with water marks people usually use light grey stamps. or they lower opacity. however vector programs can trace without certain colors. so u choose to trace without light grey as an option and it won't copy that color anywhere on the artwork and they end up with good trace. make sure the watermark uses same colors as in the artwork. like exact black for outlines. don't use white either for same reason. Choose the main colors used in rendered art.
Thats so disappointing. When you work so hard & someone more popular or famous steals it, its just so exhausting! BUT your art is so pretty!! & This just means that you can move on and be more observant and alert! Have a grear day :))

It's always sad to learn that an artist's artwork has been stolen. I remember i saw some stuff on aliexpress. How disrespectful. I really love your style and this piece is so beautiful. She kinda reminds me a webtoon heroine. Oh! If you create a coloring book, i will gladly purchase it!
And this exactly this is why I seldomly put up art on any form of media unless the people are trusted. Watermarks don't protect works anymore digital art tech has gotten so advanced people can just remove it which is gross.
I hate art theft and AI that is not ethical. As a fellow artist people who steal works should be taken to court, but boy is that process complex. Hope it works out sharing work publicly had its risks, but that risk keeps on growing unfortunately:/

Omg yes please release a coloring book 😍 I prefer when the lineart in the coloring books are thin and a bit light, because some don't like the black lineart to show through and would prefer to redraw the lines with colored pencils and such, also ifff possible please consider making a watercolor coloring book version, I'm really struggling to find some 😩

Honestly i have seen artist get asked by ppl in gmail to have a commissioned art piece and they will say oh “can you make me one show me a piece of ur work” if u send them ur art they stop talking to u and they use it for Ai art

hey I am just a fan of this art...I wonder if something like pdf format can allow you to upload digital copy that locks it from manipulated easily I know books the libraries that canafford it have DRM software so I can listen to the audiobook but it isn't owned by me
I don't mean to imply that artists should be burden by having to learn pdf or digital rights management. just a thought bc format might allow artist to share with some safeguards since watermark is not deterrent. sites can be researched but ma y might have us po box or address out

🤬🤬🤬I hate hate HATE those websites that steals people's art and designs. It's absolutely sickening how companies think they could get away with doing this.
I would start copywriting or trademarking the designs and art I make, just to have a paper trail of my art in the legal system. It's tedious, but at least you could send a big fat CEASE AND DESIST to their foreheads the next time they wanna try that ish!💯

They probably hired someone else who stole your artwork. This happens a lot (my family was in the art field). Try to remember to add watermark, I also sometimes forget.
Just because you're trusting doesn't mean they had the right to take it. Even the most high rez image on the net is still not an invitation to steal.
You're absolutely right, it doesn't excuse the unauthorized use of someone's creative work.
You might find a copyright lawyer who would help you draft a letter. And whether or not you have a case. As a photographer, I had a guilde to consult and the infraction for stealing photographs is up to $10,000 per image per incident. You might not be a poor student anymore.

So sorry this happened to you! I have had my work reposted as well, among other things. You can actually try filing DMCA takedown notices against these sites and that should help rather than sending constant emails that are likely to be ignored or blocked. Sadly they are like weeds that pop up again later.

the same thing happened to me , myself and some friends drew comic books , and we did a big anthology book - 64 pages . we sent it to he printers to get a proof copy and they kept stalling saying it would be here soon etc. etc. Anyway a friend of mine from Canada ( I'm in Texas ) e mais me and says " hay , I bought your book on line today , why didn't you tell me it was out ? " Found out they were selling our book on several websites without our knowledge or paying us ! Worst of all this is a big company in Florida and they're still in business ... I wonder who else they're ripping off .
That's awful! 😞 Dealing with unauthorized selling and not getting paid is incredibly frustrating. Hope things get better for us artist in the future.

I sometimes forget to watermark my art too 😅 it’s sad how disrespectful people are to artists lol. I get a lot of people trying to pull those commission scams on me even though my commissions are closed 😭

That's too funny! 😄 Great minds think alike, right? It's awesome that we're both using the same paper.
Unfortunately, watermarks don’t deter thieves and some take it as a challenge to steal and remove the watermark. It makes no sense. Why go to all that work to steal someone else’s work, it’d be easier let alone morally better to just create their own work. Watermark do, however, often get suppressed on social media due to the watermark… which is ignorantly wrong.
AI datasets have made this BS exponentially worse for all of us who’ve been stolen from. I’ve had photos, artwork, coloring pages, and poetry stolen.
I’ve published 14 coloring books thus far. If you go this route please be forewarned that as soon as it’s published some shady sights will claim to have it for sale, though they should not have access to the interior of the books, they’ll steal the cover picture from the listing.

Just keep it in mind and take precautions of course, but don’t let it deter you from accomplishing that dream, if you have one, of publishing. There’s nothing like opening that box and pulling out your very own book to put on the shelf.

It’s actually automatically copywrited which is why you can do legal action the issue is a lot of people don’t have money to sue or the amount of money it would make to sue verse the money the person was making from your art would leave you at a lost some people are just awful

I'm sorry for you! happened to me too, my work has been stolen for merch on some shady sites, ali, rb, n\f\t, etc and then also all of this A\I shit happened. I stopped posting anything for a year and a half and I'm still frustrated. I'm bad at design and have no idea how to make a nice clean watermark, so my work still can look nice with it😔 and yeah, it's not 100% solution, which doesn't help
