The thing I hate the most is people who think because they're in cosplay they can touch other cosplayers without consent. This is especially annoying when they have prop weapons and hit you with them *grrrr!!!*
@@ChelleBelleCosplay oh for sure that can happen (especially if you're in a relatively rare cosplay and see another cosplayer of the same franchise) I once had someone touch without permission where they shouldn't... Amy Rose told him off that day lol
I feel kind of bad for doing this once - there was this gorgeous cosplayer doing an Old Joseph crossplay, and I kept calling her Joseph to try to get her attention (because I wanted a picture), but I ended up tapping her shoulder when she didn't respond (which, of course, I don't blame her since her name is probably not actually Joseph). She didn't seem bothered, I just...always feel bad if I had to do that to get peoples' attention! >
The second one is such a call out for baby cosplayer me- I never brushed my wigs. MY MIKAN AND SAYORI WIG WERE SO TANGLED AND I THOUGHT I LOOKED SO GOOD-
I think the Mikan one was probs okay tangled, but then again my only wigs are a Monokuma one that I hate and a Korekiyo one that I cut and dont know how to feel about it
although I do put white under my eyes, I don't like it when peoplego overboard. like I put around a millimeter or two of white under my eyes but I've seen people literally go all the way down to their cheeks, like what? don't get me wrong, some of those cosplays still look amazing but it kind of ruins the look for me.
I just found your channel, love your vids! I have one where it's like, I usually cosplay with friends (matching/group/etc) and it makes me so uncomfortable/sad when someone asks me for a photo, and when I offer my friend into the photo too because we're a pair or matching or w/e, the person says no right in front of my friend(s)😭... I guess I get it... but also... yeah;;;; that's all :')
I don't quite understand why anyone would be mad about your opinion on cosplaying minors in adult scenarios. In my head that's truly no different from lolis and p3do art, which are both disgusting!! I don't care if they aged up the character, they're still canonically a minor. I also don't care if they're a 10,000 year old dragon demon that just so happens to look like a minor, that's gross! They're thinking of minors in "suggestive" ways, which is never ok. I'm not saying that all of them are 100% for sure p3dos, but engaging with and defending that sort of behavior is never a good look imo. I'm with Chelle on this one.
for the thing abt white eyeliner, ik this is an old vid, but the style i think is based on gyaru makeup! gyaru and cosplay are both japanese so the fashion probably merged between them. also, some people do over exaggerated makeup to give of a creepy vibe on purpose, which isn’t for everyone but i respect all styles of cosplay!! no hate meant btw, great video
I feel like the last one is very present in a lot of different art form communities and I really don't get it because those type of "complements" make me so uncomfortable because I want to say thank you, but I don't want to put them down tokbdnks
I actually agree will all your points! Especially number 4 and 5. For the last point, I always compliment others and give them specific things I enjoy with their cosplay. Usually the cosplayer will thank me and compliment me back. Putting yourself down brings down everyone's mood, because we're all fellow nerds that want to have a good time and enjoy ourselves. Other people will enjoy your cosplay regardless of quality if it's their favorite character, from a property that isn't popular or they don't see often in cons, or just because you're that nice person that said their cosplay was cool.
This is such a good tip! I also enjoy complimenting something specific, like an accesory or a makeup technique. I've found it's a great conversation starter too!
The thing that really, really bothers me, is that nowdays contacts are becoming considered necessary. Like, wanting to wear contacts? Cool :) more power to you. Hating on someone who can't (yep there are physical problems that make it impossible) or wont (also a totally valid reason)? Nope, get out.
THIS. Contacts are cool, but photoshop is literally free? And you don't even have to photoshop your eye color if you don't want to, I literally don't care if the cosplay eye color is accurate.
Late to this, but another example: I want the color contacts, but I don’t cosplay often enough for it to be worth it. I already wear regular contacts with the cosplay cause the headpiece and face paint prevent me from wearing my glasses. Literally my first convention in cosplay and I got asked why I wasn’t wearing colored contacts. Like, why was that an expectation? They didn’t press further than that thankfully but still it was weird that they even asked.
The thing I hate most about cosplay is, okay, I love over-accessorized cosplays, I think they look really good. But I absolutely hate it when people have so many accessories, so many makeup designs, so many bracelets, so many accessories, that you can’t tell what character they’re cosplaying.
for 1, i do add white more than a couple millimetres under my eye; but only for seiko kimura from dr3, who is meant to look unsettling (also I'm surprised "depicting minors in adult situations is gross" is unpopular)
I agree with everything said in this video, I’ve never been to a convention because I’m underaged and broke but I agree with the whole stoping in your tracts to talk to others. especially the complimenting someone else while putting yourself down statement. I’ve always been self deprecating against my cosplays but I’ve never said anything like, “your cosplay is so much better than mine” because people have said that to me in the past and it’s super awkward for me so I couldn’t imagine putting someone in that scenario aswell. P.s i always love the videos! 😊✨
I mainly agree with everything in this video! For me tho putting white under your eyes CAN look good but not always. I used to put white under my eyes untill I realized it just wasn't a good look on me. Also with putting white under your eyes you really need to make sure that you aren't Asian fishing
this is really of topic (sorry lol) but your intro gives me so much serotonin! :> [Also, I agree with all/most of your opinions in this video! Especially 4…]
Thank you for another great video! I personally agree with all of these and with the eyeliner thing I've seen people from Japan who have stated that they aren't comfortable with it.

maybe the people just standing in conventions are trying to imitate Danganronpa characters in the halls waiting for the protag to talk to them- /j but yeah, i agree, it's annoying in general as well as well as conventions
Its so stupid the 4th one is even controversial, I know me and many other minors in the cosplay community have expressed discomfort in being lewd in minor cosplays
I know, I've spoken to so many young cosplayers about it! I really depise the adult cosplayers who don't listen or don't care and make inappropriate content like that. As adult cosplayers, I believe we have a responsibility to make cosplay safe and welcoming.
RUclips ISNT GIVING ME NOTIFICATIONS AAAAAA! But anyways, I'm not sure if this really is applicable to the topic at hand, but just please support any cosplayer in your life! This actually works for any hobby. They are going to need some people who have their back, so be that human! Unless they are doing something that makes you uncomfortable or is being toxic in any way, support however you shall please and make sure they know that you are going to be able to help.
Or when people unexpectedly touch your props and costumes without asking you first. 1. They could break it, or 2. You'd easily make the cosplayer uncomfy
I once experienced going to a convention as Arwen from Lord of the Rings. I kindly asked someone dressed as a Jedi to go on a photo together and the guy agreed. But then suddenly out of the blue, as the friend I was with took the picture , the other cosplayer started shoving me, even elbowing me while saying he hated the character I was cosplaying and then swung his prop light saber at me 😑😮 And another thing that annoys me: I'm always friendly when asking to go on a photo together with another fellow cosplayer, and I often get in situations where they say yes, I get my phone ready to take it and just before I do they suddenly leave!! 😐 They would just leave, no explanation why whatsoever thus leaving me with the thought of: ' Did I say something to offend them? ' 😑
EVERYTHING YOU SAID WAS FACTS. EVERY SINGLE THING ESP THE COSPLAYING MINORS BUT PUTTING THEM IN MATURE SITUATIONS ETC couldn’t have said it better myself
Okay okay hear me out- over accessorizing to the point where the character your cosplaying as, just doesn't look like that character? Im not against accessories in general, but when you can't even tell who their supposed to be.
I can understand that! I think it can be fun to see how people add different accessories to cosplay, but it can definitely make it harder to figure out the character sometimes!
ive seen a lot of times where popeele say "i cant see who it iiiiiisssss"i can always see it... and i may understand it wrong, but it feels like ur saying that theres a wrong and right way to cosplay.... and like there isnt? if they wanna "over"-exacoirise they can
I don't think there's a right or wrong way. People have different preferences though! As long as people are polite about it I think it's okay to say when you don't personally like something.
