    Welcome to Sandpoint
Crossing the Long Bridge provides incredible views of Lake Pend Oreille, Sandpoint, Schweitzer and the Selkirk Mountain range.
For many of us, as we cross the bridge into Sandpoint, it feels as if we are being welcomed home. We truly hope that you have that feeling too as you visit our community. If we are lucky you will consider making Sandpoint the new home for your family or business.
We have a full website dedicated to making your stay exceptional.
The visitor center in town is also a great place to find information about the area and recreation opportunities.
Downtown street parking is generally available. If you plan to stay all day the downtown parking lot is recommended for cars and trucks and the City Beach lot for recreational vehicles or autos with trailers.
Did you know you can visit Sandpoint from your boat? We have free day use boat parking right in Downtown, at both the Windbag Marina and the City Beach Marina. Overnight Visitor Moorage is also available. Contact Parks and Rec at 208-263-3613.
If you are staying in town you should check out our free bus system "SPOT". With our mobile app you can tell where the bus is and if it is headed toward your destination.
Sandpoint has an amazing park system and recreation opportunities are everywhere. Check out this map showing bicycling routes and many of the local recreation opportunities.
    Welcome to Sandpoint, Idaho
Nestled between three mountain ranges on magnificent Lake Pend Oreille, with a wide variety of outdoor recreation plus arts and cultural events happening weekly, Sandpoint is amazing. Come, visit us!

Looking for things to do in Sandpoint? Here are some of our recommendations to make the most of your time here in the “most beautiful small town” in America.
Take a hike (or a mountain bike) on one of Sandpoint’s numerous trails. The Gold Hill Trail is one of the most popular for local hikers and mountain bikers, a 3.7-mile track that can be moderate or strenuous. More hikes around the area include the Pend d’Oreille Bay Trail, a relaxed, fairly flat lakeside trail that’s 3 miles up and back and accessed just north of Sandpoint City Beach; and don’t miss the Mickinnick Trail if you’re looking for a steep challenge and rewarding views.
Mountain bikers can find their fill of great adventures. Sherwood Forest is just west of Sandpoint, featuring an extensive trail system on 143 acres of donated conservation easement land. Plus, up at Schweitzer Mountain Resort, trails including the new XC and Downhill trails from the fire station offer high-mountain thrills!
Road bike loops that have gained traction include Baldy Mountain Road (just over 3 miles round-trip) and the 30-plus miles of easy, scenic riding through the Selle Valley via Colburn-Culver.
Head out on Lake Pend Oreille for an afternoon of paddling, sailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding-you name it, everything’s within reach via rental shops along the Sand Creek Boardwalk, or area marinas. For all things Lake Pend Oreille, visit the online Lake Guide.
Schweitzer Mountain Resort is a perfect summertime getaway with lodging, restaurants, chairlift rides, hiking, family activities in the village and more! Three summertime festivals round out the resort’s bustling summertime scene.
Festivals, art shows and concerts abound during Sandpoint’s summer months-and there’s something for everyone! The Festival at Sandpoint is summer’s favorite event with two weeks of fabulous concerts under the stars at Memorial Field. Plus, in town there’s always a sidewalk concert or local art gallery showing to discover.
Who’s thinking suds? Luckily, the craft beer craze is alive and well in Sandpoint. A relaxed environment and fresh batches of beer on tap can be fetched at Laughing Dog Brewing, 805 Schweitzer Plaza Dr. in Ponderay. And in downtown Sandpoint, MickDuff’s Beer Hall, 220 Cedar St., offers beer tastings daily featuring all-natural ingredients in a fun and games environment.
Dabble in the finer side with a wine tasting at the Pend d’Oreille Winery in the heart of downtown Sandpoint. With its vibrant atmosphere located in a beautifully restored building, the winery is a must-sip stop during your visit.

Hi Joe. It’s definitely a beautiful part of the Country. A lot of folks from California and Oregon are moving that way so not as much of a secret as it used to be. Hope all is well.

😂. Congratulations. They definitely have some around but not quite like Alaska or Montana. If you go hiking just be prepared but chances of running into one are pretty slim.

Hi Shannon. Great to hear from you. We have taken the trailer to both Curtis trailers we’re we bought it as well as Camping World in Wilsonville. Curtis is the absolute worst when it comes to service. At least it was for us. Camping World on the other hand was awesome. We just got the trailer back and are now camping this week on the Oregon Coast. Pouring rain and no leaks. Thank goodness. If you go to Camping World ask for Michael. That guy was top notch. Let us know how the repairs go. Not fun but part of the deal.

No leaks! Waaaho! Glad to hear you two are fixed up. I will give them a call.. the wilsonville location couldn't be better for us. Canceling our turkey day trip is heartbreaking, but like you said - all part of the deal. 😖

Thank you Peter. We pride ourselves on not doing paid or sponsored videos. We see too much of that on RUclips and feel it’s ruining the platform. We do appreciate your offer though.
