  • Watch me build a Coffin for Dracula. This is a halloween prop but it is certainly strong enough to carry a person if necessary. There are no plans, i made a small model from card board as a guide, this build was mostly free styled. The trim is from Home Depot. This is an Alternate edit to the same video published on the Make channel, there is a few slight differences in the camera angles chosen. Thank you to www.longevity-inc.com. oBri550o probably a piece of wood or steel etc., on a pivot point. Maybe a 3 inch screw, they have .75" of flat shank at the head.

    Masterpiece! Perfect. Best of RUclips.
If I can find the time, I want to build one as a prank, out of marine grade plywood, wrapped in fiberglass, expanding waterproof glue, with paddles or 40hp motor. Scare some people on a pond, then start and take off, in full coutume.

    Both macabre and fascinating.
Lots of your videos, since you don't talk, has these "a-ha" moments when I figure out what it is you're doing. This time for me, it was about half way through the making of the metal handles. I couldn't figure out WHY you were going off on making these diamond shaped things. Then, the lightbulb went off.
Great job, Jimmy. Love how you ran off at the end.

That's awesome! I love the look of the old style casket, even when just a plain "pine box". You know what it is by its shape. Modern caskets look like glorified shoe boxes, and are mostly made of steel with 10 locks and water tight gaskets. You're dead, its not if you're going to go any where or drown. You're only job is to rot. If I had/could pick my casket I like this one, classic and a little Gothic. Made of solid wood, black walnut or red oak, with a navy blue liner. Again great job.

I think that this is one of your greatest works, thanks. It made me appreciate the effort involved in making a box to fit the human shape and you even made the hardware! I suspect the manufacturers have an easier time using templates and fewer metal fasteners. I did notice how you avoided using the jigsaw in favour of the multi-tool and hand saw.
I thought it was a very instructive and well-made video with great use of time-lapse. I think you are now in need of a vacation.now.
