This character is so fun. I really enjoy that you do a lot of art on your art channel. A lot of other art channels do studio vlogs, reviews (they swatch it once and then never give you an update lol?), packing orders - all of these things are fine and I also enjoy, but they don't do enough art, which is what I am here for most of the time. I really like how your focus is the art itself, not everything around art.

Thank you, cris_ad! I'm thrilled that you like the character, and I appreciate your feedback on the content focus. I love creating art, and it's wonderful to hear that you enjoy the emphasis on the artistic process on my channel. 😊 I need to get back to making more vlogs though haha.

I think she would look so pretty in a dark blue or white blouse and some thin silver or gold jewlery, im almost tempted to draw fanart of her 😫💗

I recommend tombow mono erasers for the dust. They’re not expensive but they work well and clump up the dust.

The name "Layla " suits her!
Almost like saying "lilac " which is a similar color to her hair! 🙂
The yellow dress was turning into a mustard color but yeah, the colored pencils helped it to be yellow again...

Hi Neema! Love your work! I look forward to seeing all your original characters and your personal way of using alcohol markers! Just wanted to tell you that Faber-Castell makes a great eraser, which they have simply dubbed "no-dust eraser". I find that when I'm sticking to wearing basic pencil lines, it's great!! However, when erasing full pencil, charcoal or colored pencils, there can be a lil bit of dust, but I don't think it can be fully avoided unless you find a good kneaded eraser. Maybe one this isn't so soft. Again, I find that faber castell is better than some other brands, but the gray one is best. The colors tend to get too soft and hard to use! I hope that you find a good one, and if you do, please share which in your next video!! I hope this helps in some way... Keep making these great videos!!!

@@LucidNeema well, your videos mean a lot! I personally love art markers, which I learned at Ringing (RCAD), 20 years ago. Markers have come a long way since then, including making the brush tip more of a standard!!
I'm disabled and am not able to render as much I would like anymore due to high pain, so watching your videos helps fill that space for me!
You absolutely have my support! I want to add, it's really neat to see the way your individual drawings each progess, but it's been truly joyful to watch the evolution of your at in general, over time. I love how you always just go with it! You are a really wonderful and wholesome role model - I show my teen neice your work all the time! Looking forward to the next!

Great artwork! A sharpie fine point pen shows up well on color pencils, however the smudging is worse. Recently, I’ve started forgoing inking with any of my color pencil work because even after letting the ink dry I still noticed smudging, and I didn’t like how it interacted worth eachother. I just use a darker colored pencil for the outline.

Thanks, angelsowell8456! It's awesome that you found a solution that works for you with using a darker colored pencil for the outline. Smudging can be tricky, and it's great that you adapted your technique.

Ok, in my opinion, Lila's clothes looked gold when it was still a muddy yellow. It was so pretty in my opinion, and I hope that someday I know how to color with my ohuhu markers. I barely know how to blend them. I wish you could make a tutorial, but I just found out about your channel so idk if you have made on before.

For the markings between her eyes/on her brow ridge could be more like a Chinese lotus symbol, but designed more to look like a lilac?
Since she is in the purple-pinkish range and her name, Lila, sounds like Lilac too

I love her name and I think the yellow outfit looks great! Dark yellow is my favorite color so I am biased, but it's also the complement to purple so I think it works really well considering color theory 😊 I also like how it's a warm yellow & her skin was a warm purple, but her hair was cooler so it's really interesting overall! The pink was cute in the way it matched her blush, though 💜

Thank you for sharing another video! I do like that shade of purple for the skin, though I might make the hair a touch lighter or darker so it contrasts more, if that make sense? I liked the lighter skin tone before because it gave more contrast, but I liked the vibrancy of this one overall. Obviously your character your choice, and you don't need our advise. :p
That said, advice you did ask for: if you're looking for a good eraser with little to no eraser dust, I'm a huge fan of the General's Factis Extra Soft (comes in an orange wrapper). I find it erases graphite very cleanly, is very comfortable to hold, and instead of giving off eraser dust it combines it all together in one long string. It's my favourite, so I ended up picking up a wholesale box they'd use to sell them individually in store, and that will probably last me for the next ten years. XD The downside is that it doesn't do much against Col-Erase, oddly, and it can occasionally crack if bent too much, but other than that it's a life saver.
Great artwork as always, particularly on the eyes on this one. :) I'd love to see you tackle a screencap redraw sometime! Have a great day and stay safe!
