I need one of these. Was thinking how to evaporate something without heat for years, and the thought came to mind. So I youtubed "vacuum evaporator", and see tons of these on here! I need one!!!
Hilarious, I was just about to comment that this was just like the rotavap that I use when I realized that it is exactly the same rotavap that I use. Hope things are going well for you. N.
I had this model, the 90 degreese motor starts to produce high pitched souds over time, the collection flask developed crack from vacuum, the whole system won’t distil as much as they say, rubber sealings disintegrated withing 2-3 months....everything reported to seller, they don’t respond after 2 month. Bought on Ebay

I'm a hobbyist, not a chemist. I've not seen a "real" lab before that wasn't made pretty for video. I'm curious - what are you doing or working on? I don't need a rotary evaporator, but couldn't something be made that would spread the solution without spinning the flask? Obviously not, because it's an obvious idea - just wondering why.
You're wondering why the flask needs to spin? Keeps the solution moving, so it heats evenly (doesn't burn) and evaporates the solvent quicker, by increasing surface area.
I’m a normal guy and not a scientist lol. I want one for cannabis extracts but I have no idea what all is necessary to configure one. Do you need a chiller?
Yes. They are the shit. You need a vacuum pump / controller and a water chiller for the condenser. Waiting on mine and have a few questions myself. Too bad this guy doesnt reply to comments. I want to know what adapters he got for the bump trap and from where . LOL $351CAD thru Walmart! See how it goes. Was just about to pull the trigger on a real one.
Yeah... the question of seals is always the question. I think the question is more pronounced now than it has been historically, due to the enormous flood of rotary evaporators that have come on the scene to supply the cannabis extraction industry. Are these all using the same basic principle at play as those that have been historically sold by Buchi and others? or are they just Chinese models repackaged in nicer skin and sold at 8,000x markup?

hello, got the rotary evaporator system yet? I can supply the whole system. Where are you located?
@@Eric-wz1bw I wish I had it. I can't even manage current expenses without debt rn. But soon.
@@rmt3589 well, start something that can increase revenue stream. good luck, man.
@@Eric-wz1bw Thanks! I have several things started. It's just about getting them to cashflow.

Great video! Are these cheap rotavaps capable of handling pressures of 5-10 mbar or is that too low for these systems? Thanks.
I was gunna get one of those simple vevor distillery chemistry sets but I didnt pull the trigger because I dont have a vent over my kitchen stove.
Seen a 20 liter on on Ebay for a good price 👍& free shipping

Hi, How is the setup of the seals on vapour duct and to the condenser?
How much of a vacuum did you have it set to for it to crack the collection flask? Did you have a regulator?
Hello, I have one yuestion about that - where did you bought glass adapter, which is discussed in video?
I contacted the rotavap manufacturer thru amazon and they added it on to my order, cheers!

What one is the coolant inlet the inner coil or outer?
Do you need to lubricate the rubber seal in the vapor duct?
probably a good idea
