  • I have been wanting to film this video for awhile now, but I was training new techs for the last few months and finally I am back to working solo. I would loved to have shared more, but I can't for obvious reasons. I also had another technologist sitting behind me working so I tried to be respectful and film when they weren't around or scanning their own patients! Some days do get pretty hectic and filled with more exciting exams and some days are chill. This day was chill 😂

      You don’t have to get into MRI school once you get your XR license. Focus on your ARRT for XR and get into workplace that will cross train you into MRI! Then once you’re done with competencies you can take the ARRT for MR🙂

      No problem! I actually was talking to a CT tech today and they said some colleges have classes that are like intro to healthcare where they teach about different healthcare departments and eventually will take the students on a field trip to facilities/hospitals to see what jobs are out there. It includes more than just radiology departments and I thought that's a good way to learn more about different healthcare fields, maybe if a college near you offers that you should take it!

    • @MimiLe
      @MimiLe  11 месяцев назад

      I work longer hrs than 8, but everywhere is different depending how fast scans are and how many times you change the exam table. I have experienced working in slow environments and fast paced so workplace definitely plays a role in how hard it is on your body.

  • @whatevervlogs9663

    do you have to know all the body parts like all the bone names, parts of the brain, and down to the specifics right off the bat and do you have to use that everyday, do you have to label body parts.... I am taking Anatomy and physiology right now and i'm scared im going to forget a bone name. How critical is it

    • @furyboltmine6286
      @furyboltmine6286 9 месяцев назад +6

      Most likely, I wouldn’t worry too much abt memorization, as that will stick long term with time and effort. Bi-yearly licensed test and exams will also most likely keep you up to shape. What you should worry abt is the clinical aspects of mri techs which is usually more important and harder to learn and understand. Stuff like: making sure your patients don’t have implants, how to keep patients calm, how to properly scan images. rn you’re in the prerequisites so really don’t stress abt it too much😅+ you’ve got a lot of time to learn before becoming an mri tech.

      MRI is all about anatomy. Not just bones, but you need to know muscles, arterial vs venous flows, understanding a lot of physics of the magnet. You don’t have to label things, but you are required to understand what pathology is being asked for, and you must find it with your exam or at least give the radiologist something diagnostically appropriate. You will need to know anatomy inside and out when you sit for your boards, but when you are actually working, you’ll need to remember/understand enough to know what you’re doing in order to perform the proper examination on the patient. Hope that helps 🙂

      Not a stupid question at all! I am usually training a new tech or a student so one of them will be able to take over in case I need to step away for any reason. Or you can ask another tech if they are available to help you for a few minutes.
