composing this symphony and other great works wasn't enough, he painted landscape paintings to the standard of many fine painters.
What an amazing brain Mendelssohn had to be creating music of sheer genius and also to express his creative ability in such a different outlet that is painting.
